A man can be a master chef for 50 years and have 20 michelin stars, but he‘s never gonna make pita as masterfully as balkan moms do, period.
Burek is very popular in all Balkan countries, it`s dish influenced by the Ottoman Empire ... pretty much every Balkan country have it`s own version ... and all of them are delicious ...
I love her accent of New York with Albanian mix!! Nice family!
Hearing a Albanian accent with a New York twang is so cool! I love the melting pot that is the U.S. 😊
You called it action I'm Hispanic and I made this after watching it. Like you I like to have a multi cultural palate. You can lear a lot about other culture from food. All good food comes with a story. Thank you for posting.
Am I the only one who died when he said "I'm sorry" at 2:38
For all those people that never had a chance to try this. You really don't know what you are missing.
It's not Balkan until there is Vegeta in it.
It has nothing to do with "balkan" they use it in various countries in Europe :D
Haha action is so psyched! He's just like a little kid when it comes to food.
I have a local Bosnian resturant near me that serves burek and its sooo damn good. I'm addicted to it haha they do the original beef and onion and also a ricotta cheese one. Both are amazing.
Loved the interaction with his Aunt. No matter who you are you can't front on some people.
Burek is one of my favorite recipe. This dish makes me very hungry.
Respect to Bronson's family for sharing with us.
Respect to Kosovo and Albania.
Greeting from The Netherlands.
My husband is Bosnian and his mother makes the best cheese and beef pita. Watching this makes my mouth water.
I’m Albanian and beef is not the only filling you can use because you could use spinach ,eggs, and many more things for the filling
Haha, Action Bronson is a legendary Albanian!
I have eaten burek since I was 6 or 7 years old. I don’t think I have ever seen it made. Thank you for sharing one of our comfort foods.
I can see why action bronson is such a big dude. All of these Albanian dishes use like 10 sticks of butter per recipe. That shit looks bangin
it's amazing to me how labor intensive some of these old reciepes are - people back in the day barely had houses the size of this person's kitchen area.
This made my morning man...my mom's side is polish and she would make something very similar when I was a kid...I've been trying to figure out what it was called for years!
I love how he didn't curse the whole time lmao
Damn I love Balkan dishes. They know what tastes good. Daaaamn.
This is making me miss Shkodra, my favorite city i've ever been to. Hopefully I can come close to making this correctly tonight
That was awesome on so many different levels.
How many miligrams of Vegeta do you add? Over 9000?
You win the Internet!! I can't believe this comment is 5 months old and nobody liked or replied to this yet, this is gold. Lmfao.
divno svaka cast za recept , napravila sam i fantasticna mi je ispala , hvala jos jednom :)
At 3:50 you can see action looking at the food like a kid looks at his gifts on christmas...guys simply loves food
Fantastic recipe and a fantastic video. Thx very much for spreading our Albanian culture to the rest of the world.
And to people: please stop hating - non of you where even born when this or that empire existed. So what if Albanian says it a Albanian dish.
Albanians make Borek too? In Algeria we make something similar called Bourek we use a phyllo pastry and its of a spring roll shape. Some are stuffed with ground beef, others with feta cheese and mint, it's delicious.
Burek is also national dish of Montenegro . This is where I ate it first time. Gotta check this recipe out at my home! Thanks Action B!
I cant place her accent, but it is lovely and warm. She sounds like shes lived everywhere. Idk what that is, but I want some.
Damn I was on a diet now I’m heading for the Bronx to get burek 🤭😭 .... and every Albanian kitchen here in New York is Exatly like that , from the cabinets color countertop etc ... lmao
im from queens my parents algerian but we make bureks too tho not like yall but we make them had no idea other people made that shit lmfao i deadass thought it was like some north african shit only
The meat burek is my favorite so far. I do like the cheese and spinach borek though. Nothing beats the traditional meat burek. 👍
Oh man it went super saiyan when she hit it with the Vegeta.
OMG so good! Börek, one of my top fav!
that reminds me of a Spanish dish my gma use to make. Looks so good
Get this guy his own "Prime Time Show" already.......
you can add garlic powder instead, vegeta is onion, garlic, celery, carrot powder you can barely taste anything besides garlic, its just milder , maybe a pinch of sugar and mustard will give the vegeta effect to your garlic powder
I’m on a actions bronson marathon can’t stop
That looks amazing!
Arnavut böregi, is very famous in Turkey.
big love to Albanians
How can a Nation be Proud as a Muslim ? for that Infidel i dont understand.
skenderbeu is biggest Traitor homie
Rula Drise 20% of albanians are still christians and albania is not an islamic nation an albanian muslim is albanian in the first place and muslim second
Well this is not the case for Turkish Albanians. 1. Muslim 2. whatever. currently 2,5 m ALbanians live in Turkey
As a 29-year-old Turkish guy, I've been to Tirana several times, had chances to taste this at its hometown and ALL I can say is that "pite" is just not borek and there's nothing more delicious than this on the world.
Besides that, guys, stop discussing about who made it first. Borek is borek, pite is pite and Kosovo je Albania.
I've always spelled it Burek, but it doesn't really matter. Also it doesn't have to be so plain. you could add greek yogurt or sourcream. other recipes include cooked spinach and feta cheese. you can pretty much put anything in it.
It doesn't matter whether it's Albanian or Turkish.. what matters is that it's delicious! :)
man keep keeping it real and represent much love from israel you dope
Vegeta ♥♥ greetings from Croatia ♥
I love this channel!
The only time I've seen action hold his manners properly and not swear
I'd marry that woman just for her food.
LeninLover69 Marry any Albanian woman and I promise you’ll be satisfied
My mom makes burek but a little different bosnian way
EP AL in Bosnia it’s called pita if it’s with potatoes or cheese. It’s only called Burek if it’s with meat.
Tony Mahony in Kosovo we call it pite if it’s made flat, burek if it’s rolled. Really it’s just pite, it apparent existed before the Ottoman Empire.
Action Bronson MUST go to my country Albania browse the country from north to south from east to west and everywhere he'd go he should eat byrek and he will be blown away by the multiple varieties. We nail byrek! In Turkey they call it Arnavut Boregi. My two favorite choices as an Albanian, the cheese, milk, ricotta cheese, eggs mixed as a filling between two thick phylos (byrek me dy pete) and byrek with tomatoes and onions (byrek me qepe e domate). Remember the BEST way of baking a byrek is on saç in wood fire.
The butter and flour layerig reminds me of french puff pastry.
I love watching this guy. Hilarious
Fuck, that looks delicious.
Ever since I saw a tiktok of this I have been obsessed. Ugh it look do crunchy and delicious
That looks good. Keep it up Action.
Hahaha dude had the yogurt with it and everything
dude ikr the yogurt with it and a lot of the time they drink glasses of buttermilk with it... thats how my grandparents do
Holy crap, all that butter and dough?! My arteries hurt looking at it! But my mouth is watering and I want it NOWW!!
Hell yeah that looks so good bro ... Pita is what i always called it ... Bosnia checking in ..
Vegeta in your meat. Super Saiyan goodness
Once again, proving that AB needs his own channel. Come on Action! Do it.
had so much fun making this!!!
Balkaaaaaan, ladies and gentlemen.
omegazthebadass Yes, I heard sushi comes from turkey too, as well as tacos. Everything comes from Turkey. Turkey too!
lolno, in the times the ottoman empire still existed, they brought their islam and food to the balkan area, its sort of turkish and balkan at the same time, and greek too, as every region has their own version of it
VEGETA IS EVERYTHING!!! :)))
watching this while eating burek hit different
This reminds of working Skopje and eating this in the old bazaar with ma shqipe
Big up for you my shqipe! Where are the albanians??
ALBANIA!!!!!! ooo shipe
Haha he said sorry quick when his Aunt said "Use your hands"
Action was "sorry I was being lazy" seems he usually has control of a room. Not this room lol great vid and food looks good 🤘
2:38 she is NOT playin around AT ALL 😂
Lakror me mish dhe qep, quality!
Pershendetje Pe Australi Arian!
See you in March🇦🇱️
Vegeta 👍🏼 i use it for everything 👌🏼
Lmao when he snags a piece of hamburger while it’s still cooking is real as hell
That pastry is beautiful
its funny how we ballkans eat many same foods have many same thinks but we just fuking hate to much each other . lol /
in general you right, Vëlla. But there is nobody in the world eating pita besides us! PITA IS ILLYRIAN, ALBANIAN!
Te gjithe e kane prejardhjen nga te njetet fise ilire jemi kusherinj por shtete me te fuqishme na kan ndare si prsh turqit ruset gjithe sesi ne gadishullin ilirik lindi civilizimi ose qytetrimet qe njofim sot
@@eronahmeti618 yes it is, im not gonna start loving them after what they did to us.
Now to go eat a bowl of cereal
they just made something incredibly difficult look so easy lol.
The level of this recipe is OVER 9000!!!!!!!!
Really nice but i would also ad SPINACH and FETA CHEESE.Then It becomes more juicy on the inside!!!!!!
Never spinach and feta cheese with meat. That would be a spinach pie, which is generally a greek food. Borek is a bit more middle eastern (there are cultural variations), and not from a culture that really eats a ton of spinach and feta.
I got that spinach and feta recipe from Turkey. All of those countrys got thier own Variations.
@@remz02 go shut up when spinach or cheese is added its called pite woosh!!
Fuck I'm hungry
Bro you need to do more videos like this.
Hard work and patience ! 🙌
add a little bit of Vegeta? ;)
vegeta is part when we Croatians join in...LoL...its Croatian product...in all balkan nations Vegeta is must have product...if u dont ed Vegeta ur food sucks....
Vegeta was the reason why about 2000 Albanians joined Croatia to help the war againts Serbia.
Happy Shqiptar and thats why Croats will join in if serbs ever make any move in Albanian Kosovo...:)
Ivan Ivic it's all about vegeta my friend ahah vegeta is the bond between our nations ahaha
he is not making borek, it is called "pita" "peta" and is albanian
@@kledhs2890 ah ok....i am bosnian croatian ...we say burek is filled with meat and anything Else filled is pita....but good to know thx
Your all video very Informative ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💐💐
damn... looks good
Well, in fact it's called byrek in Albania and burek in Kosovo.
It depends from the region but most of Kosovo albanians call it Pite while n Albania most of people call it Burek/byrek.
His aunty is so beautiful!
Looks Awesome
Another way is to make the dough the day before layered like puff pastry an then just roll it out when ready to bake.
she is beautiful not even gonna lie
100% Albanian
balkan / slavic / ottoman empire / before then silk road type shit. dont claim this!
@@teddybow6554 ah ah ah not slavic its albanian and turkish slavic states have different stuff i have been to serbia bosnia and other countries and they have other food but even tho im albanian even buthurt serbs admit it
I tried 100 times watching my mom do it but i could not learn that technique to make the dough round. it is hard. Mom, missed you and your böreks almost equally :(

Vegeta - the OG spice from the Balkans

The prince of all spices
@@joeychestnut2437 vegeta isnt specifically croatian. its been traded and used amongst Balkan and Mediterraneans forever man. vegeta is made in a bunch of slavic countries. macedonia albania croatia etc.
