Learning some lessons from my previous no research run, I'll be friendly with the civilians this time. We're focusing on salvage, mining, and ore processing for our currency and salvaging every derelict I can get my hands on to survive. My ship design will be inspired by Star Citizen's Drake Vulture.

I still think that the research skill gives them a better chance for schematics. Out of the whole crew Mr. Pi, Kid Kalibre and TheShadowCat have the highest research skill, at 3. Which isn't good, but I still think they have a better chance of getting those schematics. That last mission was great. Those weapons are gonna make a huge difference. I claim Janice's pistol when she gets a better weapon. I have a 3 perception so I'm not too bad of a shot with it. Plus I'm the bravest crewmen on board. This is a pretty good run so far. But, don't forget, Janice has my pistol.
I feel like it influences it but there’s clearly an RNG influence.
We get everyone kitted out pretty soon. At the very least, your character will make a great ship defender.
Exploration missions are a nice addition.
Mr Pi will be an exceptional shootyteam member. Just need to find all the guns.
What a nice boost early game, mission rewards are really worth it now it seems.
I really like how we have an incentive to bounce around back and forth between sectors instead of continually going to the right. Makes the game really feel alive on the strategy level.
I'm glad I got one of those AR's and some armor now. Spacefarer makes me the best shot when we are in spacesuits. We were really lucky to get that mission. Those weapons are going to be very useful.
Those rifles are a big boost.

It really brings the map to life.
Something to keep in mind. There is an energy cost associated with running materials through the recycler. Infra and soft scrap process fastest. Tech scrap is slowest. Early game, energy is hard to come by...
It is, but bulk sale of scrap isn't really feasible now that individual ships have a limit on how many items they'll take. This provides me a motivation to keep moving in search of more energium as well.

If you enjoy stuff like reading logs/lore create a separate channel for it, you have a great voice to carve out a niche for it. It'll negate the low statistics from it on this channel.
Yeah I think you’re right. I’ve pushed all of my tactical gaming content over to another channel and the algorithm is a little more favorable to niching down content by channel. Might do that with the logs.
I could do with a knuckle duster as well as a pistol please i have a really good uppercut.
