  • Even the Spotted hyena that's got a fearsome reputation as one of Africas most successful predators has a soft side. And when you have an opportunity to see their little cubs at a den site, you could actually see how adorable the youngsters are when they haven't developed their adult colours in their coats yet! Hope you enjoy it!

      Did you know they are related to cats not dogs. There are 4 tyoes of hyenas this is a spotted, the largest, the ones in lion king. The others are brown,striped amd aardwolf. They are related to vats but more closely realated to moongese amd meercats. Also Female hyenas are bigger amd have a psuedo penis that looks like males genitals that they give birth from. They have more testosterone amd hyenas are matriarchal. A newborn female cub out ranks the oldest male! The more you know. Also they have a bite force of 1,100 almost twice a lions 650 psi and can eat amd crush even a giraffe thigh bone

    • @Onigirli
      @Onigirli 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@karsonmars8202 That's most interesting, thanks for sharing. No all I knew about them was the whole matriarchy system of theirs, and of course the glorious pseudopenis which I sometimes consider more efficient than the usual female genitalia... having it be an outer tube like that means less danger for the male organ if bodies twist at an awkward angle. But I've never really seen it in action so maybe the pseud is too stiff to bend around like I'm imagining. That stuff about them being closer to cats than dogs though... very cool, and I kind of sensed it. The mongoose relation at least.

      @@Vetrarland OK well that makes sense but however there’s one thing you completely forgot and I saw the videos those males could be just the fathers of the Cubs. When it comes to the pride of lions whenever the male lion plays too rough around the cubs acts out aggressive towards them the lionesses always act in defensive mode trying to keep the male from slaughtering it’s on offspring by mistake. Whenever Cubs are born the Lionesses normally don’t introduce the Cubs to male lion that fathered them until they are a little grown because being an oversized aggressive male can lead to the death by accident. But when another male lion takes over the pride it kills all the offspringIn order to put the lionesses in heat for mating. I’m not trying to be a smart ass I’m just saying that’s the truth. What you just saw was a fathers playing too rough or acting aggressive probably as a way of discipline because they’re in trouble with their Cubs. Just like you seen those videos were a dad goes into the room to ground his son or daughter by taking away whatever game system or television they have and breaking them going a little overboard with there are way of discipline.

      @@ChibiCherub Wrong. That only applies to immigrant males. A male born into the clan will take the rank directly below that of his mother's. In fact, it is possible for a clan to be lead by a male rather than a female.
      'Spotted hyenas live in hierarchical social groups that consist of up to 130 members, including up to 50 adult females, 40 adult males and 40 offspring. In these ‘clans’ there is a strict, linear dominance hierarchy in which all females and their young dominate all immigrant males. Daughters and sons inherit the social ranks right below that of their mother. Thus, spotted hyenas live in matrilineal societies led by an ‘alpha-female’ followed by her young and all other females with their young.
