I love how you're completing one room at a time like this. It's never really complete and I'm sure you'll be popping in and out of rooms but it's cool to get a room looking finished and furnished.
I am enjoying the process as well. I skipped all over the Addams Mansion and no room ever really felt 'complete' until the very end. Doing it this way allows me to really focus in and pull out a ton of detail. I hope to continue it as I go! (it will be easier to organize storage for it this way too lol!)
I read it once that "art is never finished, only abandoned", but I feel like I really got what it means just now 😄
I don't think Dalia is the type of person to ever actually be satisfied if not done by herself. Lol

Ara, I LOVE that you chose to solve your problem with the misprinted kitchen stools by tapping into your creativity instead of just scrapping the 3-D prints! You took a potential disaster and turned that into something unique and cool! The cow hide look over industrial looking stool designs just really seems like a thing that Delia would have gone for! lol. Nicely done! The spice bottles looked to be a lot of fun to do! They look amazing! The silver lids keep with Delia's industrial design look, so it makes so much sense. Seeing it all together was awesome!

I Googled it and saw cleavers ranging in size from 7"-14" so there's a huge variation. Maybe you could add some Diamond Glaze to the blades so they look more metallic and the sheen contrasts the handles.

I must admit, when I was watching Beetle Juice (and I did it just maybe 2 or 3 times), I was not fond of Delia, I was seeing her as a villain. but this series made me change my mind and appreciate her more.
I know what you mean! I am so glad they show that tiny glimpse of her at the end of the movie where they are all living together in peace and she takes inspiration from her experience for her art! Her tiny redemption arc lol!

You know? It wasn't until you mentioned it that I realize just how much of this shocking, electric blue color there is throughout Delia and Otho's design. Even before the finished product is shown to us, when Delia and Otho are touring the house, we hear Otho request a room be blue-green. It's such a departure from the warmth of the Maitland's design: all the warm wood tones and cottage-like elements that actually made it feel like a proper Victorian house. It's perfect for "trendy" 80's-early 90's New Yorkers lol
I definitely agree! I think they were going for polar opposite designs and they nailed it! The warm browns and yellows of the Maitlands vs the cold blacks and blues of the Deetz design!
My mom once said that as long as it contains everything you need it is functional, so in that case Delia's Kitchen is FUNctional. :}

Only a real skilled Master Crafter can work transitionally from mishaps between crafting methods (hand-made to 3D-print and vice-versa) and deliver a smashing work of art in the end. Great work on the stools, Ara! 🖤👍

She should take a break, do something small... Mr. Roger's Cape Cod (originally a Bachmann HO kit!) holding his whopping two rooms. The bathroom and upstairs office can't exist without a tiny staircase behind Picture Picture, but later eps removed the door going there...
Oh wow the Home Alone house would be a fun undertaking... especially if I could set up all those traps lol!

I love how the kitchen turned out. Omgosh, it’s so amazing and mini Ara looks right at home in it. The knives look fine next to her. I think you were too worried about the scale. They might be a tiny bit smaller, but they look good with her in the kitchen. You certainly have things to do but let’s remember we’re supposed to be enjoying the process, so no hurry. I’m enjoying the process too these days, not that I have as much going on. I’ll just keep looking forward to all of your updates, on what else you are working on. Thank you, for sharing all of your thoughts, on building Delia’s house and how it coming together.

This was so fun! I love everything about this kitchen and how it flows with the dining room. There's a lot of satisfaction with getting a room done and moving on to the next. It keeps up the excitement for the whole project since the next part is going to be just as exciting. Thank you for always lending good ideas, especially on how to "save" something that went wrong. I think jumping around from room to room on the Addams house really wore me out and nothing ever truly felt done. This process has been really refreshing and I think its encouraging to see an entire space come other next to a blank space. It feels like potential vs. results! I am so glad you liked it!

The bar is part of the living room in a wave like pattern. It starts at the entrance to the dining room and swivels into the walkway of the kitchen. So that's what is seen in the back of Lydia. if you look at images of the interior there is a photo of them and thier guests where Ortho is standing behind it.
I love blue but i don't think i could love it enough to have it all over my house. I can't imagine being the next owner of the house.
I bet Delia would haunt the place keeping people from changing all her renovations

Today was a definite stressful day at work... But that I popped on TH-cam and I was able to see the sunshine thru my cloudy day ..... I simply love the chairs you where able to save.... I don't see the misprints as imperfections I see they as being unique and one of a kind..... It gives character to the pieces and the whole project.... Absolutely love it! There are so many little details that make the kitchen look real. I agree that the knife set looks a bit small but if you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have noticed. I'd just leave it as is. Every one will be so amazed with all the details, they won't notice.

I absolutely love how the kitchen has turned out. Scale drives me insane my kitchen has different scales in it and the sofa in the living room area looks way to big but hey it makes it fun 😂. Can't wait to see the living room come to life

It's so exciting to see everything come together! I also love how you involve all the little goodies that friends and fans sent you, and in the end, it's so coherent! I start to like the blue walls as well. In the movie I used to think "how tacky", but I come to like and appreciate it. Maybe not for the entire room, but I can see myself using some royal blue as an accent wall on the future. Keep up the great work and thanks so much for posting!
Thank you Phil!! I really enjoy using other peoples miniatures in my scenes as well, especially because it brings a bit of variety and interest. Not everything looks like it was made by the same person which is the way it would be in real life. Plus everyone is so amazingly creative, they make things I would never think of! So glad the blue is growing on you too... I really didn't think I would come out of this liking Delia's style!
Wow!!! Can't believe it took me so long to get to this video. I watched it last night and was so amazed and inspired to rewatch the movie. You have done an amazing job!!!! I love how the stools turned out. You would never know it was a goof print. I love the red bar and ladders. I think you are correct about the bar; it may be in the living room as well. Watching the movie, it looks like it wrapped from the kitchen into the living. Watching the movie last night I think the door going from the front of the house into the kitchen looks opened. The door from the kitchen to the dining room looks like 2 swinging doors one with a diamond and the other with circle shape windows. Everything is just so awesome, and I know I have said before, but the flowers and food just make the room pop! Thank you for sharing I am just loving how this is coming together. I can't believe how far you have come already. Happy Easter to you and your family😍
Ahhhhhh, ARA! I love it!!!! I remember thinking and talking with friend about how over the top Delia was when I watched it on the big screen the first week it opened. Your version shows how fun it really is...in miniature. My eye is drawn by the huge looking meat tenderizer on the vent hood, the scale is really wild.

You know, styles go in and out of fashion and the kitchen... well, it is kind of cool. Blue! An cool. 😉 Finishing the Captain's Quarters? That would be nice. Also a bit sad? I mean, that was again what intrested me into the channel so... yeah. Life moves on I guess. 😀 New stuff to look forward to. Alsp the glass parts look great, window included. Would say that is the best (but not only good) part of the kitchen. You have a knack for these.

Have you looked at any of the behind the scenes pictures? That's how I found out what the back of the miniature I made looked like.

I honestly think the knives are accurate size, even moreso when you put mini Ara in the space, and her hand was close to the knife on the island. I have a few different sized cleavers, one is as small as a pocket knife, I love it!
I also personally loved Delia’s eclectic style both then and now! I’ve absolutely looked into painting my guest bathroom that electric blue, I’ve seen examples on Pinterest that helped me visualize it. I also have 1 orange couch, one gray couch, and an olive green chair, and my living room has a aqua wall. Everything else is tan/neutral, except for the art on the walls (looks like a gallery.)

(In Darth Vader voice…) “I find your lack of brown disturbing…” 😂 seriously though this is such a different side of your artistry making it sleek and clean and brightly colored and new and shiney! And you’re pulling it off with flying colors! Pun intended! And I don’t think your knives are too small…if you put one in mini Ara’s hand I think it’s about right. The cleaver even in the movie feels like it should be bigger but that’s the size a home cook would use for say a chicken. Delia isn’t butchering a pig or cow 🤷♀️. She’s prolly not even cutting up a chicken. She’s clueless in the kitchen 😂. Love the spice rack and the magnet walls…I’m still so thrilled. Absolute genius! I’ve missed you friend! We’ve had a lot of weather that threw us back into the Stone Age and just some heavy life stuff. I have some serious catching up to do! Lol the "hatchet" is a meat cleaver. It and the knives are amazing!!! What is the thickness of the matt board you use? And where do you buy it. Yours always looks like a better quality than i am finding lately. BACK IN college a million years ago the Matt board we used for framing our art pieces was a nice quality like yours.
