Can-Am Outlander 650 vs Suzuki Kingquad 750 Steep Hill Climb

  • V-Twin vs Bigbore! The higher revving Outlander gets the momentum to get the job done. Kingquad has the meaty tires and traction but not enough power. Both great machines, this was the only challenge that put the one machine above the other.

    LOL! Definitely the rider on the king.. my kingquad has made it up steep snowy hills no prob! (500cc) it is however light, so I added some aftermarket bumpers front and rear and a full aluminum skid plate,and 26" STI black diamond tires.... 👍🏻full throttle riding, ride it like you stole it!!👍🏻

      Thanks Ray for your comment and watching the video. I get a kick out of that video, it was one of my first. Terrible audio, no editing but for some reason TH-cam decided it was worth promoting and before I knew it it had a couple thousand views. The success of it is what inspired me to keep making videos and build this channel. If it never got those views I don't think I ever would have bothered, so I am quite thankful for it.

  • @WoZIMoo

    Has nothing to do with power. His tires are mud tires and will dig rather than throw snow but frankly your friend was much of the problem. I've been through just over 12,000kms of Canadian winters with my King Quad without ever wanting more power. You very rarely need to use low range with the Suzuki because its got a massive single lunger and nice gearing, low range makes it slip too easy. Diff lock has little to no advantage on snow and you'll probably end up hitting the limiter and lose momentum. Can Ams are nice but they are very heavy and I've seen them sink in softer stuff where the King just glides over, one of the reasons why I bought mine.

    Both quads weigh just about the same. King quad has PLENTY of power . Tires and rider were the problem. 4wd LOW with front diff locked and not having MUD tires wouldve made this climb just as easy as the can am.

  • @bobaudette79
    @bobaudette79 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice guys ! But the KQ sound weird. When i full throttle mine its not like that.. but well its a 2021so no problem for now. BUt its about the same HP .. he should try the coop mod. he would love it. maybe ill do it one day 20-30% lower end torque without sacrificing the top end. only machining the outer prymary clutch.

  • @JackG79

    Rotax V-Twin power vs the Old one lunger. The King Quad has a nice make up of features, it just needs a modern engine.

  • @DanaDoss
    @DanaDoss 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    THE AIR presure , the weight of each rider , and the ability to ride all play a role in this ,so you really cant say for sure by this that the Outlander can out do the Suzuki, I have a 400 Eiger and because i am a better rider than most, or just because i dont give a dam,, I out go bikes twice as powerful, It has a lot to do with who is on the Wheeler, I would bet good money i could drop a pound of air pressure and smoke that little hill, you have to give it some fuel, like the guy on the Outlander did, Let him ride the Zuky,

    Hard to believe couldn't make it up with diff lock. Did the canam have diff lock on?

    • @TrailRider
      @TrailRider  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can Am's have an automatic differential lock. When it detects slippage it automatically engages. This is simply an example of twin cylinder vs single. My friend in the video sold his Suzuki a couple months after this video and is now rocking a 2012 Outlander 800.

    • @TrailRider
      @TrailRider  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      King quad couldn't get a running start, just not enough power to build up any steam. I'm not saying the Suzuki is gutless, it just makes it's power differently.

    • @adminsrtrefrigeration515
      @adminsrtrefrigeration515 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No lack of power on either machine, Rider was in low gear on KQ. It has a way lower range the can-am. I have a a outlander 850 and a KQ750. The KQ will out climb the can-am all day long. That was all the rider!

  • @jakerodgers1225
    @jakerodgers1225 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This has absolutely nothing to do with power. King quad is lighter but those tires are horrible for the snow, and appears to be bottoming out quicker. Raise it up a bit to meet the height of can am and it would probably be a much more fair comparison.

    I think it has more to do with tires than anything. Bear claw tires on my honda rancher perform better on snow than my grizzly 700 with new rip saw tires. “Meaty”doesn’t mean anything in these conditions.

  • @bigrainbow25
    @bigrainbow25 8 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    If you switched riders on the machines the Can Am would be the one not climbing the hill. The guy on the quad needs to go back to climbing 101. Anybody not agree???

    • @cactuscanuck6802
      @cactuscanuck6802 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      robert self Absolutely correct. It's more about the rider than anything, plus partly the way the machine is set up. I've been up that one on my 450 King in 2wd high, on stock sized zillas, with a Dalton clutch kit (using only the mild weights and factory spring). Installing this set up turned it into a whole new machine; I've embarrassed many larger machines of differing brands with this set up ;-)
