My fog light got broken on my 2016 elantra but the parts you connect it to on the bumper where the screws go are missing. Can you repair or get glue on replacement without replacing bumper?
It really depends on how it broke. If you still have the broken piece to attach, I would try some JB Weld first. You can buy pretty much anywhere for $5. It works pretty well with plastics. You can also try some super glue or even heat up a metal rod and use that to melt the plastic around the broken piece. It's a very "quick" way to fix something without a plastic welder. Lastly, is buying a plastic welder. I've personally never used one but they range in price. You just melt/weld a plastic support pieces to the broken plastic tab. I hope this helps. If I recall correctly, the customer did not want to purchase the bottom engine cover, or lower valance. I think it was out of his budget and he said he would purchase later. The lower engine shield or bottom cover attaches to the bumper where we inserted the clips in the video. The back end would also be clipped or bolted to a couple places on the frame.
The grill is not the same on the Elantra GT 2015, I just removed my bumper but I am having problems removing the grill, the top part where the hood is , is not coming off, it has some weird plastic pins/ribbets. I don't know if I will find a tutorial for the 2015 model.
Hello. It's hard to say having not taken off a GT grille before. But, you may be referring to plastic screws. They look like push pins but have screw tip on the top. They can be tough to take off because the plastic will wear out and the screw will just spin and not come up. Try cutting or drilling them if you cannot unscrew it. I haven't seen rivets on a Hyundai, but if they are, just drill them out. Drilling out rivets is the only way to remove them. Plastic rivets and a hand held rivet gun usually run about $20 at your hardware store. Good luck & thank you for watching!
Hello Kimberly! The gun we used was to install the rivets. There are also hand held rivet guns that you squeeze like pliers that work very well. We were installing the brackets for the headlights and that allows the bumper to be secured below the headlight. The brackets are needed but you could probably use small screws too. No, you don't need the bottom shield to install the bumper but it's good to have it so nothing flies into your engine bay. Thank you for watching and please subscribe, it helps us a ton!
I have a 2017 Hyundai Elantra SE and part of my front bumper and fender liner is missing. When I get the new bumper do I go through this process as well? Or does that depend on how the new bumper comes? My grille is fine and so is my headlight.
Hello Tina! Yes. the process is pretty much the same. You have to transfer the grilles over and reuse the your same bolts/screws. We would love to do it. Most hoods are attached the same. Just remove the top two bolts holding on the hood. Do not remove the bottom two bolts attached to the frame. Have a friend help you, it's much easier. Let us know if you have any questions.
