I live in the US and don't have Hebrew on my keyboard, so posting in English. This was such a useless conversation because neither one of these people is willing to acknowledge the legitimate concerns of the other. The reality of the conflict is that BOTH Israel & the Palestinians are victims, and BOTH are also perpetrators. And if we can't acknowledge this reality I don't see any hope of solving anything. All the roadblocks in Judea & Samaria weren't there before the first Intifada, Palestinians were able to travel freely anywhere in the country, I'm old enough to remember this from my childhood, not just from studying history. The Palestinians don't hate us because we occupy them, they hate us because we dare have sovereignty of our own. They hated us before they self-identified as Palestinians, they hated us before Israel gained independence and unless they can accept Israel's right to exist as the world's only Jewish state on its historical homeland, there will never be peace.
On the other hand, it's true that much of HOW we practice our security needs is humiliating and designed to make their lives difficult, sometime unnecessarily so. And for a 18, 19, 20 year old to bark commands at someone who's old enough to be their parent is absolutely humiliating. Roadblocks and checkpoints can be effective without being humiliating, which just adds fuel to the fire.
As for the notion that the land is occupied, I suggest you look up uti posidetis juris - a principle of international law that determines the borders of new states when they are created, and explain to me why it isn't applied to Israel - the ONLY country on earth where this is the case. If this principle of international law was applied, then the entirety of the land would be considered Israel, and legally speaking I'm not aware of a single legally binding resolution or opinion that contradicts this principle. It's simply ignored and the world calls it an illegal occupation, including through UN resolutions which are non-binding, meaning they are political OPINIONS, they carry no force of law. The VP of the ICJ even brings this very issue up in her excellent dissent to the recent non-binding advisory opinion the court issued calling it an illegal occupation.
All that said, I would much rather cede Judea & Samaria and Gaza for true peace and be able to travel anywhere I want in those areas than hang on to them as we are but for a Jew to step into any A or B area, and even some C areas is to risk one's life.
