Can anybody please help me? I am a beginner squash player and my understanding of the rules are that when serving a players foot must be grounded in the service box but when watching professional and recreational players serve often the foot is not grounded in the service box ie lifted in air, or dragged out of the box when striking the ball?????

A part of your foot must touch the service box when the ball is hit. This is normal since the server will move faster to the T after the serve than having you whole foot gounded on the service box. Your foot can be above the service box line but it must not touch the line.

The serve hits Rosner's body before he can move out of the way to play the ball.
