I grew up in an Amish home and visited many. Trim was always meticulously installed. Not sure where this misinformation comes from. I love all the built ins! The sink situation in the bathrooms 😅 thank you for sharing!
I honestly think it just depends on the community. The other house on this property has no trim. The house we were originally in contract on had beautiful trim. The realtor said usually in this area they trim out the main floor but not the upstairs. Who knows. LOL Thanks for watching and commenting!

They could be - they could be anything you want to use them for. The Amish here use the little 'room' off the living room as a sewing room, so most of them use them for sewing supplies. They are called Miller Tech Rechargable LED Lanterns. I don't know where you would get one - we got it from a local Amish store. I do know we had to buy the lantern, bulb and charger separately. They also have an awesome headlamp. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Well, you have asked the unanswerable question - I've been able to answer them all until now. LOL We gave the previous owner cash and he left it. We all figured it would be easier if he just bought a new one when he got moved and we wouldn't have to put one together. (Although he did overcharge us by double!! That's another story....) It is steel, not portable, not aluminum. (I did an internet search to see if I could find it for you.) There is no identifying brand on it. I do know it is also available in a couple sizes. Mine is not the largest one - my king size sheets are too big for one side. The local Amish down here sell them, so if you have an Amish community near you, you may want to check with them. We've been here about 10 months now. We have put electric in the quilt shop and some in the basement of the house. I do use the electric washer, but all of our clothes are line dried. The dryer is sitting down there in case I change my mind, but I doubt I do. We did put a few outlets in the main floor of the house for things like the refrigerator....but we really don't mind not having electric. This journey has taught us a lot! Who lives in the other house and has 2 cars? How come it is all right to use the internet and computers or laptops plus a cell phone? You don’t like white gas? How are you going to get hot water without heating up your house in the summer because all you have is natural air through the windows? And how are you able to use a generator to charge up your lights? I’m really not trying to be mean, rude, or catty I’m just very confused I like in WI and our ( a lot of ) Amish is so different because what you have isn’t acceptable or tolerated around here so I’m just really confused and curious. The other house is our quilt shop and the cars are ours. We are NOT Amish. We simply bought an Amish farm. The other videos show how we take care of the water etc. It is pretty amazing to be able to use what they have in place. Thanks for watching and commenting!
We need some place for the kids when they come to stay. We have 6 adult children and they have children. We didn't choose it because of the bedrooms - we chose it because of everything else. :) Having that door on the stairs allows us to not have to heat the whole thing.
@Appalachian Mercantile I know that as I get older, it's alot harder to get up and down steps, that's why I asked. I have a 3 bedroom split foyer and I have fallen a couple of times. But if you are in good shape, then it shouldn't be a problem.

This particular family moved up to the northern part of the state to help take care of his dad. None of his brothers here could afford to buy the farm, so it sold outside the Amish community.
