Thank you for a nice E-LOK review and your install of the ESU V.4 & assoc equipment in the BR103. Like you I am very pleased with the appearance and operation of the entire PIKO train, and glad I pre-ordered as they are now hard to come by. Yes Piko at times falls back into the past with details, but I operate on a club layout and these small items are the first to fall off from normal operations & transport. That windshield wipers are the thing what drives me crazy by Piko! I can not understand why can Piko not attach this Parts by hand. If they want to safe few cents in production, they could just drill holes and deliver wipers separately and let the modeler to apply them on his own. I can accept any other detail molded direct to body like side handrails but not wipers. That's the reason why I would buy maybe Roco DB 103. Otherwise the model is very well done and got some details better than Roco, like the snowplow etc. Really pleasure to look at it. I got the IC coaches too and next week comes also the Restaurant car. I can not understand how could you Peter get it one month earlier than me. I preordered it few months ago... 😠
yep... same with the electrical heating cables / outlets between cars. I wish they just left empty space there rather than the chip partial 2d molded piece. Still overall vs price point and on the layout .. very nice set.
