    I really like this. Coming to caravanning from a tent camping background I prefer a more basic and functional caravan that I can take on adventures and actually use, without worrying about getting it dirty or breaking umpteen unnecessary “features”. This one hits the mark just right.

    Just when I’d narrowed it down to two vans you throw this in and now I have to wait to see if it comes to UK because it would be perfect for just me and the dog! I like the idea of packing in the house then just taking it to the van! I like the idea of no gas; it’s one less thing for me to think about. Thank you for keeping us in the loop.

    Different, but functional! Love the windows! Not sure what the… fabric cabinets are made of, but I’ve seen a few class B’s with those and after a few months they just degrade into hanging sacks (lost all rigidity). If they are going to go that route, why not just put a bunch of hooks everywhere and give them a sack of canvas bags of different sizes. 😊 As for the lack of lights, a few rechargeable stick up lights would work well, I’ve used them for years! Just make sure you get the type with replaceable li-ion batteries as the LED’s last decades, the batteries for a few years.

    It was very interesting when you started introducing this van as I was fairly certain that there would be bunks at the back. I owned this Adria over 30 years ago! It is fascinating how things come around.

    Some nice innovation here Andrew, and it's always good to see manufacturers releasing lightweight vans. Thanks for showcasing another innovative, stylish, lightweight van.
    The bedding would go onto the top bunk for daytime storage, but I wonder whether there is enough clothes and belongings storage even for a couple and one child.
    We find that our Knaus 400LK double dinette layout works really well to provide daytime space.
    I think this van could work well for fair weather holidays, perhaps with a small awning, but everyone round the one table might get tiresome on bad weather days with more than two people.
    I wonder whether the insulation and heating (not sure what heating system it has) would stand up to freezing temperatures...

    I really like the idea!
    Only wish Adria will offer soon the same model but in the samer lay-out than the Aviva 360-DD (small convertig single bed/dining area at the rear, instead of bunk beds) That would be just perfect for a travelling couple.
    I think also mattresses they look too thin to be comfortable, standard ones would not add too much weigh.

    We were regular campers with our kids and often looked at Freedom Caravans which were a basic, lightweight caravan. Then we hired a motorhome, then we bought a motorhome, then we made a vow of poverty…
    But yes if this was twenty years ago I’d be queuing up for one of these. Staying on sites, always use hook up this would have been super.

    I feel like there must be come collaboration with ikea here somewhere. A few of the accessories and fittings like the boxes under the bunks, the peg board and the induction hob all look like ikea products. Add that ikea styling of the rest of the van, it all looks strangely familiar.

    I couldn’t live with the shower hose going across the mirror like that and also not sure on the point of the bunk beds - could 4 people really live in a caravan so small with all their clothes etc. We have an Altea 4Four which looks to be a similar size and is perfect 4Two!. Ours is beautifully light but this looks very dark inside

    Well, this is different!! Thank you for showing this one, very interesting. What size car engine do you need to tow one of these? I'm no good with all the technical details except that I know the engine has to be a certain weight to tow caravans with! I'm hopeless honestly!! Great video, you're showcasing plenty of variety, really comprehensive!! Bless you, no wonder you haven't had time for a proper holiday but the CL/CS you were staying at looked lovely and tranquil, don't mind working when the surroundings are so nice and peaceful hey?!! Is that it now or is there more from the show?!! We're being well and truly spoilt this time, thank you you're a sweetheart!! Take care, love and hugs xxx 😘😍🐶🐕

    • @andrewjditton
      @andrewjditton ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I'd go for a minimum of a 1.3 if I were towing. Back in the day I had a 1.6 Cortina which struggled a bit but things have moved on a lot since then! xx

    Interesting "lightweight" caravan with some good design ideas. What makes you think though, is back in the 1970's you could buy a Sprite Musketeer with a 14 foot body length, it had an ex works weight of 600kg and a gross weight of 850kg and it had glass windows!

    As a couple we'd prefer bunks made into dinette for 2 allowing double to be left made up. See Xplore 304 and Bailey Discovery 4-4L. Looks like there is enough room for couple bikes on drawbar.

  • @estud4749
    @estud4749 ปีที่แล้ว

    What are the exterior panels made of please? And also is this a wooden internal frame or composite? Also I presume there is potential to make the bottom bunk into a dinette - just like some Weinsberg's do i.e more versatile.

  • @darrenwilson8042

    lighter materials would help greatly in there Andrew I agree - I remember a mate had a Nissan 200sx that had black leather interior with a black roof lining - he didn't have it long he started having nightmares about being buried alive and blamed the car. As they stopped when he got new wheels I think he may have had a point.
    Other than that nice van - less is always more

    While I appreciate the thoughts and idea behind this lightweight caravan, I think it looks a little homemade. Things like the bungee holding the plastic boxes under the bed, the fact the hob justs sits on the counter top not built in makes it seem a little unfinished to my mind. Nice idea though

    If this is the size, standard and weight you have to have with a modern EV, EV sales amongst caravanners will be negligible, especially families. You have all that charging faff and when you arrive after all that charging anxiety and multiple charging stops due to very poor range, you are welcomed on arrival by a shameless shoe box. Sorry No !
