Her works are beyond "craft". It's "fine art" equal to that of any noted painters and sculptures!!! It's only marginalized in america/uk...
NOTE! Any Afrikan fabrics that JoAnn's, Walmart and other corporate chains (and some independent stores) are NOT from Afrika!!! They are 99% of the time from/made in Korea, India, Turkey, China and other non-Afrikan and non-Afrikan Diaspora countries and "hands".

That is continuing an outdated concept that craft is lesser. In the contemporary craft field, the James Renwick Alliance and others use craft and art interchangeably when speaking about material based artworks.

Fantastic workshop. A correction not Nina Simone, the picture was Jennifer Baker. Thanks again and look forward to more classes.

I found this video as a TH-cam recommendation. Bisa your work is amazing! I’d never heard of using fabric on canvas prior to this video. I enjoyed listening to the background history of each piece and the information on African fabric. I’m really impressed how you don’t focus on our skin tones as people of color but instead on the individual as a whole…awesome! I look forward to seeing more of your work.

This is such beautiful and inspirational work. The more artists and other "minorities" come forward and share their culture...the more we all understand each other better.
