These ideas became popular only after the Post-COVID economic downturn. The idea of discouraging ambition and only doing what is asked of you is not new at all in the west, at least it has been commonplace for the last 20 years in the manufacturing sector. Upward mobility within companies is often incredibly demoralizing and is designed to burn you out in order to provide others in the company the option of having higher-paying positions, it's so they can make good on their claims of such advancement being available in advertised job offers. The whole point of discouraging the idea of going "above and beyond", is that companies don't want their workers getting the idea that they may be worth more than what the company expects them to be, which often is to be a "predictable cog" in their system.

I mean this makes sense, she was clearly lonely because of her attitude and the scolding got worst since she liked him, some people have weird/counter productive ways in showing their affection/interest to others. No wonder she encountered the marriage certificate as a lovely surprise because of her lonineless, this character is very human.
I guess her way of showing affection is that she's trying to encourage the guy to be a better version of himself...the problem is she doesn't know how to so scolding is probably the only way she knows how to encourage the guy😅
@@justineallandevelos6491 I mean, she's also in a position of authority and management in Japan. A nation not exactly known for its ultra progressive attitudes towards women. She has to be an ice queen or else she likely wouldn't get any respect.
Y'know, my boss was similarly strict with me during my 3 and a half years of job training. Difference was that he's an old man, not a beautiful lady. Not that it would've had changed anything, I guess. Either way, he scolded me a lot like Shizuka here. No matter how hard I tried, I was never good enough. As someone who draws a lot of self-worth from how others view me and how useful I am... it drove me into depression, to be honest. I haven't even been able to apply for a new job yet, because the doubt of my competence still lingers, despite having gone to therapy. That said, therapy still helped a lot, and I'm rather... content with how things are right now. I know I need to change things soon eventually, but for now... I think this works for me.
Used to have that issue at first. Until I figured out: I just do my job the best way I can, ask for advice from veteran personel when I'm not sure. And just tell the boss that I'm going to follow his orders but I'll do it my way, and it will work. And it does. I then become some sort of shroedinger's worker: I'm both the rebel who does what he wants but I'm also the dependable who gets work done and solves problems. The bosses reaction? They get used to it and count on you. Chewing you stops as it has no effect and bosses would rather not spend energy on you if they can avoid it. Thing is, the way my former bosses told me things work: "Do your job and don't become a problem. Because if you become a problem, you become my problem, and if you can't fix it, and I can't fix it, it becomes my superior's problem, and usually firing you is the quick easy "solution" because sometimes problems can't be fixed. And I'm on the same position as you: if I become a problem, it is my superior's problem and I might get axed as well. It goes all the way to the top, and if you are on the top of the company, you have to deal with investors. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, don't know how the owner deals with them." He also mentioned that companies have a lot of problems finding competent managers because the people who would make excellent managers (that is: people who are passionate about the job and the company and want to see everything improve, from production and efficiency to morale and familiarity) don't actually want to be managers for various reasons that a bigger paycheck can't make up for. And second, because the people who DO want to become managers tend to be of the assholish types who don't really care about the company, moraly, the employees or production, they just want to get their big paycheck and have the machine running as it is, so they cause stagnation, drop in morale, screw over those who rock the boat too much even if it's for the betterment of the company, and avoid as much responsibility as possible. And I witnessed that firsthand: When the overseer of the sector I was working at retired, one of the members of The Board showed up to talk about it, along with the supervisor and the coordinator. So the gist was that the coordinator would become Supervisor, the supervisor would be put on a course to become the next overseer, and one of the grain analists got all the numbers on his bingo card to become the next coordinator. The conversation amounted to all of them agreeing that it was the best course of action and would have to do it, but they all thought the new "better" jobs would suck ass, in particular the analist who already was a coordinator a few years prior and it sucked so much that he requested to be DEMOTED back to analist to have some peace of mind.
Actually you're kinda right since this guy managed to tone down Hyogami by accidentally marrying her which in turn mellowed her towards the guy's coworkers
The way she was "guiding" him bordered psychological and emotional torture, it could easily destroy his self esteem in a way only professional help could fix. It's a good thing she understood how wrong it was in the end.
I can't stop laughing with this romantic awkward story 😂 But I swear this really such a great, beautiful and nice story I can't stop imagine how he gonna tell their son or daughter about it 🤣
There was a reddit post about someone accidentally put salt in their coffee in front of his girlfriend they eventually got married and she would buy expensive salt to put in his sugar and that continued for 50 years
The mc here has no balls and a coward to not tell her the truth now she didn't suffer any consequences of her shity attitude towards him. Just like any other story that had the same and the mc ended up just swallow everything and go on at it. He didn't even give her a piece of her own medicine.
The MC did tell her the truth before getting married, which caused her to change her attitude for the better, which ended in him enjoying his work and the two still getting married
He didn't have no balls. He is just takes longer to react than most others. He was going to give his resignation, it was just an accident that it turned into that. He still told her the truth of everything before officially getting married. Giving people "a piece of their own medicine" is not always the best thing. Some people can be reasoned with. But if you go hard at first, you are going to have a hard time resolving issues. Being the better person means putting the stupid to the side first. If they can't be reasoned with after you "actually try" then sure... lay the smacketh down if it comes to that.
In the Japanese culture? Honor, he can't backtrack on his word and left a beautiful and hardworking woman willing to marry you while scaping like a coward would make you look really bad, the kind of actions that would be gossiped in the internet and make be would even reach your new workplace leading to unforeseen consequences. Remember, eastern cultures are radically different from what your are used in the western world.

The better and more savage one, if he did, is right after he realized that he actually handed a wrong paper, he tear that in pieces and left the actual resignation letter and walks away, at least there's no 0 consequences left for her.
This was a nice story, inspite of the cliché of accidentally submitting a marriage certificate instead of a resignation letter. But it was good that Shizuka went from a toxic boss focused more on her status and reputation to a more loving carring wife for Touma that appreciates what he does. It was nice, nice and wholesome. Still doesn't excuse how toxic she was beforehand though. Even as a boss that is still inexcusable how she treated him before the engagement, even if her reason was good. But she did grow as a person thanks to this, and now they are a wholesome and happy couple, and I'm glad the whole toxic boss thing will remain in the past. And hopefully they live a long happy life together. And Touma revealing it was all because of an accident because he was in a rush was good so that their relationship wouldn't be built from a lie and instead from trust and a truth.
when his boss said what was wrong, why didn't he just say right away that he gave the wrong letter that was supposed to be a resignation letter instead became a marriage proposal letter. he stupidly didn't even tell his boss that he gave the wrong letter
Well...he was scared and confused? Plus she was pretty~ why not swim a little deeper? Right? Experience for sake~ her status is good he is lucky. if she reject him he can just say the truth, right? Not like your going die, right?
I would probably check, but if he didn't the story wouldn't happen. On top of that he submitted it because he was mentally exhausted on a regular basis. That may have played into his clumsiness
"Accidentally" more like "Intentionally". But since it's kanon, and kanon only cares about romcom on a MC being mistreated by his beautiful boss, I guess it's fine.
I miss the time when the stories off this channel had sense. Now they are just the same thing always, tsundere and egocentric FMC who mistreat the MC for classic reasons that doesn't make any sense, always excusing It by the phrase "I was embarrased". I've been looking into different romcom channels and all of them starts well but as soon as they grow the quality of those stories goes low quickly... It really sucks so much :///

I think this is the 4th or 5th manga I watched where the MC gives the FMC marriage certificate by accident and they end up marrying each other. Why the hell would you not make this one where the MC clears up the misunderstanding, gives the FMC the actual resignation letter and leave her be. This was stupid.

Shizuka was a really bad Senpai ... she always scolded Tooru instead of giving him constructive criticism 😤 And after he gave her the marriage registration form instead of the resignation letter by mistake she didn't change her attitude at work but was sweet in private 🤔 Great that he told her the truth before their marriage and that she realized that her attitude / training method was counterproductive and changed ... for sure they'll be a sweet and successful couple 😍 Thank you very much for this partly disgruntling video with a sweet and happy end 🥰

Gives us all the details about the position the slept together in the first night, glosses over the reveal of misunderstanding with narration. This short story has good priorities
For everyone wondering why he didn't just clear up the mistake ASAP, the answer is easy. Because then there wouldn't be a story. Stories like this are built around the suspension of disbelief to tell either a humorous or dramatic story that have an obvious solution but isn't used solely so the story the creator wanted to tell is told.
True. The point of stories like this is, “This is what happens when you don’t clear up mistakes ASAP.” Sadly, it happens a lot more in real life than we’d like.
I make no guarantee that I would be processing this fast enough to efficiently clear this specific misunderstanding. There are some things that you just aren't ready to hear, and aren't sure if you actually heard correctly.
These stories always have the guy being scolded for not improving and the reason is because of the working environment as well as personal feelings (in this case, Shizuka's opinion). It's her fault for misguiding him even if she wanted him to grow. I wonder what would she feel if he actually gave in his resignation?

the government officials need to change the document's appearances between resignation form and marriage form. it's no wonder # of mc's marrying to their bosses increased significantly XD
But she isn't toxic at all, its just the guy is not expierenced yet and doesn't pick up hints that she tells to him. You can't improve if every problem will get solved for you or you will burn yourself out if you try to do it alone, which she gave him hint of that too. Being strict doesn't always mean that person hates you and wants you to be miserable and depressed, some times you need to see bigger picture and not think about yourself all the time. I guess at the end of the day the guy was still immature and not yet ready for that kind of workplace, always taking negatives from someone who wants to see you improve will just lead that person to not be able to grow, not being able to grow means he will start to hate his job and workplace and then it will lead to persons resignation.

"If you enjoyed your job, you'd have more ambition." Not necessarily. If he didn't like his job, then he'd have more ambition so that he'd be promoted out of his job. But if he liked his job, he wouldn't want to be promoted, so he'd show no ambition for advancement. That's why I didn't get my Masters degree in Education, nor my PhD. I was afraid that my bosses would force a promotion on me, taking me out of the classroom and putting me in an office as an assistant principal or even as a principal. Running a school is not why I got into Education. I wanted to teach kids, not sit in an office all day being a bureaucrat. Humbug on that!
In this case, he would've been better off telling her the truth straight up and shutting her down... => Who cares how she feels afterwards !? It's just karma. Considering the way she behaved with him, she deserves neither respect nor consideration. She had her chance and she blew it.
At 16:35 I knew thats what she was getting at from the begining but he needed to see that for himself. She was right in front of him and he didnt ask her for help not once. I dont think she is toxic...I just think she is trying to get the best out of her workers with a no BS approach.... Problem is the main character is a punk so he never manned up and simply asked for the help.
Hmmm, I find that I get more abrasive around someone I like, so I think it's the same for her here, but the reason for me being that way is probably my fight or flight kicking in cause fear activates it, so it's probably the fear of rejection that makes me act tough
I can't believe she's single she seems so loving and warm. 😂😂😂 But seriously it would have been more plausible if he said he meant to resign did so and then she pursued him by trying to get him to come back to work and she saw him outside of work and they slowly bonded because he saw her away from work. This seems rushed.
This "accidentally giving marriage certification letter, and guy being so vague about it while handing it" story is soo cliche. I want a story where she actually receives the resignation letter!
Just think about how this story's relationship would be: I mean, the boss (who is not a real leader) has no idea how to train a person and treats him (if not everyone) like trash. If the MC didn't live up to the boss' expectations...I shudder what the MC would be put through and the "marriage" would degenerate down to the boss being a slave master and the MC would degenerate down to a slave or something worse.

It's not that she isn't toxic, but that work culture there is toxic in general.
I thought this was a setup to you marrying your old man boss
@@TheRealLiamHugh lmao, that would've been quite the twist.
Used to have that issue at first. Until I figured out:
I just do my job the best way I can, ask for advice from veteran personel when I'm not sure.
Thing is, the way my former bosses told me things work:
"Do your job and don't become a problem. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, don't know how the owner deals with them."
He also mentioned that companies have a lot of problems finding competent managers because the people who would make excellent managers (that is: people who are passionate about the job and the company and want to see everything improve, from production and efficiency to morale and familiarity) don't actually want to be managers for various reasons that a bigger paycheck can't make up for.
And I witnessed that firsthand:
When the overseer of the sector I was working at retired, one of the members of The Board showed up to talk about it, along with the supervisor and the coordinator.
This guy was a hero for his coworkers.

The mc here has no balls and a coward to not tell her the truth now she didn't suffer any consequences of her shity attitude towards him. Just like any other story that had the same and the mc ended up just swallow everything and go on at it. He didn't even give her a piece of her own medicine.
Lmao
We need more like this, it’s an interesting and wholesome premise
I know that the story was already too long, but I would like to see the revelation onscreen and how she actually changed her attitude.
Him: I can't tell her it was a mistake!
Me: Yes you can! You're resigning! You're never gonna see her again after that, so why would it matter?
A lingering sense of guilt?

Loved the story Kanon!
Cliche? Cliche your face! Sounds like you have some originality idea.
not toxic
just how the way work culture work around east asia or any places with strcik work culture
Their kids: so mom and dad, how did you get married?
Tooru: funny story.
The way she said "Ill be more strict" had me worried for this man
1:21 damn, she was screaming...every sound that came before sounded like a whisper compared to it.
Tooru got "wonder of u" to reverse her effect on him
when his boss said what was wrong, why didn't he just say right away that he gave the wrong letter that was supposed to be a resignation letter instead became a marriage proposal letter. he stupidly didn't even tell his boss that he gave the wrong letter
Well...he was scared and confused? Plus she was pretty~ why not swim a little deeper? Right? Experience for sake~ her status is good he is lucky. if she reject him he can just say the truth, right? Not like your going die, right?
I would have destroyed that certificate when I got to know.
Sometimes, a simple mistake can be your life changing moment. At least he was honest with her about his small error.
i need a part 2 of this, scolding their children >:3
14:05 for those wondering what's written here.
Shizuka:"Atsui?" (Is it hot?)
Tooru:"Daijoubu desu (it's okay)
I know it is a fictional story, but he should see the form before submitting to her.
Seriously, when I quit my last job I knew it was my letter of resignation and I still checked it 3-4 times.
I would probably check, but if he didn't the story wouldn't happen. On top of that he submitted it because he was mentally exhausted on a regular basis. That may have played into his clumsiness
That sound of a record scratch sound effect felt like a perfect missed opportunity when she learned of the mistake had her reaction been shown.
"it's how you try to do everything on your own and don't ask your seniors or other people like me for help"
exacly why my managers scold me
i pray for a story similar to this but the MC just straight up says that it was a mistake instead of this spineless move. and the wait continues.
Wait a second she's kind of cute
"Accidentally" more like "Intentionally". But since it's kanon, and kanon only cares about romcom on a MC being mistreated by his beautiful boss, I guess it's fine.
I miss the time when the stories off this channel had sense. Now they are just the same thing always, tsundere and egocentric FMC who mistreat the MC for classic reasons that doesn't make any sense, always excusing It by the phrase "I was embarrased".
I've been looking into different romcom channels and all of them starts well but as soon as they grow the quality of those stories goes low quickly...
It really sucks so much :///

Probably the best rom com I saw 😂😂😂
I think this is the 4th or 5th manga I watched where the MC gives the FMC marriage certificate by accident and they end up marrying each other. Why the hell would you not make this one where the MC clears up the misunderstanding, gives the FMC the actual resignation letter and leave her be. This was stupid.
unfortunately authors can't write a story with common sense
I feel the same way about a male mc that is surrounded by a girl who likes him and he’s just acting scared no spine at all we all grown here who’s finna run away from a girl who trying to love you
Because then there wouldn't be a story. Stories like this are built around the suspension of disbelief to tell either a humorous or dramatic story that have an obvious solution but isn't used solely so the story the creator wanted to tell is told.
@@SebasTian58323 They could easily take what I said as a plot and build up to the part where the MC decides to quit. @@kuroyami6289 because that's not the story the creator wanted to tell. It's the story you wanted. There's a difference. They could've done what you said, but they didn't want to tell a story where he leaves and gets a different job and gets a different girlfriend. They wanted to tell this one.

Shizuka was a really bad Senpai ... she always scolded Tooru instead of giving him constructive criticism 😤 And after he gave her the marriage registration form instead of the resignation letter by mistake she didn't change her attitude at work but was sweet in private 🤔 Great that he told her the truth before their marriage and that she realized that her attitude / training method was counterproductive and changed ... for sure they'll be a sweet and successful couple 😍

These stories always have the guy being scolded for not improving and the reason is because of the working environment as well as personal feelings (in this case, Shizuka's opinion). It's her fault for misguiding him even if she wanted him to grow. I wonder what would she feel if he actually gave in his resignation?
This romcom manga actually proves what fresh and fit says about a career woman being conditionally submissive, how a woman who has a career and makes a lot of money makes it hard to turn off her personality from work at home. GOD DAMN they be on point ! Smash only.
Dude it's just a story it doesn't prove anything. Take my advice and ignore theirs. They know about women about as much as I know about politics in Uzbekistan (not much).
@@normaltoast2811 No. They know A LOT. To the point where when I draw back to experiences i've been through, my friends been through, family's been through, local cases involving a man and woman about cheating, murder etc, they be spittin facts.
If i'm with one woman I won't cheat i'm the type to have my fun in my younger years and let the girls know up front that I don't wanna relationship and I'll settle down with one woman. If i'm rich the dream is multiple but thats a dream.
If I didn't agree with what they were saying I wouldn't watch them period but they spit so much facts its very hard to disagree. People only disagree because of a out of context clip that was only 15 seconds out of a 2 to 3 hour podcast.
I look into the details fully and don't judge off of headlines like how a lot of people like to do nowadays cause they're to lazy to do their research. The statistics, the analogies, I mean the women who come on their show prove A LOT of what they say about women.

Bro got the biggest plot twist ever
I would just run away if i accidentally gave her the marriage certificate
Hmmm, I find that I get more abrasive around someone I like, so I think it's the same for her here, but the reason for me being that way is probably my fight or flight kicking in cause fear activates it, so it's probably the fear of rejection that makes me act tough
I can't believe she's single she seems so loving and warm. 😂😂😂
But seriously it would have been more plausible if he said he meant to resign did so and then she pursued him by trying to get him to come back to work and she saw him outside of work and they slowly bonded because he saw her away from work.
