Definitely one of my all time favourites. Isn't she lovely?. Genial, genial, every bit of her. God Bless You, Dear Martina. Thank You for the memories. Stay Healthy.
ahe is one of my top 5 greatest players . the 1999 French Open was one of the unforgettable games, but it happened for a remarkable reason...and that was Steffi and Agassi's start of their love story
Thank you for interview Ksenia Pervak, Did you ask about 99 roland garros final match to Martina Hingis out of interview ? Was the ball in or out really ? Because we were very sad for Martina Hingis and we saw in. She played unbelieveble match against steffi graf. When i was a child I always watched her every matches and loved. In my opinion Martina Hingis is the most talented tennis player all the time. And she always will live in our hearts as the champion. Never worry Legend Martina. The French there didn't deserve to watch a talent like you. Greetings and loves from Turkey.
I know your comment is 2 years old, but I'm replying anyway! That ball was almost certainly in. I have no doubt that if Hawkeye existed back then, it would've been overruled. Unfortunately, Martina lost every ounce of her composure after that. I'd never seen her break down mentally like it. I often wondered if she was genuinely overwhelmed for the first time in her career. Up against a tennis legend, an outright hostile and borderline vitriolic crowd, desperately trying to win the missing Grand Slam from her cabinet. On top of being world number 1 with the expectation of winning it.
Hingis ! Very humble ! big- hearted ! Gentle ! Intelligent a lot ! Always smiling ! Talk nicely ! That is why always lovable from the day she started international tennis and till now ! 👋👋🌹🌹💚💚
Dang, she’s still pretty. And that amazing smile🥰 Always loved to watch interviews she would do during her playing days. And LOVED that she was not afraid of playing the Williams sisters and would talk 🤬hit about going to beat them too. Her record against the two was pretty amazing. Against Serena she finished her career with a 7-6 record with Serena edging her. And, with Venus, Hingis has the better record in 21 meetings at 11-10. That era was the last times I watched tennis on weekends. I miss the women that played in the pre-2000’s. Players like Hingis, Steffi Graf, Jen Capriati, Monica Seles, Lindsey Davenport, And even prior to that, when watching with my dad, who was a State finalist in California back in the ‘60’s, as a kid when Martina Navratilova, Tracey Austin, Chris Evert-Lloyd among them.
She is very articulate in her speech! Although, she couldn't play the power game of Williams sisters, her shot-making was intelligent and placements were accurate and tough to reach! She could have won many more grand slams!!!
The injuries didn't help. That's why she initially retired at 22. Martina remains my favourite player, but her serve was a liability in the power era. I often wondered why she didn't look at someone like Henin in that regard, who was even smaller than Martina but her serve was still a weapon. Despite that shortcoming, even when she returned to the sport the first time, she remained a huge threat to the top players. Genius doubles player too, proven by her successes in that area with so many different partners. Just born a fraction too late. If she'd been around in the late 80s early 90s she would undoubtedly have won more singles slams.
She was a very talented, focused, hard-working player. She struggled with some power and fast hitting players and players who hit the ball very deep. Watched her a couple times at Saddlebrook against different hitting players. I like how open she is about everything about tennis.
I could never understand how she managed to be a top player. I was told you have to have a champions serve and be taller and stronger than other players to be champion. Martina Hingis proved this all wrong.
You think she's humble? Maybe she sounds that way in an interview, but I think she's a cocky little bitch on court. Or certainly used to be. That's what I've always loved about her.
humble my ass. she trashed every single opponent when she was playing singles. even anna kournikova... which was her doubles partner. she was a mouthy brat until steffi destroyed her and ended her single career. plus .. she was banned for cocaine use. that's anything but humble or classy.
Agree with everyone saying how she has come into her beauty and also come into her own as a person. So happy to see her still winning in doubles. Also love her shirt!

As I posted earlier…her record proves this by having records against two of THEE premier players in Serena Williams (7-6, Williams with the lead)…and Venus(11-10) being VERY competitive and strong.
