"I'm just here so I won't get fined." - Robert De Niro
I love how De Niro looks so done the entire time 😂
Wade Wilson Mr. De Niro mannerisms alone its makes his movies so great !! For example the movie Heat when he was sitting across from Mr. Pacino both there eyes told, sold and stole the scene !!
@@williamcarter9066 what the fuck are you on about mate
To be fair, we don't know how many stupid interviews De Niro had to sit through before Jake.
Get me out ta here
Dudes 200 years old
Two absolute legends. Bale seems like a genuinely nice person.
Bale showcases about 8 accents during this interview. Oscar worthy
Went Australian in between them
Arguably two of the greatest actors of their generations.
You go ask them! They'll tell you!
@@TheTuubster A little Rickles reference there?
Arguably?? Cool duh thanks
there's literally no arguement
@@cr-it5lh umm Al Pacino is better than De Niro and I think Leo beats bale soo
"Little bit more of a legend right here than here" lol. So humble
Gotta love deniros upbeat positive attitude 🤣
Aging bull
He's chill 😁
Thank goodness Christian was there & engaging, Bob, the legend that he is, looked zoned out altogether, as you would be at his age, having done a million interviews prior.
De Niro is an aging bull
He has always been like this in interviews
Its always been his personality. Honestly, hes not a very likable guy, and is a creep, to be frank. Great actor, i'll give him his props. But a pretty lousy person. Another Hollywood perv like Weinstein. Especially when you read into his bizarre womanizing habits going back to the 70's. He would literally stalk women down alleyways in his car, and pressure them to give him their phone numbers. He was doing this during the days when he was doing things like Taxi Driver.
Christian Bale is such a modest, pleasant and open-minded person. I'm looking forward to seeing Amsterdam!
Christian Bale's accent literally changes every 5 minutes it seems 😂😂
“I just didn’t see it” - De Niro on Ledger’s Joker. Just pure disdain lmao
Bale and De Niro in the same interview. Two powerhouses of method acting.
I dont think deniro is a method actor
@@joebama6655 De Niro was certainly a method actor in his youth
Bale is nowhere…..to tom hardy, leonardo, DDL
@@ayushsarangi7242Stop your nonsense.
DeNiro is just so casual.. admitting that he didn’t see The Dark Knight 🫡
Haha.. love that "I just didnt see it..."
he most probably didnt watch the film he starred in with the Joker 🤣
Heath and Joaquin were good friends and look what they both did with joker
I find that fact kinda sweet. Almost poetic in a way.
Heath was an amazing joker, Joaquin played a guy with a mental illness in clown makeup.
DeNiro looked soooooo through (and uninterested) with that whole interview 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Taxi Driver x American Psycho
“I’m gonna jump into this cuz I gotta thousand questions for ya” is by this point the iconic Jake Hamilton interview opener
You are without a doubt the greatest film interviewer out there. Your energy is amazing and you always find a way to connect with your interviewees
Those two seats contains Legends, It's seems like a Dream watching
Christian Bale and Robert De Niro together 😍😍😍
The old legends like DeNiro and Harrison Ford just are not star struck by anything anymore, are not flattered when someone says "you're my hero" because they've heard it 75 million times haha. I wonder what actually excites these guys.
That would be a great interview question. 🙂
De Niro just wants to leave lol
He hates talking to people. He’s like opossite to all of his characters in the movies. He hates talking
*But he always wants to leave, that’s him*
@@stevemuzak8526 why is he even doing a press like this if he hate
He's Travis Bickle , anything surprising ?
@@ghostland8646 Contractual obligation.
Bale putting on his best phone voice for DeNiro.
This is perhaps the most engaged I've seen Bale in an interview ever. Prepared questions and well thought out, and it seemed like he appreciated the work behind the scenes.
Bale still having a 50% American accent here
I would love Heat remake with Bale as Pacino and DiCaprio as DeNiro
Public Enemies...a movie by same director..has Bale and Johnny depp
DiCaprio is NOT believable as a tough guy lol wtf are u smoking? He's a good actor, but just no.
No
Maybe Bale and Pitt. I can see Pitt being the cop Pacino’s character and Bale as De Niro’s character.
Sort of unrelated but I’ve seen Tom Hiddleston do that entire scene at the restaurant- impersonating each of them and he did it in front of De Niro 😂😂. It’s searchable on YT and took place on a British talk show Graham Norton. That show is great by the way so watch it u will get hooked. Everybody comes on that show and gets loose 😂😂. All of Hollywood has been on that show with a few notable exceptions including Bale 😂. He’s still not doing talk shows and I get it but man I wish he would do it.
I don’t know if Tom could pull it off as one of the main characters but I could see him as Val Kilmer’s character for sure.
@@nikkinewbie6014 Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton would work
Oh man, De Niro does NOT like getting his a** kissed. But what can you say? Travis Bickle, Rupert Pupkin, Jimmy Conway, Jake Lamotta, Max Cady, Johnny Boy, Al Capone, Michael The Deer Hunter, et al.....the guy's got a huge gallery of indisputably classic performances!
Your interviews are the best
I kind of understand De Niro's attitude… the thing is that he gets called the highest superlatives (“the best ever”, “the legend”, etc…) on every single interview.
Put yourself in his shoes… that's an awkward position.. you can't just sit and accept, “yeah, I'm amazing, I'm a god, basically”, and to instead to make that humble face of “oh, imagine that” must feel exhausting and fake after a while.
Compliments are tricky. We all love admiration and recognition, but once it gets shot at us massively every second of our interaction with people, it's not a comfortable thing.
best actors of 20th and 21st century
Great interview! Thanks! 👍🙂
Excellent Jake. Great attitude. Thank you.
3:10
The man is so tired of all the praises he earned over the years that he decided to give a tiresome face of "yeah, here they go again" , as Bale went on to describe how great Robert de Niro is 🤣😅
GOAT For a reason 🐐
Christian Bale is trying so hard to cheer up De Niro and his efforts are failing miserably lmfao. He's like that old, done with life grandparent you want desperately to infuse some enthusiasm for life back into and they're just not having it.
It’s more like Christian is honestly fan boying over De Niro showing his mass respect and “Bob” is just like yeah whatever. Don’t know if he has something against Bale but he seems dry af and is not even bothering to be at all gracious.
@@nikkinewbie6014 Hes always dry af. Because hes a dry person and always has been. I mean he literally plays the same character in every film. Low humor, overly serious. But its his creepy Weinstein style womanizing that really does it for me. I have no clue how he survived the MeToo thing completely unscathed. Definitely a guy that gets his ass kissed far more than he deserves
@@billybob5337 Yeah I tend to believe you’re right. Because there’s another video of an interview and Christian and “Bob” are on the exact same set only they are being interviewed by a young woman. Bob is all smiled in that one and suddenly he’s not dry. He’s laughing and talking about enjoying working with Christian etc. 😂😂😀. Complete 180. To give benefit of the doubt maybe the young woman interviewed them early and this dude might have been late in the day and maybe by then he was just tired..,but the difference in his energy is quite remarkable 😂😂😂😂
@@nikkinewbie6014 Lol, i hear you. The more i found out about the guy, the less i liked him. Hes a jerk and a creep. Multiple stories about him stalking women in his car back in the 70's, demanding that they give him their number. Using his celebrity to pressure them. Following them around corners and down alley ways.
@@billybob5337 Yikes! Yeah I don’t have trouble believing that. He has always seemed somewhat arrogant and entitled to me whenever I saw him in between movies which wasn’t often.
Everyone saying Deniro hates this interview but I just think father time is catching up. Kind of sad actually, he looks quite lost with the questions and bale seems over enthusiastic to compensate for him 😕
Bale's putting on a characters accent ffs hahahaha
Bales fluid accent on display again
Christian Bale as Santa! Let’s get it going!
Christian Bale playing a badass Santa Claus, sleighing people on the naughty list, and giving out seasons beatings would be a sight to see.

He's an aging bull.
@@mitchlatour1932 Hes far from a humble guy. If you've read into him at all you'd understand
Bale speaking with a bit of an accent, wonder what it’s for.
I remember him saying once that he always try to use the accent which his character in the movie uses when doing interviews and pr for the movie.
@@Frolle89 He was recently shooting the Pale Blue Eye. That being said, he's Welsh so isn't this his natural accent?
@@tonytr87 Christian said in old interview he’s not welsh he’s English he was just born in wales. th-cam.com/video/muo7zu3airQ/w-d-xo.html
@@tonytr87 English is his natural accent. He was just born in Wales and not raised there. He was primarily raised in England and moved around quite a bit in Portugal and America growing up due to the work his father did and his acting. He defiantly made sure to always sound American when doing interviews for Batman since Batman is a iconic American character and he wasn’t sure people would accept an English actor playing such an American character. Plus, it could be that since he’s lived in America for so many years and has played so many Americans as well as had a variety of accents, his voice is probably quite mixed regarding being an English accent or American accent. Might be similar to Gary Oldman, as Oldman said he had to get a dialect couch to sound English for a certain part, I believe Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, as he’s lived in America so long and played so many Americans that he basically sounds American even though he’s English.
What
De Niro is in similar territory with the reporter, he knows what kind of journalism is coming. Call it a New York thing, but we don't know how to play "naive". He knew the bait question was coming, that's why he was trying to tone Christians energy down, he knew this one wasn't worth it.
I'm shocked DeNiro didn't see dark knight
2:50 How to make an actor speechless and Robert De Niro feel more awkward than usual lol
Damn, you'd think de Niro could pretend to give a shit lol
Bale looks like he's put on some weight, maybe for a role? He definitively looked thin in Thor and this one. Thought he was gonna take it easy on the weight changes as it was becoming too much of a health risk
Wouldn't they have filmed Love and Thunder a while ago though?
LOL he's been saying that for like 10 years at this point. I think he's just one of those actors that can't perform in a fat suit
He's normal weight for a 48 year old guy!
@@robertmortimer8288 For the moment😂😂. He’s got need for a cardiologist now he admitted in interview with Matt Damon for F v F. So yeah he needs to be mindful of those drastic changes in weight. Right now his face looks filled out snd he looks more normal weight than he has for awhile to me too.
DeNiro looks grossly unpleased lol
What a clever question, I hadn't made that connection.
holy cinema we got Patrick Bateman and Travis Bickle in 1 room
I dont know why I expected for Robert De Niro to talk in this one
DeNiro never watched Heath-s Joker> god damn
Not having watched "The Dark Knight"... come on man!
I think DeNiro gets praise so many times through this 50 years in cinema he’s bored of it 😂 like the way it ended no not seen his film 😅 ouch
Where is bale from again??? 🤣
it seems like bale was casually doing a robert deniro goodfellas accent mixed with his own, and it looked like deniro was upset with bale. body language and interaction. so strange
Yeah…what was the look at 3:14 or so where Bale is flipping out “he gets to call De Niro “Bob”. He reacts big! But I can’t tell if he’s irritated or…😂😂. Poor Christian. 😌. Bob is acting like Bale is getting on his nerves.
Christian Bale praises deniro for 5 minutes straight and deniro just sits there with a look on his face like he has 5 minutes left to live. deniros strange obsession/hatred for trump has literally turned him into a clown. you know he can't pay attention to bales high praises because all his energy is focused on how much he's thinking about how he hates/loves trump lol
What a bomb of a film
Bale should play Mick Foley
I could see that. 😂😂😂👀. He could maybe get some comedy in on that one. Seeing Bale dressed up and portraying Dude Love? 😂😂😂.
I really doubt this movie is awful. It’s getting mostly review bombed with people always mentioning David O Russell’s shitty past actions and using that as an excuse to crap on it.
Why does DeNiro seem so angry and unhappy? 🤦🏿♂️
I think that's just his face. lol
He is old. He doesn't know if you are talking to him.
He’s never been the chirpy type.
because Donald Trump is living in his head rent free.
@@Pingaheimer what
He could have asked them to compare their body weight shifting methods
Didn't know bale was from new york
🤣🍺
the shilling against this movie in industry reviews proves that the oligarchs smedley butler warned about are still needing to be addressed and their monopolies broken up.
christian for the oscar in amsterdam.
God, De niro should been play'd Carmine falcone in Batman begins!!! what a waste, but a man can dream...
GMTFOutahea! =Deniro.
De Niro has never seen The Dark Knight despite being a voting member of The Academy Awards..?
Did u notice the edit? Like they cut something out, that was awkward.
There was no way deniro saw dark knight, he doesn't seem like the kind of guy to watch superhero movies. The first part of the question was OK but the second part could lead to deniro saying no which it did. I'm sure bale doesn't care but still.
I‘m really shocked that De Niro hasn’t seen Heath Ledger‘s performance, thought it should be part of his preparation for his role in „The Joker“ or at least out of respect & curiosity for an Oscar winning performance, kind of disappointing. Think I‘m too much of a cinema romantic
Deniro didnt see the dark knight. Haha
In this interview Bale is doing De Niro better than De Niro.
🐐
first? love u jake
kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk 🤣🤣🤣
Omggggg
De Niro could care less about being there
Bale over acts in Amsterdam to the point of comedy.
DeNiro at his most unenthusiastic
It's hard to take Christian seriously if he's just acting this whole time. He's playing a character here. A bit disrespectful to the interviewer in my opinion. De Niro must think Bale's an idiot. Imagine talking to him off camera and he's British and then he steps in front of the camera and he's American. I'd be rolling my eyes. No wonder De Niro looks fed up.
What?? He’s still using his natural Southern England accent throughout. His accent is hopelessly muddled after him living here in the US for thirty years. He talks about his accent in another video and how like in behind the scenes footage it’s often half English and half whatever else off camera.
I think he’s being very genuine, engaged and excited because he’s being interviewed with someone he holds in the highest esteem. It must seem surreal to him. When the interviewer asks him what he thought about De Niro when he was getting started himself that “yeah!” At about 3:02 and that obvious joy and reverence in his face is genuine. He’s not playing a role here at all.
And for what it’s worth, Bale did officially become an American citizen years ago. So he IS American now but I know what you meant.
Why does Christian Bale exaggerate his English cockney accent?
Joke's Takes 🤣
I hate when they say as an actor 😡
Let me be the one to say it, while both men are legends in their own right Christian Bale is a better actor than Robert De Niro. Would love to see Jake do a proper long form sit down the Christian Bale.
Younger De Niro in his prime was just as good as Christian Bale.
If you watch De Niro's films in the 70s-90s you can understand he's iconic for a reason. Very versatile roles
@@paulkem1130 Bale is a better actor.

De niros face expression is like “why the f**k am I here?”
De Niro hasn't been good since the 90's.
Goodfellas, Casino, Heat and few other great movies he's been brilliant. From the early 02's I would say he gone from the serious changes in his acting roles.
Of course de niro is always miserable. He’s a democrat
