Original Z cars(mostly)with original owners are a rarity now. I bought mine 9/24/71, a blue (903) with black interior. Now has 44,000 miles on it and is still in pristine condition. It will go to my son when I pass. Exceptional cars, strong except for the bodies, and very easy to work on. I've raced one since 1986 in SCCA.

I’m 1982 when I turned 20 I almost bought a blue 1971 240Z. I bought a motorcycle instead and that bike tried to kill my wife. The Z needed a new clutch and I did not want to buy a project. I regret that decision.

So when Dennis asks you “what’s your favorite local restaurant?” & doesn’t like your answer, he’ll give you one more chance for you to satisfy his picky pallet. When he doesn’t like your 2nd favorite choice he’ll give up on you by not inviting you.
Then he’ll lie & say “It was recommended we go to Hurtados.”
The evolution to this channel is why I keep watching.

Wow Dennis another amazing find! Back in 1978 the local Datsun dealer had a brand new T top 280Z in a copper metallic that was something like $8,000 dollars back then! Doesn't seem like a lot now but back then I worked in a restaurant and only made maybe $4.50 an hour. So it was way out of my budget but from time to time I still think about how cool that car was! One of a few dream cars that I was not able to get back in the day. It is really cool of you to let your Guys have the option on the motorcycles rather than just doing a quick flip for the profit on them. after market, not stock mirrors ( OE only on drivers side) no chin spoiler (n/g)on fuel system there was a recall and an electric fuel pump added, plus insulation on fuel line. Another little California tip is to squeeze off the pipe that runs coolant thru manifold and put a distributor condenser in the right angle short hose to the block, this will prevent vapor lock

FYI @Dennis Collins, I used to spray Imron. One of it's characteristics is that it is glossiest as sprayed. If you try to cut and buff Imron, it is never as wet looking as it was before buffing. The rule of thumb was if you messed up the paint job somehow, (run, orange peel, dry spray, etc) sand it back and re-spray. Awesome paint otherwise except the isocyanates in the hardener were/are deadly. Probably the first paint that could kill a painter.

Well Dennis! Who would have thought finding a 240 Z from Africa and two cool Motorcycles. Only Dennis! That's who! Looking forward to the catch up videos. A whole show of that would be Fantastic! Richard Rowlands has still got alot of catching up himself. After the 'Original' Gas Monkey show. Dennis has leaped way of head. With his TH-cam Channel. I like Richard's show. But Dennis's is the Best! Congratulations Dennis and team. Great job! Keeping coming. Winter is not far off. We will need the entertainment. We may be broke and freezing. But we will have Dennis's videos to watch! Shawn

Hurtado's is fantastic and you need to go through the Alley right now to get there. There is one over in Little Elm now so a little closer to you.

Nice find, FYI series 1 was from 69(Japan)-mid 71.
An easy way to tell is there will be 2 vents on the hatch and 240Z badge on the C pillar.
    Cheers!

I had a 65 Mustang painted in red Imron back in the late 70's.
Dennis was right, it was called fleet paint, because it was used on buses, airplanes, trucks...the stuff was tough! I was told that you couldn't cut n buff Imron paint, but I did it and it looked awesome.
The Z had an amazing back story too.

Paint then was better and thicker lasted much longer. The water based paint these days is crap.

Kawasaki KV100, what an outstanding find. 100cc two stroke, they had a high/low gearbox making it a ten speed. it was my first bike and I went everywhere on it. It came without the muffler in the exhaust pipe so I designed one when I was in class in highschool only to find out I designed what was already available....
