This is incredible. I got into "Trance dance" late '93 and that developed into a love for Goa in 94/95. I didn't know such dark and powerful Goa (genre) had already been around for years.
The "Dark" genre signaled the end of the Goa spirit. I believe this music was masculine and competitive to see who could be the toughest most dark DJ. The true vibe of raves was beginning to end at this point. When Raves resembled rock concerts, the spirit slowly died and disappeared in the next few years. It is like everything, the true creatives start it then you get the people who want to copy and capitalize from it then it just becomes a competitive market. The day that the party goers turned into an audience for DJs was the day capitalism took over the raves. The real raves had no Stars, no Headline Act. the people were the entertainment and we all had our eyes open and looked at each other with smiles on our faces. The speakers all pointed to the centre of the dance area we were the stars...the dark phase inernalized everybody, people with their eyes closed focusing inside their dark centre or facing the stage to see the Entertainer. The opposite of healing
@@gurubuzzzz I appreciate your opinion on this but I think you're missing what happened next. We learned how to take an audience, get them in a great party mood, then slowly darken the mood until everyone is basically a zombie on the floor. This is the part you hate, and rightly so. But the point is all these people are shedding their egos for the 2 hours they are shambling about having incredible mental experiences. Then we bring in the melodies, the nice bits. Then it's sunrise and you bring in the most beautiful melodic yet powerful rhythmic music that people have ever heard. To have that impacted on you after 3h of ego-shedding contemplative dark psy is nothing short of a religious experience. I was there many times and can attest to this. It's what I used to aspire to as a DJ, I'm not great at it but I do understand what is required.

The title is wrong. This is not a party in Vagator. The police was very strict back in '92, so we had to go to Maharasthra (the state to the immediate north of Goa) to be allowed to party. I recognise myself at 36:46, stumbling in from the top right corner in only blue tights, with Mari in violet. That was my first ecstacy (we used to take LSD instead), just look at that body language, soft and almost feminine 😄 What memories!
Yeah this is 400% Better than what is produced today! I can't be the only one who thinks new psytrance(from 2012-2020) is SHITE ? Hoping the next phase of evolution will make psytrance good again. What lacks is depth and soul, the mega psychotic labyrinths that would make the most SOBER human being start to be in trance-dance. Today, for me, every psytrance song produced from 2012-2020 sounds exactly the same and it sounds more mainstreamish like HardStyle the "ViniVici" bassline in every song *ugh*
Even though this was a little before my first visit to Goa in 96 I can feel the touch of the parties inside. Thanks for sharing them, it is with a sense of nostalgia, wonder and tinge of melancholy I watch. I love these videos, thanks !
In the early days the music at the party started at a lower vibe and would slowly build up and after midnight it would ramp up to total chaos. As the first light came the beat would aknowledge that it was sunrise and the beat would slowly unwind until it was spacious music that was around 110bpm. The newer way of DJs being unrelenting and keeping the BPM high and the vibe hectic right through sunrise, I believe, nurtures adictive behaviour. People get tired and then take more drugs to keep going. It also create a introverted experience. The original vibe was an outward expression. The new music reflects the emotional blockages of the ego driven Rock Star DJ imposing their chilhood traumas on the dance floor.
Exactly. But I'd say up to '93...when focus on production methods started to change dramatically, and become more rigid in the "trance" exclusive worlds. By '95, trance became many things, but the "progressive" infiltrated all of it back then. On the other side, psytrance became all about the primary that bass note & kick....and the formula is still followed to this day (no synths). The best of Goa was the early years, and the music that crossed over to the clubs in Germany & Belgium at the time. The psytrance cults of today have no idea. It was Italo/New Beat/industrial-synthwav/ electro/Acid House /TECHNO /Acid Techno/ and daytime-sunrise often had Balearic House stuff played in Ibiza in late 80s. Goa really took a "sound" and ran with it in one direction. It didn't get quite that bad in Thailand til a bit later. I went over several times between '90 & '95. It really changed dramatically. I couldn't get a gig in Goa for a big party that entire stretch. They had it wrapped up tight - in a scene that I thought was more inclusive than it really was (musically), because of what I witnessed in '90-'92. By 1994, I couldn't get away with playing a Detroit record in SE Asia. I lived in Thailand for a couple years back then, and you could see everything change for the worse in Koh Phangan & Goa. Musically, it became very rigid...which is too bad because, I quite liked Laurent and one of his buddies I met back then. They were true selectors, but couldn't understand the whole cassette, then DAT thing. The audio quality obviously suffered, and that music was commercially available on vinyl. Not a lot of attention to detail was paid to the sound system either. Didn't even see a set of decks at nearly all of the parties in Goa. I come from The Loft school of music in NYC ....David Mancuso's approach to playing music seemed to be a lot like how these guys programmed sets, as the mixing side wasn't as important as what you played in context. The big difference, obviously, is the eclectic element, & a huge focus on the sound system / and gear used to play music. I really don't know why psytrance turned to such formulaic production methods...but there's no denying that's what happened. : (

actually, it's not even in Goa. 1992 partys in Goa have been stopped by the cops , so the freaks went to Maharastra on some beach. Energy very bad, not happy like in Goa. In Goa at the partys everything was spontaneous, the location etc. Here the people went all together to Maharastra and could not leave anymore. But the absolutely wanted to dance, and in GOa it was not possible. See the bodyguards around the djbooth spotting for people with cameras to break (min 11.30) See Goa Gil ealking around at 15.00.
@a w cause all Goa partys was spontaneus, you could come and go. Here the freaks had to travel on buses (some on bikes) to next state, and spend there the hole night.
The bent goan cops lathi charged us and broke up the party(in anjuna?) at this time... Obviously the baksish levels were getting a bit much so they stopped the parties for a while... As i recall it was a bit of a rukus with fighting breaking out here and there.... So much for peace and love..... 🔊🙏🌴

This is not the original soundtrack, most of the images are from me, missinginka, I suppose downloaded from youtube.
that comment of yours is underrated - I looked for the original, it was very different ... am only on the search for completely original videos...
@@psynewsofficial7288 , I don't know who you are, and I added some info to the subject, nothing more.
@@MissingInka I just wanted to say "thank you" for your comment that's all :)
@@MissingInka Yes, the original is your video. That was probably a bit badly put by me. I find yours is more authentic because it has the original audio :)
@@psynewsofficial7288 , you're welcome ! Boom !
opening track??
The original images are not uploaded by me, since I don't like the low picturequality, but by somebody who got them from me on video.
Hello.anders

@@fdhsfffdgrt3333 , with those letters, no clue who you are, and yes, most of the images are mine, and as below, on goabeatz.com you find the original, and others highly recommended, under pay/view 2 euros .

I don't like spécialy all the songs, but the free mind, people in colours, décoration, leaving in France since 23 years, now they make bom bom Musik, all in black or kaki, no psychadellic music, it seems to be better in spain, Pata Nay, if somebody have an Idea or party for 2021! Je suis preneuse....😜🤣👍
actually, it's not even in Goa.
@a w It wasn't. I was there and loved it xx
@@crieff1sand2s Of course i mean, like Goa in the 80's ans 91 season
