The Engine and Set looks Outstanding Art! Seems that Lionel is back on track with getting their locomotives painted in the correct shade of colors this time around. Lionel has really come a long way with the Hiawatha since 1935
This set looks great. I like it. Those colors look great. I have the MR S2 steam locomotive and would look good pulling those passenger cars. Thanks for sharing.
I was really worried about this set, Very glad Lionel kept there word and stayed fairly close to the original TMCC set. Nice overview Art Fantastic set to your collection!
An absolutely beautiful model Art! Congratulations! And I'm pleased to see Lionel went with the original oil-fired 4-4-2 "Atlantic" locomotive. I'm not sure how long the Atlantics lasted but the Hiawatha trains were so successful and populat that later on a streamlined 4-6-4 Hudson was adopted to handle the longer trains. With the Hudson the Milwaukee Road also reverted to coal firing. Thanks for posting!
l have this on order with Berwyns in Chicago. Can't wait. Got hit hard. The Lionel Western Pacific Freight Set is coming and the Nickel Plate Road Freight Set is also coming. Love this hobby but when it rains it pours!
I ordered the same engine but the different passenger cars from legacy station. I hope this means i will be getting it soon. It truly is a beautiful train. I mainly bought this because it is one of my dads favorite trains. He no longer has a layout, but he loves coming over to see mine. This should be a nice surprise for him.
Ah went for the as built paint scheme for the passenger cars. The other scheme that everyone identifies as the Hiawatha paint was a later scheme introduced around 1939, if I’m correct, when the train was re-equipped when they brought the F7 Streamlined Hudsons into service.
Absolutely love this set!! The only complaint is the clam shells for the 18” cars . The 18” cars looks so nice going around the layout compared to 21” cars.
@@ArtsModelTrains Thank you! Sorry for another question, but where did you purchase these?, I only see them as pre-order from all the major retailers, can't find anyone that has this locomotive in stock.
Nice looking train Art. I debated this one heavily being from the Milwaukee area when I was younger. But the minimum curve and price point pushed me to settle for my ABA Milwaukee Road E6 set. But your set looks fantastic. Ken
Looks like they reversed the light codes for the headlight and the mars light. The headlight (top) should work like a headlight and the mars light (bottom) should work like a mars light. Also, it's white instead of red.
@@conductorjohnmthtrains2239 the locomotive actually wasn't that bad when you compare it to other legacy locomotives but the passenger cars were a lot. I wish Lionel did a 4 pack and two pack vs a 3 pack to make the add on cars more reasonable
@@daivdwalker2374 the locomotive didn't have a whistle it had a horn, so the whistle steam didn't make sense, it does have pop off steam which is activated through aux 3 and is essentially the same thing with a different sound
lionel got mars light wrong not supposed to be on the top. That’s where the headlight is. The Mars light supposed to be in the bottom and the light should be red. Glad I ordered engine number one.

@@ArtsModelTrainsI respectfully disagree, I ordered road number 4 and if I knew it would have had this mars light in the wrong place, I would have switched to ordering any of the others.
Awesome set. Lionel has a winner with this one.
Art first yet again respect this man !!!
Very cool. Happy New Year.

Beautiful set Art! Very impressive! 👍
What a beautiful train. The aluminum cars really add to its appeal.

A beautiful train. 🚂
Beautiful!
Nice maybe if I had a bigger train budget I would get the seaboard version and the passenger cars
Gorgeous set!! How did the locomotive & passenger cars do on your 048 track?
Worked no problem I did a short that is out there on TH-cam that will show it. The passenger cars do have some overhang.

Interesting, I didn't know it was supposed to be opposite, I wonder if I open it up if I could just swap the plugs for those lights?
