Always love to see Rodriguez in the ring. She isn't the most brutal or agressive fighter but really inteligent one. She is agressive at the right moments, holds back early to manage her stamina and pace. And coming back after giving birth, after having to build up her physics back up, get back to training and not fight in two years to such a big match and win is beyond amazing. Very very impressive women and this at such a "young" age

So according to myself and other Muay Thai fighters that I follow:
    Janet won rounds 1 & 2 obviously
    Allycia won rounds 3 & 5
Conflicting opinions on round 4, some say it’s a tie and some others say slight edge to Allycia.
Draws are not allowed in ONE championship so they gave it to Allycia. Fair decision IMO.
Another reason why I believe Allycia won is that she was able to turn the fight around in round 3 and Janet wasn’t able to “get back at her” ever since then. Janet wasn’t able to uphold the “story” she was telling from rounds 1 & 2. That’s the Muay Thai scoring system for you.
Allycia stopped fighting in 2020 after she beat Stamp since she wanted to have a baby. This is her first fight in 2 years

I think you are little bit biased of those rounds 3-5 and don't get me wrong, your comment makes other ways still lot of sense. It's hard to explain because my poor language skills, but I think Allycia don't get anny round so many clean strikes like Janet and those Janet one's, several also had moderately good power(hardly lost because of that).
Almost the only exchanges that allycia clearly won were the two clinch throwdowns in the last round, in the earlier round, of course, she got those individual hits like a every round, but in many time connection with them, she took more hits himself.. I don't know, had to wats again when I find totally uncut material of that fight. Can you remember more specific points in the 3rd and 5th round of the match where you think Allycia clearly took the lead, if you can, timestamp them. Please, don't get angry, my text is rude and korn, sorry about that. 😅

@@JJOV00 Man youre clueless in how Muay Thai is scored. Knees, elbows, kicks, and even sweeps score the most and Allycia had more of those. Also, Allycia looked more aggressive and got more comfortable towards the later rounds and in Thailand judges eyes the last 2-3 rounds are the most important. It was the same case with Stamp... everyone who lacks knowledge on how MT is scored swore up & down that Stamp had won. But if you slow things down and look at how much damage is done (NOT the amount of strikes landed but the variety) you will see Allycia fought intelligenty in both matches.

Clueless Over 20 years kickboxing and may Thai and that how I can say it's really not enough if you push awkwardly forward and only block strikes on your own face, so don't start lecturing and pretending to be a great knower when a large part of those inside the sport were in complete agreement with me and saying same things are in my thoughts. Try to get it that, I don't need the approval of some 15yo wise-cracking incel to see what happened. this match was clearly a politicized victory and it's really sad and only bad for the sport.

      @@JJOV00 Round 3
6:47 Allycia simply uses 1 jab. It stopped Janet dead in her tracks and made her look awkward/hurt so it’s a high scoring jab. Then Janet tried to follow it up with a body kick but got punched and went backward (again it looks like Allycia can make Janet back off/look hurt by few punches). Janet had no answer for the punch so even if body kicks are the highest scoring technique in Muay Thai Allycia won that exchange. To reframe this, it’s as if Janet can try to use different types of attacks but Allycia can simply make her stop with just a simple hook or jab. It’s a sign that you can “affect” your opponent very well while using few attacks, so under Muay Thai scoring I believe Allycia won.
6:52 Janet landed more punches (half of which got blocked), but Allycia gave some back too and made sure that she was the one who ended the exchange. It looks like Janet got backed off by a 1-2 meanwhile Allycia didn’t look affected by Janet’s punches. Even though Janet punched more Allycia punched better (and also Allycia was the one who ended the exchange), so Allycia won there. Then after that Janet tied her up and Allycia was the one who won in the clinch.
7:09 after the clinch ends Allycia teeps and was the one who landed better punches and they clinched again, and Allycia won again.
7:34 Janet’s head kick is daring and beautiful, but it does nothing, so it scores nothing. Then she got blitzed. She tried to deliver a 1-2 but got interrupted by an elbow, so even if 1 punch landed Allycia would win that exchange since she ruined whatever Janet was doing with the elbow. Then after that she got backed off to the cage by an elbow jab and got elbowed and punched again without delivering any meaningful replies.
7:53 Janet stops Allycia with an elbow and becomes like a matador, she redirects the aggressive Allycia in the clinch and presses her against the cage. Janet could’ve won that exchange but since she didn’t actually deliver any attacks in the clinch she didn’t score. Allycia wins with her elbows.
8:24 The ref has to timeout due to Janet’s cut. Allycia scores in damage.
9:08 in the final 30 seconds Janet is the one winning the non-clinch exchanges but it’s too little too late. Also, they end up
clinching and Allycia was delivering strong knees that Janet couldn’t do anything about. Allycia takes round 3
      Round 5
15:15 Allycia stops Janet with a body kick and blocks a kick that doesn’t really score since it’s clear that the kick was awkward and weak. Then after that they tie up and Allycia narrowly wins in the clinch (she got bonus points since she was redirecting Janet and was clearly delivering stronger knees than Janet was. She also snuck in an elbow)
15:41 pretty evenly matched exchange but once they start clinching Allycia wins again.
16:01 Janet pummels a 1-2 which was defended, and Allycia wins again with a body kick (again body kicks are the highest scoring technique in Muay Thai. It also helps that Allycia was the one who ended the exchange). After that Allycia not only defends well but also walks through the kick and punches (this will cause Janet to not score as much as she possibly could. It looks like Janet can’t hurt Allycia as she calmly moves forward) and they clinch again and Allycia wins the whole exchange by winning by a large margin with the knees
16:25 Janet’s 1-2 is blocked and they clinch again and Allycia wins again
16:53 Allycia defends and delivers a kick (I like this kick because even though Janet checks it, it still goes through and hits her in the stomach). Then after that Allycia makes it look like Janet can’t do anything with her punches anymore. Then Allycia kicks her body, Janet only lands 1 punch and they clinch again and you know who wins
17:29 Allycia keeps interrupting Janet’s punching combos with body kicks. She does it 3 times. The announcers say that Muay Thai is scored per round and not as a whole which is WRONG. Allycia takes round 5.
Even if round 4 was a draw, Allycia would still win fair and square since she turned the fight on its head on round 3 and prevented Janet from bouncing back even in round 4.

Its not about who lands MORE, its the VARIETY of weapons used that gave Allycia the edge. She was dominate in the clinch, landed more knees in the clinch, landed significantly more elbows, and even had a sweep. Doesnt matter how many shots Janet landed in the first 2 rounds, Allycia did more damage and that looks good in the judges eyes. Elbows & knees score higher than kicks and the lowest scoring attack are punches. This is how the Thais view their sport, not how you THINK it is.

    • @InfightstyleMuayThai
      @InfightstyleMuayThai ปีที่แล้ว

@@johnrivera6085 incorrect, this is not how ONE scoring works. ONE scoring has no relation to MuayThai scoring, the scoring is based off damage almost solely for ONE, the #1 scoring criteria is a knockdown, thats why they are called sometimes prematurely. Allycia did more damage in this fight and this is why she won, all strikes are scored the same, including punches. Yes it does not matter who landed more strikes, but who caused more damage.
