Those are some skookum nineteen hundred elevens... Also nice to see big tex getting some love... Those dudes are solid as they come and the way all gun stuff companies should be!
Im a gunsmith who specializes in 1911s, the funny thing is that the smoothest slide to frame i have ever seen was in an illegal shop in the Phillipines that was built on a ww1 frame and slide that was us property marked. The owner of the shop said his grandfather was given the pistol by an American when the americans invaded to fight the Japanese. His grandfather was a guide for us forces.
I use diamond paste, it looks like they use zircon or pumice. The diamond uses less material but the zircon and pumice are cheaper. The difference is that I make a fraction of the amount they do. I have an amt longslide that I bought from amt as a kit, the slide didn't fit when I got it, it was my project for my keystone project. I use Bailey bushings and measure the barrel and fit it to the bushing. You will shoot the barrel out before the bushing goes.
Since my call of duty days circa 2007 i always wanted to have a supressed 1911. I know it may not live up to the 15 years of hype I generated in my mind but my GA bushwhacker 46 is in atf jail and I bought my first 1911 a Dan wesson vigil with the TB. Hope to own an Alchemy at some point. Awesome to peek behind the curtain there at alchemy.
You said you couldn’t think of another current production gun with the history of the 1911; I would suggest perhaps the Colt 1873 Peacemaker. Companies still make different variants of that design. Not on the same scale as 1911s, and not so much for actual carry/defensive use, but you got competition ones.
Thanks for the tour and especially having Eli on again. He is such a character. I always wait for one of his quotable "Eli-isms" and am never disappointed. I actually keep a couple of them written down next to my computer. My favorite is "You can't get into the Celestial Gates carrying a polymer gun" and adding today's gem "God wants us to drive V8s and carry 1911s".
Great video went to the website to check them out. Oh my God they are sexy firearms definitely will get one when the piggy bank is full. That Quantico Carry oh my goodness.
Another few traits of the Glock besides cheap and reliable, would be excellent performance, parts compatibility, light, tragically good mags, lifetime round count without smithing, less finicky to ammunition shape or velocity, and a host of other positive qualities. It may be soulless, but it’s also a savage. 1911’s market themselves almost entirely on history, Americana, hand built, fit and finish, and other points that might make a person buy a Rolex to show off. The reality is, it’s the trigger alone that carries the 1911 over its magazine reliability deficits and feeding issues. That said I love the 1911 as I do the Garand. I also like my 66 Chevelle 427 4speed, and it can’t hold a candle to a modern car in performance, but it does have a soul.
"In current production, still used in a duty capacity?" I'd say the Mauser 98 is up there. Derivatives are still being made, many old ones are still in armories.
Great craftsmanship. Seemed vague on where the frames and slides come from? Kind of looks like they are just refining and fitting someone else's parts to make a gun?
I never leave comments, but I want to try and explain why polymer striker pistols have captivated so many communities within the gun industry, specifically the LEO and MIL communities. I will start by saying that a reputable and quality 1911/2011 is probably the finest pistol money can buy. However; it is not a gun anyone needs, it is a gun that people want. It is a luxury pistol. Most Local, state, and federal law enforcement have chosen Glock over other companies due to the comment mentioned in the beginning of the video, yes it is cheap (dollars and cents) and reliable. Glock also has decades of reliability and a solid warranty, especially for Gov Agencies. Most law enforcement and even military budget boards will never be able to justify spending $3000 all the way to $9000 dollars for a single pistol. Second, many (not all) people within Law enforcement and military are not gun savvy and have the minimum training and do not regularly maintain the issued firearm. 2011's like to be wet, they need to be regularly maintained and oiled. Some might even say that this could be a risk for a cop or soldier. Example, Border Patrol operates in a very dusty, dirty, and dry environment. Not only would they have to make sure the gun is oiled and cleaned regularly, but the oil could actually attract dust and debris, possibly clogging the gun from operating reliably. For this reason Government entities want a firearm that goes bang every pull of the trigger regardless of the maintenance schedule. Thirdly, most cops and soldiers make terrible money. I remember making $47,500 a year in 2019 at 8 years in law enforcement when I made the switch from local to Federal. With a wife and 3 kids, buying a 500 dollar Glock was a significantly wiser purchase than a $4000 2011. Its not that most refuse to buy a 2011, its that most can't afford it. If I can't afford a $4000 dollar vacation for my family, what kind of selfish asshole would I be buying a $4000 2011 for myself. I think most soldiers and police officers who have the responsibility of a family would agree with me. Lastly, most cops and soldiers shoot and train for two reasons, to be prepared for the challenges of the job and also because it is fun to shoot. Many of us train and compete with a similar platform to what we use at work so that we are very comfortable with our craft at work. Hence why most buy and use polymer striker guns. I hope this puts it in perspective. Its not that we polymer wonder 9 owners hate the 2011, its that we just can't afford it, I think I've said this like 3 times in this paragraph lol. The price point is outrageous. A 1911 in 1960 ranged between $12 and $35. Compared to $3000 in modern America with the same quality of fit and finish, come on, its outrageous. Cars are no different. A suburban in 1985 was $12K brand new. In 2024, a suburban is $73K brand new. In 1958, my grandfather made roughly $15K a year. He was able to buy 20 acres and build a 2100 square foot farm house in a rural paradise for $26k. He also bought a brand new Colt 1911 GI model in 1974 for $216 bucks brand new. I make a little over $100K a year and could barely afford my 1800 square foot home on a 1/4 acre. Inflation is garbage across the board, including the 1911/2011 market.
Truth bombs got me all worked up. Tisas... Be An American Get you a 1911... Breakin - I'll use letters... LB, still reocommends a 500 round break in today. EB who makes perfect firearms ready to go out of the box. Well, some say sarcasm is a gift. Enjoyed how Eli Handled the aspiration and goal setting for a fine hand built custom 1911 VERY WELL. I believe he can sell igloos to Eskimos. Gifted. Ok gonna look at adding an ACW to the stable.
Love my 1911s. Over anything. They feel natural. You're right about glocks. Cheap and reliable. I do have one double stack 1911. It's a little heavy but workable.
I read something to the effect that holding a 1911 was like shaking the hand of a friend you hadn't seen in a very long time. That's how I feel when I hold one of my 1911's. The pistol fits my hand like it belongs.
Omg sort out the high pitched noise from the background I realise you’re in a factory but man I couldn’t listen to half of what you were even saying! I am from the uk but given a choice I would choose a 1911 over any other handgun! Keep up the awesome work and Ammmmrica F**** yeah!!!
I’m curious about how modern machining, multi axis cnc, and tolerances getting tighter and tighter can’t be better than human hand fitting. I understand the value of old time hand crafted products but I’ve seen what modern machines can do and with all my years as a mechanical engineer I can’t feel the variances that these machines can.
I’ve noticed that Chris is missing in a lot of these. He’s been such an inspiration to me, as a Viking American myself, I’m on the taller end of the spectrum. He has such patient with that ginger fella. Always helping Jake out, talking softly and slowly to him so he understands, and making sure Jake is safe with these weapons I’m sure. I’m wandering if he has to help disassemble the guns because of Jake’s poor hand strength, he seems to admit it in this video. It’s no wonder Chris is on his way to heaven. I’m joking guys. Love the videos, all of you. It just strikes me as funny when Jake has to admit a failing in camera. I don’t know why. And it seems like it happens in every other video. 😂
I've carried a 1911 almost every day for over 30 years. You get what you pay for. If I were to leave my daughter a Glock, I'm 100% positive she would piss in my casket, during my funeral. Lol. Thanks for sharing.
Totally agree. I never thought about a Glock or other boring pistol like that - but it's so true. Some guns you just want to inherit - some you don't. Kind of brilliant. 🙂

Extremely insightful
Eli "I've had seven, eight, nine thousand 1500"
Now I know why the $$$ high price! So much love in those pistols! 👍
🇺🇸🍻
Omg sort out the high pitched noise from the background I realise you’re in a factory but man I couldn’t listen to half of what you were even saying!
I am from the uk but given a choice I would choose a 1911 over any other handgun! Keep up the awesome work and Ammmmrica F**** yeah!!!
Sickness! Made of win
Great video guys.
Ahhhh finally, people are starting to understand!!
67 Eleanor and a custom 1911. That’s it for me.
43:15 "This is center cut mammoth ivory. Real gangster shit."😂😂😂😂
One can be a perfection's fine work of art. The other a plastic, mass produced simple tool, nothing more, nothing less.
Eli can sell! sold me on these pistols!
being a sales rep for merica! good stuff!
Thanks guys
lol classic
I would like to see you do a review on the Springfield armory emp ronin 3” chambered in 9mm black slide
.. The"gun shop scene" from The Quick And The Dead says it all.... But it's you need aBBQ gun.. You're one of those guys...
I have no glocks to put in my will. I don't want my surviving family to speak ill of me.
These are some absolutely gorgeous pistols. Pretty sure in RPG-speak this would be a "mastercraft weapon"
32:00 I really like that there is an actual woman's touch on these Alchemy pistols...
Almost all ACW’s from the last 4 years have had my “woman’s touch” 😂😂😂!
Never seen a 1911 sucked so hard. Love it!
Great video!
That Alchemy marketing guys biceps are huge!
You should see his legs. Staggering
@@1911syndicate What a thought….no sleep for me tonight!
I've carried a 1911 almost every day for over 30 years. You get what you pay for. If I were to leave my daughter a Glock, I'm 100% positive she would piss in my casket, during my funeral. Lol. Thanks for sharing.
Well we wouldn’t want that. Sounds illegal
God damn that is one impressive taco flosser
I don't want to inherit any glock. They're like a disposable gun. 😅
I agree.
Totally agree. I never thought about a Glock or other boring pistol like that - but it's so true. Some guns you just want to inherit - some you don't. Kind of brilliant. 🙂
Thank you for the video and I would say keep up the great work at the company but it seems like you're doing that anyway 👍🏻
Great video thanks gents! He is on a mission from God you love to see it folks! big metal engines and hand made American pistols I'm on board for sure good things.
Merica
Good to see Mac from Super Troopers found a new career. And a good ‘all you can eat’ buffet
lol
LOL.
I met Eli at Hudson Farm at dinner . . . watching this video assures that my next gun is an Alchemy Custom . . .
"There's human beings back there working". " American human beings." Right on
