In 1966 I bought a brand new Chevy SS 396 4speed for $3100 at my cousin Chevy dealership in Lena Illinois this Chevy brings back memories.

Excellent real deal 138 SS hot rod in very good condition. Ear to ear smiles all day long driving it. Love the X pipe cutouts. Looking at the under car pictures on the web site the tranny appears to be a TH350 by the shape of the pan. Definitely not a TH400. Shouldn't be an issue if it was built right.
I know its pride month but those wheels have to swapped out with some cragars

Very nice car but for the price I would want everything to work. Especially the speedometer so I don't get speeding tickets.
That car passes everything on the road but a gas station.
People tend to think that SS automatically translates to $$ and it does in original #s matching (or atleast correct year build) examples but that's not what this is hence the SS does not really mean a whole lot.
For that price I'd think you could get a real SS in good+ condition. Treat it right and she'd be a positive investment. That's not gonna be the case here.

Thats not the case anymore , Chevelles have skyrocketed and we can’t hardly find any. We are having to pay big tickets for Chevelles now
not true, i have a 61 corvette, looks 100% stock, but for american racing wheels, 350 crate motor and a 5 speed stick, if someone wants an old car that can cruse at 80 with good mpg and doesnt care about matching numbers they will pay just as much.

I have a 1971 Malibu that I bought in 1976. There is not supposed to be an overflow bottle, and you are not supposed to fill the radiator to the top. It is marked on the side with fill points for cold and hot.
