I’m not Asian, but I use to love to watch me some Wendy Wu Homecoming Warrior when it came on Disney channel lol and the scene with the moon cakes use to make me SO hungry. I use to crave moon cakes and never even had them before! Totally gonna make these. 😂😂👍🏾👍🏾
I ❤️ the humor while presenting the demo for moon cake.. I can imagine the taste through the looks/outcome.. I feel hungry and craving during and after watching this video ^_^ Thanks for sharing 💚
I was 6 when I lived in West Virginia and my family would go to a Chinese buffet after church. I’m adopted and all the waiters and waitresses would bring me an extra fortune cookie because they thought I was lucky. On lunar New Years, they gave me 6 moon cakes!! They were soooooo good 😋 They were really sweet and I really miss them
@@CookingBomb don’t sweat it I’m a native speaker and I’m still learning. Never forget English is three languages hiding in a trench coat. You speak better than some of my friends.
So I'm not Asian but I have a love for traditional Chinese food. I was lucky enough to have a wonderful Chinese teacher in school who loved bringing in food for us to try at least once and I fell in love with moon cakes
I had these years ago and had completely forgotten about them until I saw this. Even after all this time, the taste immediately came back to me. So delicious!
Thank you so much for sharing your recipes! I spent my teenage years in Shanghai, and still they are some of my best friends! Sometimes I just miss the food, and this takes me back and makes me feel like I can make it myself!
since my Dad works at a Chinese bakery, I always look forward he bring some mooncakes when the festival is near 💗. I like the one with salted egg yolk in it!
hi Vivian. we used an spray bottle for egg wash in the bakery I worked at. you can even use one of those teeny tiny 1 oz 2 oz Beauty sprayers as long as you bought it new and dedicated it to cooking! then whatever you sprayed it it wouldn't damage your delicate designs and hard work! these are beautiful Moon cakes.
The longer the video the longer I'm smiling, she just makes my day and gives me hope knowing when the legendary cooks like Gordon Ramsey and Jamie Oliver retire we still have this wonderful women, Max the meat guy and others like Lisa to keep us going 😊😏😌
I was born and raised in hong kong and i miss moon cakes so much. i used to share them with my friends but i only ever ate the ones with the raw egg yolk in the middle
I have always wanted to make these! I had them once back in high school when I took a Chinese language class and our teacher made them for us and they were amazing!
Carry on with showing the world how to prepare Chinese dishes. Not boring at all. Clearly explained most of the time. Most importantly, I enjoy your editing esp with your twin. I love ❤️ that.
We have a similar dish in the Middle East/Arabian peninsula called Mammol, we use a similar dough and mould, and we stuff it with date paste or pistachios and dust it with powdered sugar. And similar to mooncakes we also make it around holidays, Very delicious.
Thank you so much for making this video! Me and my mum have so many allergies, so knowing that I can make mooncakes with ingredients we are allowed is amazing as I've always wanted to make them!
