    This interview was touching and sad on so many levels... Lee Haney is too good for this world we live in. We are blessed to have been able to bear witness to his spiritual gifts.
    Ron hit it on the head when he talked about how great those times were back in the day. You had to be there to understand. Times have changed a lot and I miss the majesty that bodybuilding once was.
    Thanks for this Kevin, Ron, and Lee.

    Lee contemplated retiring after the 1990 Olympia but his wife talked him into going for the record (which he technically already accomplished considering 1980 being tainted). Lee wouldve won in 83 had he not over dieted. Could've probably won in 82. A possible 10x Olympian

    Genetic Survey : does Haney on account of his slim waist and hips fall in to ectomorph mesomorph or endomorph skeletal frame type. 1# .

    • @wreese37
      @wreese37 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I would say ecto-mesomorph. Small waist, small joints, is that combination.

      After all is said and done i find the rare top-tier genetic natural non enchanced individual more impressive than a Mr Olympia for instance and among others Ronnie Coleman also stands out pre competition days.

    The one thing that no one ever talks about is that all his Olympias were dominant. 8 straight is remarkable. The one question that I wish you would have asked is if he ever considered coming back for a ninth. Every champion never ever really wants to retire. Although Lee was a different beast.

    Aron let's not get it twisted yeah Arnold there was only two people competing against Arnold those were two people that won the mister Universe title cuz I guess you forgot Ron that back then in order to be in the mr. Olympia you have to won the mr. Universe that means beating everybody in the world in the amateur class so Arnold didn't just be two guys he'd be two of the best guys in the world

      I do know my bb history, and the Mr O was just not very competitive back then when there were only a few Pro's in the world. Look at the 90's - there were O shows where you had Dorian, Ronnie, Flex, Kevin, Shawn, Nasser, Vince T, Priest, etc all on stage at once!

  • @mikehito5226

    the judges disagree with Lee. They gave him that round over Lee. Dorian had perfect symmetry, unlike in later years. he had better balance than Lee too. What is Lee talking about????

  • @mikehito5226
    @mikehito5226 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Lee has always struggled with Dorian. He was very petulant after 91. Remember, Lee said he had finally learned how to peak, in 91, yet he retires. I think he saw that Dorian won the muscularity round in his first olympia and here was Lee in his 9th. He knew he would lose in 92 so he retired yet comes out with some excuse about not competing in 93 because the 92 promoter didnt fly him over to 92 show. I lost a lot of respect for him.
