Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. If a Pokémon faints, then it must be permanently boxed.
2. I can only catch the first encounter on each Route.
3. No bag items in battle, except for pokéballs. (Held items are allowed)
4. Must be played on "Set" battle mode.
5. Cannot level over the next gym leader/elite 4's highest level pokémon.

I don’t think that’s how transform / imposter works. Pretty sure the ditto’s nature and IV (except HP) don’t matter at all. It will just copy the target’a stats
Yup learned that the hard way too. You might have noticed that some pkmn actually do outspeed me sometimes since speedtied. I think zebstrika with Elesa and swanna with skyla

I tried to add in some new editing techniques to hopefully make the quality better, let me know how the video looks!
Also, I used this video as a tester for a new editing method. Usually, I come up with the script off the top of my head when stitching the video together and I say whatever. But here I went through all the recordings and wrote a script and did the voiceover THEN stitched the video together to match what I said, and not the other way around. Tell me what you guys think of this.

Idk who made this hack but why is Imposter Ditto given to you for free..? Ditto with Imposter isn't even a bad Pokemon. WITHOUT Imposter however, it IS a bad Pokemon, so I don't really understand why the maker went out of their way to give it Imposter.
Also Tirtouga isn't even bad. They should replace Tirtouga for Goldeen instead or something. Tirtouga learns Shell Smash at lvl38 and that's by far one of the best setup moves and it gets Solid Rock or Sturdy so you're almost guaranteed to get it off either way.

11:25 Why would you setup Klang to +3 Sp. Atk only to pivot out before the "4x weak to Electric moves" Swanna comes in?? You immediately end up regretting this because you take 4 more turns, including risking one of your pokemon, and a pivot to a 3rd mon, when Eviolite Klang would've just OHKO'd Swanna.
Right but remember swanna is faster and can instantly KO with crit water pulse. And klink is too valuable to risk.
@@DocZ The odds of Swanna confusing Klang with Water Pulse are way higher than landing a crit (1/5 vs 1/16), so i would've gone with that as my reasoning. Either way, you risked 2 other pokemon really ineffectively when you could've just sacked Ditto and safely switched to Likcilicki to revenge kill Swanna. (Ditto SUCKS even with Imposter, because you're basically always copying an NPC pokemon with level-up moves, not a competitive target, and without Choice Scarf, you're always risking a speed tie, with Ditto HP, which is a 50/50 every time, and Ditto's HP, one failed speed tie is a dead Ditto anyway.
interesting take. I would strongly disagree on your claims of ineffective risks. In my mind, Swanna WAS the most sackable Pkmn on the team since it sees no value past Skyla, and Lickylicky at the health it had could only die to 3 consecutive crits which is considered statistically insignificant. Also, I would putting a bit more praise on Ditto. I personally used it as a consistent finisher against tankier Pkmn. As soon as I was ahead in tempo against the tank, Ditto can come in and reliably finish. It's important to remember that speed ties work both ways, sometimes, the player gets the outspeed, so if you try playing your ditto assuming you always move last, then speed ties can only work in your favour.
I’d use carracosta because of shell smash, being an amazing move.
Gen 5 is my favorite gen. So many options and excellent animations.

TBH like IMO there's no such thing as a truly bad pokemon. Just outclassed. Granted there are pokemon that are bad **for nuzlockes**, and those? I'd say pokemon clearly designed for doubles battles since most of the time you'll be in single battles. Less bad but more like trying to mow your lawn with a mop: just not the right function.

yeah having slow levelling starters really helps, more time to grind EV's, less risk of overlevelling.
also, having a tirtouga as a starter, who learns shell smash at level 38 ensures you have a guaranteed sweeper for lategame with either solid rock or sturdy for that easy setup.
Starters actually level up very fast during the main game. The reason why it's cold "slow" level curve is because at a certain level (not sure which one but one where you already beat the game) the curve suddenly grows way faster and you need way more exp to bring them to level 100
@@nerdyfalco408 Still, the slow level curve is in fact the slowest up to level 61, at which point it gets taken over by the fluctuating curve.
However, this should not be an issue for the run considering the level cap.

My criteria for a bad nuzlocke Pokémon (in my humble opinion):
Slow EXP growth
High level evo
Low attack (since I love physical attackers
I think Paras is the best Starter here because of Spore or something?

I love sweeping E4/Champions with Swords Dance + Sucker Punch on Absol when their lead has no coverage for Dark types. It's a free win against Cynthia, for example.
Cynthia’s spiritomb has dark type coverage
@@johnmccarton4900 It does not have coverage _for_ Dark types. Its moves for the original champion battle are Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, Psychic, and Sucker Punch, all of which Dark types (such as Absol) resist or are immune to. In her rematch teams, it has Will-O-Wisp instead of Psychic, which means Absol could not reliably solo sweep, but it works for the original fight.
@@cullenhutchison6528 dude have you ever played gen 4. In both DP and Platinum her spiritomb has silver wind (a BUG type move) which is super effective against dark.

Amazing video! You probably are much better Nuzlocker than I am, but I gotta ask: How come Skuntank didn't come with you for the Elite Four? At worst, it takes neutral damage to Marshall's team, but has a field day with Shauntal and Caitlin. Additionally, its another resistance for Grimsely, and in Gen 5, it naturally learns Flamethrower, making it a great Bisharp check as well
I think it’s because it’s neutral damage for Marshall that I didn’t bring it. I knew I had a sweep for Caitlin and Shauntal so I didn’t greatly need him for them. So there really wasnt any point in bringing him for anyone else. Taking neutral damage meant that I would always come in on a fighting type move which is not exactly ideal for the team i brought

Ok so I have killed my water starter in ultra sun and my fire starter in my heartgold game but for some reason my chespin(in my first deathless nuzlocke) managed to live even though they are claimed to be worst so just because they are bad at nuzlocke they could be good as I had a simisage on the team.

ik i saw that too, kinda sus since the sawk would have had to probably be full health to have that high health after tanking a rock slide after being switched in and i don’t think a sitrus berry would heal that much

How long does it usually take you to edit a video?
This took less days but about the same amount of time. When I come up with words on the spot I’ll have like writers block much more often. So this took about 3. Usually takes 6
