  • Helle Nice was a pioneer in a time when the world of motorsport was almost exclusively a man's arena. Born in 1900 as Mariette Hélène Delangle, she danced her way into the limelight as a cabaret star in Paris, captivating audiences with her grace and daring spirit. But her true passion lay not on the stage, but on the racetrack.
With a fierce determination, Helle Nice swapped her dance shoes for driving gloves and quickly made a name for herself as one of the fastest women on four wheels. In 1929, she shattered records by winning the all-female Grand Prix at Montlhéry, and soon she was competing against the best male drivers of her time. Known for her striking looks and bold personality, she was as fearless in life as she was behind the wheel, often racing at speeds that sent chills through the crowds.
But Helle Nice’s story is not just one of speed and glamour. It is also a tale of resilience. In a world where women were often dismissed and underestimated, she carved out a place for herself through sheer talent and tenacity.
Yet, despite her achievements, Helle Nice’s legacy was almost forgotten, overshadowed by scandal and the passage of time. Today, we remember her not only as a pioneering female driver but as a symbol of courage and independence. Helle Nice raced not just for victory, but for the right to be herself in a world that constantly tried to define her limits.
She was, and remains, an inspiration-a reminder that the road ahead is always open to those who dare to drive forward.
This short film is an humble hommage to this women an her speed record at the Montlhéry track
