If you do wish to go private, it is good to know that you don’t have to hold health insurance for a year before you start trying to conceive, however I would recommend waiting at least 3 months after you sign up for your health insurance before you start trying , just to be safe and sure you will be covered. If you take out your health insurance say on January 4th 2022 and your baby is due after January 4th 2023, you will be covered privately once the baby doesn’t arrive before that date.

Fantastic 👏 my friend has that and she is getting amazing care in public hospital too. The public maternity hospital care is really great

Thanks so much for posting this. My 4yr old was born in UK in Luton and Dunstable hospital (public) and I had a great experience with them and even had my own room!
I'm now 26w with our second and going to National M. Hospital Dublin (public) and I'm nervous as it's my first here in Ireland and I know it's different in each country. I'm so glad to know a bit more what to expect after watching your video! I'm also a bit shocked about the "breaking your waters".. Is that like something they do because of emergency or they need to do in all births? Thank you.

I had no idea about the different policies. How can I figure that out? I'm in NMH now and 18 weeks. When given the option, I'll go midwife but I really don't want my waters broken and I was wondering about the ability to bathe or take a shower. Holles Street is closest for me but obviously others aren't that different distances.

Hello ma'am, please can health insurance covers assisted conception cost?
