So happy to hear that Lyric is doing so well 💖 I'm not a Mama yet but I have been a Daycare/Preschool teacher for 15 years now and I just wanted to share that not only is it important to always have back up clothes for baby but Mama should always have a back up outfit at all times too. I can't even tell you how many times I have been puked all over or worse and didn't have any clothes at work to change into. I finally learned to keep a change of clothes at work for myself 😄
Ill definitely share this with my best friend who is expecting in almost 3 weeks. If you could lift her in prayer that would be fantastic. She found out the baby isn’t turned in the right direction yet but she wants to deliver natural and not a c section but she’s being positive and giving God all the glory for whatever the outcome. I wish I could go and be there for her but we live 6.5 hours away from each other. Also I’m finishing my last semester of school

I’m not a mother myself (and never plan to be), but I do have some advice from my own mother; while yes, it’s not quite possible to do when out and about, it’s a good idea to actually wash little Lyric after every.single.changing if you can, with soap and water instead of using baby wipes. Now, is it a touch extreme? Yes, but according to my mother, my twin sister and I only ever had maybe one diaper rash due to this method of hers. Even received praise from the pediatrician for it, so apparently it pays off to be thorough. I know as a non-mother I may sound a little less credible, odd even, but I wanted to share this bit of advice with you since I had it stored away for some reason. Congratulations to you and your husband!

One thing I always have on hand especially bc my baby girl is teething, I have Motrin or Tylenol for when she gets fussy, I would recommend always keeping that on hand to help when he gets fussy as well as a tether for the baby pacifier (like a clip with a leash to snap to baby so you don’t lose it )
You're such a good mama, Charis! This is the first time I've heard of a mother being able to successfully breastfeed after having a baby in the NICU so long and having your milk come in late. (It's probably more common than I realize, but I'm still just super impressed and I'm so happy for you!) I think your dedication is amazing, and I love that you are compassionate and understanding towards needing to supplement with formula if need be. You have such a good perspective! I'm excited for your trip to San Antonio-- my baby just turned one and our family prays for Lyric, so I'm hoping we can meet you there!

Darling you look spectacular! So glad your milk flow is great, but I what else can you expect from God🥰😍🙏🏽🤲🏽! Did you know gou can freeze the milk up to 6 months? So if you need to go somewhere just take the milk from freezer, defrost it and give it to Lyric. No need for supplementing 😁. Even though it’s not a bad thing. Okay in my diaper bag I also have my baby’s passport & shots booklet. A hairbrush & comb and snacks for my baby(17 months), never thought of putting snacks for myself! Thanks for the tip! Haha
How cute I just got the same Einstein toy for Christmas. I just had my baby 10-2-18 so it's been really nice following along your journey of pregnancy at the same time I was. So if you have any extra baby stuff I wouldn't mind taking it off your hands. 😉
Love the color choice! Me and my husband got a backpack one from target and the color is gray, he refused to carry around a girly diaper bag! But I loved the gray anyways. But MAN diaper bags are so expensive now a days! So I agree with you in that you can really use anything as a diaper bag!
My breast milk came around 3weeks. My son had jaundice and we had to mix feed (breastmilk and formula) to help flush the jaundice out when he was a newborn.
I love my Aden & Anais blanket!!! And nipple cream is a breastfeeding mom's best friend 🙌 I keep baby Tylenol, gripe water and a little grooming/medical kit that has nail clippers, small brush, my nose Frida and Frida baby's little pacifier/syringe that we keep in our little guys backpack. Oh yeah, and we keep a teething ring (that comes with a storage container) inside the backpack, as well, since he is teething right now.

I also use disposable pads to lay underneath the pad i have so i don’t have to worry about anything that’s on the koala stations. And i can throw it all out with the diaper.

My baby loves pacifiers too but she loves one that is hard to find. It’s the Raz baby keep it kleen. It closes up if it falls on the floor.
