    I’m glad to see you’re still in business considering all the WiFi radios out there. I appreciate the old AM stations and still listen to AM morning shows on the way to work.

    I used to string out two insulated wires in opposite directions. I lived in a very rural area and each wire was over 200 feet long. I used a pole to push the wires up into lower tree limbs high enough that humans or animals wouldn`t run into them. I would connect these wires to a homemade coil of 100 turns of 24 or 26 AWG magnet wire close wound on a paper towel tube. When I placed the coil near a portable radio during the day I went from only getting 3 or 4 AM stations to 48 stations that were loud and clear. In NW Louisiana about 35 miles below Shreveport I could hear New Orleans, Houston, Dallas and even Oklahoma City like locals at noon.

    All right I looked at the video yes it does increase the reception the cable that is running 50 ft can see an issue with that cable the problem is you have noise environment this wire that is running from the unit it's actually picking up the noise and we transferring it back to your radio this would work fine out in the country to try to amplify small AM signal I would recommend using the loop instead V induction another way how to cut back the red tape Runabout 17 turn around your radio off wire run about 30 ft outside that is connected to this 17 turn coil and run the other part of The Wire to the ground now this is going to amplify your signal it's also going to amplify your noise as well the difference is you're having a capacitor you having a variable capacitor which will make a big difference ultimately thank you for the video and yes I am is a mode that should be an all radio in case of emergency am will travel a lot further than FM your fm is roughly say give it a taken 100 Mi + your a.m. can travel for thousands of miles a signal can go quite far so definitely having a good am reception is excellent to have however these other ones that you're selling for with the extended cable I would recommend this in the city I would only do this in the country the loop antenna is the best bet it will help the induction of the signal of the a.m.

    I have an older precursor to the Turk antenna. It is fantastic. This video is not very good. I'm sorry but the technology is much better than presented.

    • @VickyGeagan
      @VickyGeagan 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Same thing I think they use a better tuning capacitor. All the Turk antenna and the old select antennas are is a magnetic loop antenna. Their easy to build you just need a roll of magnetic wire and a tuning capacitor. You will also need some wood or something to wrap the wire around a wooden cross works well. Their are a lot of videos on TH-cam on how it is done.

      This video doesn't do the products justice 😉. They are much better. I've heard demonstrations of the Turk where the difference in signal quality and number of stations received was dramatic.

    Vertical format?

    • @ccraneccrane
      @ccraneccrane  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your question! If our Twin Coil Ferrite AM Antenna Element were placed in a vertical position it could act more like an omni-directional antenna however doing so may also reduce the signal gain. Experimentation is always best to achieve the best results!

      I believe they’re suggesting that you record in landscape mode next time. Rotate the device 90 degrees.

    Seems like a worthless product based on the demonstration...a tower antenae might be a better reception choice.

    • @batman4e

      That CCrane radio already has a twin coil ferrite antenna inside, so the external one would not bring much improvement. They should have used an ordinary AM radio without a built in twin coil ferrite for the demonstration.
