Yet he speaks as though it is religion by going way out of his way to cite incorrect facts about cattle and its impact on the environment. This is what religion is. For it not to be religion, he would have acknowledged he doesn't know what he's saying and instead offer a healthy debate from both camps.

I turned vegan 4 years back for my health but I’ve stayed vegan because I just can’t bear to see the suffering to which animals are subjected to while bringing them to our plates. My medical bills are almost down to zero. In the last 4 years I’ve had fever twice and cold twice. I still can’t believe veganism could be so beneficial to me. Weight loss and increased endurance are the side benefits

Unfortunately for you, plants feel pain when fruits are plucked...dont eat fruits from fruitsellers and no vegetables in mkt also....grow your own in your house and eat only when the plant gets ready to release the fruit. Its been proved in labs that plants feel immense pain when disturbed.

@@Weapondesign5101 Plants dont feel pain, they have the sensation only. They dont have a central nervous system to identify the sensation and translate that sensation to pain. But ofcourse we are killing a plant to sustain our life. Our purpose is to sustain the life we are given with the least harm to another life. So if we can survive of the least himsa, thats the best way.

Deforestation is done to provide fodder, water and land to the imprisoned animals that have to be slaughtered for meat by the Meat Industry, or the animals that are tortured by the Dairy Industry by extracting their milk. Food Resources, Land Resources as well as Water Resources are consumed by those imprisoned animals who are going to be slaughtered for Meat Consumption, due to which the percentage of water resources on earth reduces. Due to this water pollution and deforestation, extinction of many living species occurs, the evidence of global warming increases. In contrast, the amount of vegetables vegetarians eat is very less when compared to the amount of food resource wastage, water wastage and deforestation that is caused due to meat consumption by non-vegetarians or dairy product consumers. So, Meat consumers harm the trees and plants. On top of that they also kill animals, birds and fish. This lead to the disharmony and disbalance in Nature.

Similarly animal abuse which is happening because of meat & milk, curd, ghee consumption also needs to be spoken about just like how soil has been addressed. I am not expecting that policies shud be drafted by Sadhguru team to make it into action like save soil but atleast He should openly speak about it that the brutality that is happening with animals in the name of meat & milk. Veganism is not a diet, it's not about food choices. It's about acknowledging and respecting the individuality of nonhuman sentient beings. They only have their life, and we «unnecessarily» rob it from them. We are indoctrinated into this thinking and behavior, in a system built on their exploitation. But we have choice. We can question and unlearn the supremacist system of thinking, and challenge the inertia of animal use. Animals don't exist for us to use. They are not resources for food, clothing or entertainment. They «ALSO» deserve the fundamental right not to be property, not to be enslaved, commodified. Embrace nonviolence. Go vegan 🍀

I tried vegan for 4 months and just ended up feeling weak and then developed IBS... I was eating plenty of protein and as much variety as I could and learning everything I could but it just didn't work. I added occasional fish, eggs and chicken back into my diet and felt SO much better and even the IBS largely went away. I still get some issues now and then but nowhere near as bad. I really really tried but it just did not work for me, and I have to like hide this now from any vegans I meet in person because I can't stand the bullying they often inflict over it. Sometimes it's more sniping at me than blatant aggressive arguing back that I did it wrong etc when I really didn't, but it is really hurtful and I just can't deal with it anymore so I just avoid the entire discussion now. Wrong. The planet needs soil, as the speaker in the video notes. And the best soil comes from herbivore grazing, and that soil is best for growing vegetables. There’s a big difference between factory farms, which are horrible, and animal husbandry using biomimicry and regenerative farming that enriches the soil. People are part of the cycle of life, and our eating animals is natural as any other animal eating other animals. Do you think cats should be fed vegan food? And if not, do you propose starving all domestic cats to death? If you see a cat about to catch and eat a mouse, would you save the mouse and let the cat starve? Sorry, your position just denies basic evolutionary reality of life. If eating ‘dead flesh’ makes you squeamish, then you’re like a repressed religious fanatic who thinks sex is bad. Sex is normal and natural, and imposing religious fanaticism on it doesn’t make it ‘impure’ or morally reprehensible. Your vegan fanaticism is distorting your view of reality.

    • @chapmanchen1

      Animals are our Folk
One of the reasons why we should take care of other animals is because they are our brothers and sisters on account of their possessing a soul, their physical proximity to us, and their ability to suffer.
In the first creation story man and woman are created in God’s image. But it also tells us that animals have a soul. In Genesis 1:30 (KJV) it reads,
"And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so."
Hebrew for the phrase "life" in the verse above is "nephesh chayyah", which is mistranslated as "life" in most English versions of the Bible.
Nephesh means soul and chayyah means living. In other words, God did give the animals a living soul when He created them.
Thus the animals are sentient, i.e., able to look for physical pleasure and to stay away from physical pain; to yearn to go on living, endeavoring to shun death and to able to experience various emotions. Subsequently, God created man and breathed into his nostrils the same “breath of life”, “nephesh chayyah”, (Gen.2:7) which is the living soul.
By reason of this commonality of possessing a living soul the animals are also our brothers and sisters to be loved by us. (Farians 2009)
Also, animals are apparently proximal to us. They live side by side with us. They are literally neighbors of us, just that we frequently destroy their homes and chase them out of their living habitats.
Moreover, Jeremy Bentham (1789) pointed out that it is animals' ability to suffer rather than their rationality which made them our neighbors:-"The question is not, Can they reason? nor, Can they talk? but, Can they suffer?" Just putting it in my perspective:
For this thanksgiving (2023) we ate so much meat (chicken, lamb, turkey) my son had constipation that when we took X-ray doctor found poop stuck in large intestine. Solution: more fiber or medicines.
We changed our diet to boiled broccoli, celery and spinach and in 10 days problem solved. Also food intake reduced a lot and we are more active all day. One banana can keep me going for half day. But one chicken drumstick is never enough. Most importantly: The cravings reduced a lot. Now we eat only twice a day. No snacks, no appetizers, no desserts, no raiding pantry.
My lesson learnt: Eat only when you are very hungry. Eat half- stomach, don’t fill it. Do intermittent fasting. Eat lots of of veggies and add fresh protein once a week.

The 'mainstream sect' is categorically wrong about why the nonhuman sentients are here. The 'main' theme in this huge sect is called «speciesism», which is a belief system similar in structure to racism or sexism. We learn speciesism since we are children.
«This individual has moral value, this has not, it is not an individual, but an asset. Because of 'species', (or 'race', or 'sex').»
Other animals don't belong to humans. They don't exist to serve us. Respecting nonhuman individuals means, at the very least, not using them for our profit, not for food, not for clothing, not for entertainment.
We can live and thrive without using them, we can live leaving them alone. One just needs to challenge the speciesism pumping in the inside. One can unlearn speciesism. Sadhguru may SelfActualize himself, such as any of us. Cheers.

    THE BURNING PLANET's SOLUTION:
    - Even if we plant 1 million trees every year, it will take them years to grow.
    - The climate destruction rate won't wait until these trees grow.
    - Also, not all of the planted trees will actually grow due to unfavorable situations.
    - It makes a lot more sense to not chop the existing billions of trees for raising trillions of animals for meat production in the first place.
    - Simply GOING VEGAN can stop more than 68% of the greenhouse gases that are emerging from these many animals.
We can never be too ignorant and selfish that we only care about our taste buds, especially when the whole planet is burning with everybody in it.

How much of the agricultural land for veg and livestock combined is sprayed???
This is the issue. If soil is the focus. And if the body is the focus. This alone is destroying the nutritive content so while in the past veg diet was ok it is not anymore. In my opinion we need strength and healthy metabolisms. This should be individual and needs based AND dynamic as so many factors are at play and constantly changing. And what an invitation to be present and connected to your body. When animals used for health and the animals health is good and hasn't been tortured like big Ag does . I have seen myself what happens 3:52 to wild animals too all in agriculture . Also we need the cow manure to rebuild the soil and animals to maintain diversity. Factory made foods are not food.

Mam food becomes topic of spirituality for a spiritual seeker....and matter of fact everything for him.. how to sit ...,stand ,cloth ,walk ,.....sleep....become spiritual.....he is talking about common man interested in only family situation.....
Problem with us is everyone care just about himself and his family with no interest in spirituality but is grown up hearing spiritual stories so have fake ideas and imaginations......about everything....
Food is about how your gut is....
And a non vegetarian animal gut is very different from a vegetarian gut ...and by seeing this very carefully we have a vegetarian gut but if situation arise we can eat meat in very emergency situation .......like stuck in a forest .....or flood ...etc ....
He is just conveying. ......how food should be according to your body is ...what your situation is ......that's it

Practice loving kindness towards animals too. They deserve to live too. Certainly this sounds stupid if reading from a poor country. Well, you haven't been in this position, where cost of living is so high and work has become so difficult to get. We eat whatever we can find. This isn't 2010, new problems have come. Nobody will help and becoming veg is the least of our problems

How many animals die in order for vegetable crops to be grown?
A vegan diet from vegetables that are intensivly produced, without respect for their natural sorroundings, with enourmous amounts of pesticides ,is not a solution!

Long term vegan lack proteins. I think eating fish is less evil than eating mammals, I heard they don't feel pain the same way we do. I also don't see the problem with unfertilized eggs, the hens will latch eggs and it will not become a chick, it's such a great source of nutriments. Full vegan is hard and often rely too much on grains.. too much carb is not good.
