I play DCS and don’t get flickering with boost - just fyi. I use CAS only - which applies sharpening - at 20% . I did turn down my system resolution override to 3500x4150. I’d like to experiment with that more. How did you arrive at your resolution decision ? Overall looks great and performs well! (I have the plastic lenses still) Thanks for your video
Thanks I will try that CAS setting! Honestly i took a random stab at the resolution, I need to run some more detailed testing on each component, stay tuned for another video diving into it in more detail.

I'm interested in upgrading my HP Reverb G2 v1. I have an i9 10900KF processor ten-core processor with an RTX 3080 ti. I've been very concerned that my system won't be up to the demands of the Pimax Crystal. Thanks to your video, those concerns have been put to bed. Thank you for a great video! I'm interested in seeing how the performance is in iracing. I have one on the way I paid for it almost 2 weeks ago and haven't received a tracking # yet.
I have not tested MSFS but I also had flickering problems in DCS when I used turbo mode. It got way better after i changed in the nvidia the number of prerendered frames from 1 to 3
What are you using to change from? Dual eye view at the beginning, to single eye… OBS? Any tips would be greatly appreciated appreciated. Thanks for the great vid! Chas
I have an i5 12400 with a 3080ti , I used your settings and it runs ok at around 45fps on a pico4 but looks a bit meh. I feel the CPU is really killing me. If I swapped out the CPU for a i9 1300 series I'd really be able to stretch it's legs through right ? As far as I can tell it's a straight CPU swap and won't need a motherboard upgrade either right?
from 12 gen to 13 gen no need to change M/B if im to wrong because same Sockets (FCLGA1700) i changed my cpu from gen 10 to 12 gen yes there is a lot diff then i changed my cpu from 12 gen to 13 gen not to much diff im using hp reverb g2 vr i changed my GPU 4080 to 4090 no diff and not worth it i changed my mother bord from asus z690 to MSI meg godlike z790 flagship with watercooler i got 12 FPS with GPU 4080 or 4090 make sure to change power supply at least 1200 w i was using 850 but when i changed to 1600 yes i got better FPS at least 1200 w msfs2020 got me lost a lot of money
Yes absolutely, though our customers have reported they prefer going down the prescription lens route if possible, which tbh is true for all vr headsets too.
Well, contrary yo whst they are saying I just tried the Pimax crystal and compared it to my old Reverb G2. I put the same settings in the Pimax Crystal as shown on Pimax "How to run MSFS2020 on a 3080" copied copied from Tetiana of DiscoVR. Unfortunately I can read instruments better on the G2 also views are better. Only the image is brighter on Pimax...
how has the battery dependency been in practice? Can you leave headset attached to pc and it recharges, or do you need to keep swapping batteries every few days?
Yes it charges when your pc is off or on standby, as long as your USB ports retain power (which most do by default) - we will do a detailed battery test vid later on too!

Terrain LOD is a CPU killer more then GPU.

I did think I was going to have to upgrade to a 40 series, but not any more -it runs great on my 3080Ti.

I know, capturing VR properly on the Pimax is a work in progress - I will keep working on improving it though!

That is very odd! The Crystal is a lot higher spec than the G2, there may have been something odd happening in the settings you were running?
