i love how u addressed the issue of young people having easier access to books with sexual content. i cant judge bc i lived and breathed wattpad/fanfic smut when i was 13-18 years old, but my current 24 year old self dies a little inside when i see a young girl carrying a 'spicy' booktok rec lmao
LOL yeah i remember being 12 and having access to the YA section at my local library which definitely had books that were not suitable for 12 year olds but it definitely stressed me out seeing these kids buying the twisted series
This is definitely one of my favorite videos of yours!! It’s so fun, and made me want to go book shopping! For a long time now I’ve just gotten my books online, but this made me crave actual bookstores, especially cozy used ones!! 💚
i'd never heard of scattered all over the earth before but it seems so up my alley so it's immediately going on my tbr! i'm also intrigued by dig, insatiable, and station eleven. that backman novella sounds especially heartbreaking (on a personal level for me) - as i love his work i'll read it, but i'll probably cry the whole way through 😭😭 from iana's selection i really want to read interview with the vampire soon!!
not finding anything in a bookshop is real pain!! i went to the city once just to buy a new book and i literally couldn’t find ANYTHING i wanted and it ruined my mood for the rest of the day 🙃 also love these book vlogs with iana sm 💗
LOVE Sally Hepworth! Only started reading her recently and really enjoyed The Good Sister and The Mother in Law. Super keen to read the rest of her books now and it's always nice to read books based in Australia!
Wonder if you could try find little free library in your area and surrounding, as an alternative to book shopping. Australia has some so I'd say NZ will too?😊✨
This really made me wish it's summer in my country, i can't wait for it.... I also bought The gilded wolves trilogy recently, i was waiting to buy physical books, i didn't want to read it as ebooks, so i am really looking forward to it! These covers are so beautiful, honestly i prefer them over US covers
Omg slay Iana, I've actually thought about making a video with a similar (but not the same) concept because I'm also a crazy cat person and starting a booktube channel just because of that💕🐈⬛Picking up a book only if it's cats is such a vibe
I watched this video this morning and I swear it like cured my winter blues (could also be because I'm getting more sunshine here xD). I've just been catching up on your videos since, in between doing other things.
Omg New Zealand is so interesting how almost all books are published in paperback but in different sizes 😭 it’s a dream for people like me who want a chaotic library but hate hardbacks !!!! Some of these paperbacks are GORG
I read most Colleen hoover books and twisted love when I was 14😅 but I’m an avid reader so I’ve read a lot more than that too… but my favorite book is YA. (If he had been with me- Laura Nowlin)
What would you recommend as the best book stores to visit in Auckland? I will be there in a few weeks time for a few days and would love to check some out
I felt "this looked gorgeous, but so expensive" on a spiritual level lolll SO glad you got And Every Morning The Way Home Gets Longer And Longer. I was curious if you've read it. I listened to the audio, the narrator was fantastic. I nearly cried
The things we keep is such a heart tug read, and it kept Me on my feet I wasn’t feeling it at first but towards the end I’m like nup I actually love this lol I’d recommend but saying that I think we have different taste when in come to books - books you loved I didn’t, books I loved you didn’t sooo its quite nerve racking to see if you will like the things we keep 😂😂 but it’s worth a read wether your thought maybe 😊 I love to have a friend who would do like a book road trip with me, but my friends aren’t readers, I think you girls should make this type video again! 😊
Heyyyy Jaime, this is very random question .. but I just needed to ask when I started watching & saw how nice your hair looks! 💕 Do you use a toner/purple shampoo on the blonde? If so, what is it?! I just put blonde in my hair but it's quite yellowy so I'm looking for good products x
hello gorgeous! welcome to the blonde club! i actually have super dry and naturally curly hair so i use a shampoo for that as purple shampoo dries my hair out. i used to have platinum blonde hair when i was younger though and i used a shampoo brand called fudge to keep the brassier tones out! hope that helps!
No I don’t remember but it was last week or 2 weeks ago I was in target and I heard this girl she sounded pretty young and I didn’t see her face but she was like I want to read icebreaker in front of her mum
I wish I could like thrillers, but I'm a very character-driven person so maybe that's why I don't like them? Also don't understand why thriller characters have to be so unlikable - wouldn't you want to root for them since they might not be guaranteed a happy ending like every other genre? But I just can't root for them usually haha. Do you have any good thriller recommendations for someone who doesn't usually like thrillers or unlikable characters? Some of my favorites are An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen and Every Vow You Break by Peter Swanson. Megan Miranda and Lisa Jewell are also pretty good in my opinion. I love your channel!
Hello my name is Christina and I'm new to your chancel and the books I'm reading are Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke and Looking for alaska by John Green and The Ladies Roon by Carolyn Brown and Land of a Hundred by Lesley Kagen
Sally Hepworth has become a favorite after reading The Good Sister(5.0), The Younger Wife(4.5), and The Mother-In-Law(4.75) 🙌🏽 Ashley Winstead has been a bit of a disappointment... In My Dreams I Hold A Knife was "good" but forgettable... And I ended up DNFing The Last Housewife 🤷🏻♂ I can't wait to get Things We Hide From The Light on the 21st 🤗
I just finished The Last Housewife and it is incredible but I would definitely look up trigger warnings. It is very explicit but the themes are horrifyingly relevant.
The convo about young girls reading smutty books was interesting 😅 I think it's fine if teens read those types of books, but not if they are laughing about it with their friends. I read my first spicy book when I was 15 (and had apps like Chapters for years before that), and I honestly found the book super boring because they just kept *being intimate*. I read Punk 57 when I was 16 and loved it. I just don't think these girls are mature enough as individuals for that type of content.

The Last Housewife is my favorite thriller of all time! It's extremely dark but very important.
oh i cannot wait to read it!
This is definitely one of my favorite videos of yours!! It’s so fun, and made me want to go book shopping! For a long time now I’ve just gotten my books online, but this made me crave actual bookstores, especially cozy used ones!! 💚
aw thank you!! yeah nothing compares to being in a bookstore and being able to physically hold the books
@@jaimeslibrary Agreed!! 💚

I read The Family Next Door by Sally Hepworth earlier this month and really liked it!!
oh love that!
I read most Colleen hoover books and twisted love when I was 14😅 but I’m an avid reader so I’ve read a lot more than that too… but my favorite book is YA. (If he had been with me- Laura Nowlin)
Love a good book haul! I swear that the rest of the world has so much more stunning book covers than the United States.
ahhhhh but the us has reasonable book prices honestly u win some u lose some x

Hey Jamie love your channel would love if you hunted down Hot Blooded by Lisa Jackson.

❤❤❤. Love unity in Wellington. Blessings from Colleen
I feel like one of the only people who really didn’t like In My Dreams I Hold a Knife 😅
Sally Hepworth has become a favorite after reading The Good Sister(5.0), The Younger Wife(4.5), and The Mother-In-Law(4.75) 🙌🏽
