    Steve unfortunately passed away a few days ago. His loss is felt deeply. I cannot encourage people enough to explore the work he left behind. He was absolutely brilliant.

      Thank you for this interview. I had the privilege of meeting Steve and chatting with him during one of Andy Austin's trainings in Boulder. His legacy is immense, as was his intellect and curiosity. His humanity and generosity ran just as deep, and your interview allows those of us whose lives were touched by this man to remember his many admirable qualities.

    I briefly have had the privilege of responding back and forth with Steve Andreas via email when I had a nagging question and was surprised to receive such in depth correspondences. It’s sad to see his health deteriorating. I’m just getting to this two-part interview series now but thoroughly enjoying. Wishing him the best.

      Steve is one of the most generous persons I've ever met. Glad you had that experience. Save the emails. I recently looked back over our first exchanges. Knowing he probably won't be with us much longer I got teary reading them.

    This is gold. So many great gems here. What a legend. His willingness to be candid and not operate like an “always on” NLP guy is very refreshing

    I'm very thankful to Steve Andreas for inventing the Self concept model and writing the book. I was actually thinking about the model the other day and how important it could be for society and especially the school system if it was taught there. I wish for a world where people are who they want to be, and where they do what they want to do. We really lack in that department. People go through their lives not really knowing why they are who they are. Identity is one of the most important things, after all.

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. The problem is that most people or so unclear about who they are and what they want that they seek a direction externally and this makes them easy to manipulate by someone else or an institution and they never tap into their potential.

    Damon, have you considered helping Steve organize his ideas/work that he mentioned? It would probably help him, you, and everybody else with whom you'd share your deepened knowledge.

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're referring to the reorganization of the scope and category patterns is him just sharpening and rewriting something he's already created. I don't think this is something anyone can help him with. It's in his mind.
      If that's not what you're referring to let me know.

    • @romanr7948
      @romanr7948 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably that. Something about some patterns.
      Since he has difficulties reading, etc., I thought someone's help could be useful.

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think if he needed help he would ask for it and of course I would be happy to.

    I WONDER what would happen if we all sent this man a PRAYER... Religion aside...just IMAGINE him feeling better. That is the source of my CURIOSITY at the moment...

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a lovely thought. I think many of us are imagining him feeling better even if we don't believe in prayer.

    • @gemmadidit4118
      @gemmadidit4118 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      NLP Gym ...a THOUGHT is a powerful thing...it's just a matter of interpretation. Don't get me wrong...I totally appreciated your conversation. Thank you both for the effort it took to make it happen.

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you.
      Thoughts can be powerful if they're acted upon. Without action thoughts are idle in my opinion. Take the mass shootings we've been having. Everyone keeps saying "Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims" but the victims are still dead and shootings still keep happening because nothing is being done about it.
      I have nothing against thoughts and prayers nor the belief that they work. To each their own. When someone says they will pray for me, I thank them. I know it's their way of wishing me well and wanting the best for me. If nothing else it feels good and that has value.
      I think there is a way to contact Steve through his website. Drop him a line to let him know your thoughts. I'm sure he will appreciate it and that it will make him feel good to know that he is appreciated.
      I will be releasing more of this interview in the next few weeks. In it he says that he values usefulness highly and that it's been really hard for him lately because he doesn't feel as useful as he used to be. Our appreciation of his work and expressing our appreciation for his work I think is a great way to let him know he's been enormously useful to many people and that he will continue be useful even after death because his work will live on.

    Hmm is that possible NLP concept is appears just like that, without someone created a methodology or made an order of concept?

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure what you're asking. NLP is a methodology, but more accurately a model for modeling experience. It didn't just appear. Its inception was in the early 70s and has been developing ever since.

    I liked this interview, but sad to hear that Steve believes God doesn't exist, or at best is a fear-based crutch for people. 'God as an angry being to be afraid of' is such a gross misrepresentation, a great deception. That too needs a transformation. Damon, I hope your path crosses with more people who have a personal relationship with God as he truly is.

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Like I mention in the video it wasn't until later when I met Catholics who had had a different experience than I did. Steve and I both acknowledge that not everyone who believes in God does so out of fear. That aside, there is no evidence to suggest there is a God, quite the opposite actually. I have nothing against anyone who believes in God unless they try to force their agenda on me or others like some do with government policy. I have no need or reason to believe in God nor do I try to convince people who believe in God that they shouldn't.
