@Ian Kershaw Thanks so much for sharing this rare Australian footage of Hank Marvin performing the classic Sacha , a mate told me he saw this Midday show appearance at the time of broadcast here in Sydney, Australia. This I unfortunately missed ,of my all time fave Hank Marvin tune ( I have the original 45 released 1969, the self titled album released 1970 and cd re-release . As you know it was a big hit here in Australia. cheers Rob Mac 👍 🎸 Lifelong Shadows/Hank Marvin fan
It was lucky that I knew that Hank was going to appear on the Midday Show, as they contacted me and asked to be put in touch with Hank. I had set up my Stereo video recorder to capture it. I really wanted Hank to perform Janine, but either he or the Midday Show decided that Sacha was the best tune to play. I still think that Janine is his best track!
There is a Video on TH-cam somewhere of Cliff Richard playing the lead guitar performing Apache, while Hank is sitting down watching him. Cliff never missed a note, not one.
What a fantastic clip - I've loved The Shadows and Hank since I was a small boy but in the early 80s not all of Hank's early solo was easily available - I played side 1 of Rarities continually - Sacha wasnt there and i eventually got the album and even recently on vinyl!
@@blueshadow7385at the end 9:31 there isn’t- Hank even says “all I need is a plectrum” but then it’s too late so he starts playing anyway with his thumb and finger
@@nickkellieI thought he meant at the end of Sacha. Yeah, at the end of the video, there’s absolutely no plectrum. :) He probably lost it after finishing the number.
I like it. Very interesting to hear him play it without effects. That's how I used to do it back in the day. Good tune and more interesting chords than usual.
Loved Sacha when it was first released, and it's still a favourite of mine almost 60 years later.

Con quella chitarra elettrica, mi fai piangere, si vede che suoni con cuore.
How clear and delicate the melody Hank Marvin plays

Did Ray say he lives in Perth.....?
Yes, he's been a West Aust resident for some time now 👍
That's Perth Australia
What a shithole choice??
Ray Martin!!
Hank reminds me of cliff
Notice at the end that Hank is playing without a plectrum - just his thumbnail and fingernails.
