Mr Danny Ayalon is creating absurd accusations. According to the current situation, Hamas and ISS are very different groups, e.g. 1.Hamas does not leave its border and join to war with other borders.
2. Hamas recognize some aspects of human rights such as the release of the American hostages.
3. They respect and allow the existence of Palestinian political organizations
such as PLO administration.
Hamas lost all respect when they attacked Israel in that appalling way.

@@wavester46 It was of course a bad move. The killing of civilians is always bad, no matter the motive. And it was a shot in their own foot. I also believe Israelis let them do some damage, to have an excuse for what's happening now. Let's not forget Israel needed this, now, because of it's own recent internal problems (very sizable problems). So, very convenient for the Israeli government, and explains how could the most well defended place in the world take such a hit! Even Israelis say "how could the army take hours to get here" (it's also a small place, as you know). It couldn't - unless it was permitted.

There is an economic, political, and social answer to that. That is that Israel has the support of the united States. That alone means that they are not worried about reprisals from the arab world, they are almost guaranteed that nothing will befall them. There is also the political will to do so, from the United States, which is only interested in protecting it's economic interests. There is also the social factor that so many israelis (while also many israelis are against) want to have the maximum possible revenge against Hamas.

It’s hard to make the political argument that the US supporting Palestine is in its best interest, there’s just nothing for it to gain in the region anymore. The only counties with any real leverage are Egypt, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, but even then it’s not enough. The only benefit of siding with Palestine (West Bank and Gaza) is a moral one, and that’s great for a person, but irrelevant for a country.

Very good interview. The aggressor needs to be questioned. If they stop aggression against Palestinians, then maybe they can also live in peace. Stop drawing up your own borders. They have not even stuck to 1948 partition borders by UN.
