    I had NO CLUE we could use the green mats to add different colored vinyl sheets in ONE cut session. MAN this is a game changer, especially for people in the custom bike painting industry. Our cutters only allow us to cut off ONE continuous roll...but here you can change the colors. or the materials. that's insane. Thanks! This helps.

    If my full artwork 2 or 3 object together is Black or any single colour then should i Unite and compound path the whole artwork?

    • @designerprintables160
      @designerprintables160  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, exactly. Each object of the same color would be united together and then create the compound path for that color. Essentially, each color should be a united item to cut that color vinyl.

    What if you already have a svg but you flatten it ? What happens then can you still use it to cut?

    • @designerprintables160
      @designerprintables160  ปีที่แล้ว

      If the svg is one color, you should be able to cut it. You won’t be able to cut a flattened SVG if it’s multicolor…(especially if it is flattened to the background like a jpg file). it’ll cut just the one outlined shape out as if it is a png. Hope this helps.

    • @designerprintables160
      @designerprintables160  ปีที่แล้ว

      You would need to take the steps in this video to vectorize the graphic in order to separate each colo. Otherwise, it will only print along the outside outline of the entire flattened image.

    So, I assume you sell on Etsy? Im a designer and have no idea about these cut files but from what I can see if I want to sell my designs as digital downlaods on Etsy most people will want them as cut files? so do you have to put every colour on a seperate layer and then put the SVG through this program afterwards to make it a cut file? or do I let the person downloading make it into a cut file? Can't find any proper tutorials explaining hos this stuff works. thanks

    • @designerprintables160
      @designerprintables160  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. The cut file is created when you vectorize it in a program. Each color would need to be a separate layer. Then that file would be used with your cutting machine. To sell SVG cut files, they would need to be SVG cut files...not flat images/drawings. Hope this helps.

    • @kevinwarner959
      @kevinwarner959 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@suemcdonald9446 I assume you live traced your PNG image, since you mentioned that you can pull the parts of the design apart. If you select all of the pieces of your design which have the same colour by holding shift and selecting each part, while they are selected, you can go to OBJECT>COMPOUND PATH>MAKE. In the layers panel you will see the layer your entire design is on. However, to the left of your layer name, there is a dropdown arrow. If you click that you will not only see each section of the design on it's own layer, but you will also see the compound path you made, on a layer labeled . that layer will also have a preview box to the left of the name so you can preview the part of your design that you made into the compound path. Hope this helps.
