    We have been talking about slow starts for almost the last decade. The “the Steelers haven’t scored a TD on their first drive in (fill in the blank) amount of games” has been a narrative surrounding the team for a while. Even with Ben. This majorly comes down to Tomlin playing not to lose rather than coaching to win. He wants to start fast? Start aggressive. This doesn’t have to be a week in and week out kind of thing. But we have to put the foot on the gas pedal from time to time if we ever want to see another Lombardi

    What bothers me is he said the slow starts is not a big issue with him. He seems intent on trying to set the tone physically even if it means falling behind. I understand how he's great at pulling out close games but his stubbornness with this is insane.

    What people mistake about the 2 runner, Najee/patterson. We have to remember Patterson is a kickoff specialist, he see the hole and shoot through it. And the rb position is just a lesser version of kickoff for him. He sees a hole and goes. It’s easy fr him

    I feel like the 2025 draft is gonna be another big boy draft. Fautanu's injury is a big setback and now with Daniels' injury, we're really thin inside and out. What's worse is that the D Line will be another year older and we can't keep looking at Cam to be the answer. He's going to need to start being a mentor to the younger bodies that will one day replace him. Keanu Benton is great but we need another solid DE/DT. Addressing WR in free agency clears up another pressing need. Hopefully we're competitive the rest of the year because this is a very nice window with how cheap our QB room is.

    • @TheMasterofMuzik

    I’m kinda with Tim here, what if we flipped Najee & Jaylen’s roles. Let Warren hit the hole and get us 4-7 yards on 1st (Najee does do this, just not nearly consistently enough). And then bring in Najee for some screens and change of pace running to Warren. It may set us up better. Najee runs mad once he can get some momentum, so why not help him with that more. Let’s get him in space.

    DK I was listening to you this morning and you mentioned that the NFL doesn’t call holding on edge rushers because owners don’t want their quarterback investments injured. Instead of having edge rushers play under a different set of rules why doesn’t the NFL come up with something that if a edge rusher gets to a quarterback and touches him. He hast to take a knee and consider himself down?

    I have such a bad feeling going into this Dallas game that I didn't have last week.
    Before the Indy game it felt like the Steelers had figured things out and it was the perfect time for them to put it all together and play a full game of good, complementary football.
    That sure didn't happen. They smashed the mirror into a hundred pieces. A shot across your bow is fine if you respond appropriately. Tomlin has shown zero signs of responding appropriately. Not in game and not in the days since. In fact he once again stated that he's fine with the slow starts. Doesn't concern him in the least. And no, this isn't a case of "Coach says one thing in public and does the opposite in private." Slow starts and not caring about the first half of games has been a Tomlin constant for like 15 years now. He's not going to fix it suddenly in Year 16.
    I fully expect the Steelers to come out slow again and be down bad by half. Worse than 17-0. I know the Cowboys aren't the greatest team overall but Dak is still a very good QB and I can easily see him dicing us up.

    My.only feedback is watch the all 22 before saying Najee wasn't giving effort. Look particularly at the RUN BLOCKING of the oline verses the blocking when Patterson had his best runs. It's not completely fair to discredit him without pointing out the obvious lackluster run designs and blocking when he's in there.

  • @bigdap100

    The Steelers are using Fields as a Game Manager and not a Play Maker, which means that Fields should be rushing the ball sooner and more often EVEN if there are players open...b/c the threat of him running the ball is a major problem for defenses. USE Fields as a playmaker not a game manager.

  • @Jonesbruh
    @Jonesbruh หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    TJ is the best edge rusher in the game but versatility is definitely his weakness. I don't know if its coaching or just who he is, but his inability to move around like some of the other top guys (Garrett, Parsons) makes him way easier to defend. Line him up on the left, right, inside, whatever you have to do to get him a 1 on 1. Sitting him on 1 side and letting him get chipped and doubled is so frustrating to watch.

    • @dudedabsworth8023
      @dudedabsworth8023 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He had double digit sacks on the other side. He can’t be stopped on the left. No reason to move him around. They could have called holding 5 times in the game at least.

    We have this conversation every year and have for the last 8. How many examples of Mike Tomlin (worlds best coach) not having the team prepped? If Richardson doesn’t get hurt that score is way worse. He’s (Tomlin) is a broken freaken record. It’s mind numbing, but he does just enough to not have a losing season. It’s become an exhausting joke.

    Overall Fields had a great game stat wise and do think he is our future and we would've won if the defense played like they did the last three games BUT i rather have less yards with Russ and the right plays to win the game so while everyone is clamoring about stats Russ wouldn't have lost this winnable game despite everything that unfolded

    • @mlee1337

      @mlee1337 Decision making that's plain and simple! Trust me there's plenty enough blame to go around and no QB is perfect but there was times JF could've made better decisions. For example: Hitting Najee in the flat instead of trying to extend the play when the rush is coming

    I will have to listen to press conference to see if any of these questions were asked cause they need to be.Hate offensive and defensive scheme.Justin is why we were close to coming back.TJ got manhandled a few times and several times blatantly held by the neck or arms.I did see they did not run to TJ’s side much of course I could have missed some of those runs.The us 4 and no more with no blitzes and stunts and other defensive schemes that I do not know cause never played football or studied the game I even know it is not effective.This Tampa 2 or whatever it is not going to cut it.Teams are going to slice and dice the defense if we cannot adjust in game and mix in everything.The Steelers are talented however we are not going to win the one on one or one on two matchups because there are some teams who are more talented than us.This beginning of games has got to improve or we are just going to get behind the eight ball and play catch up all game.Some of those games you are not going to win.No way can Russell Wilson play behind this O-line.The fundamentals are so important as Bill Belicheck used to say do your job.Work on pre-snap reads,communication,stop the stupid mistakes and emotional conduct resulting in penalties,Iowa just be disciplined and let your lay speak for itself.We know Tomlin will make some decisions that will make you shake your head and have you go things that make you go hmmh😊
