Sometimes people do dumb things and i just wished he owned up to scamming. Also the fact he’s so chill saying he doesn’t care about clothes and it’s just clothes is quite insulting to his buyers spending lots of money on what he’s selling to us. it just comes off as very pretentious. I've seen all of Ken's videos and I have to say, although his content is interesting, he comes off low-key as an insecure person who flaunts the "I'm better/I don't care" attitude. He could've hidden the receipts and tags by taping them to the inside of the pants or something, which would've been more transparent. The way he addresses these accusations is standoff-ish and suss, except for the one about his brand. And the bomber... I understand that some people may not want to show their vulnerable side on camera but he genuinely seems unphased by the incident and you can see him humblebrag the jacket in one of his videos saying "it's thrifted, it's not expensive." He was joking of course but kept emphasizing that it's inexpensive which is something someone who truly doesn't care (as he claimed clothes are just clothes) wouldn't do.
Interesting insight, I never really made those connections! I think he has fallen into the trap of too closely identifying his brand with his TH-cam personality. So any negative press for himself will also likely heavily affect the brand which is extremely dangerous

To me that was a step in the right direction in regards to redeeming himself, however he pretty much threw that out the window. I'm not sure why he decided to take it down, and I'm not overly impressed that he did. There are tons of designers and brand owners who have done worse with less backlash gone un-noticed, however Ken's audience (as small as it is) on youtube is intimate and personal, and if he's not honest with himself and with others, his following will eat him alive. I really like what Vu-Jade is becoming, so far it looks like a great fashionable, simple clothing/workwear brand, however if this guy values his brand and wants to accumulate a following to run it, he has to give it his all, 100% otherwise it's going to hit him like a ton of bricks. I still stand firm that his clothing designs are not being ripped off from anyone, it more or less seems like people who are just digging up reasons to make him look even worse with information that does not properly back it.
I really think he should have kept that video up. I totally agree with you in that his relationship with his audience is very personal and intimate and I think that’s a very big mistake knowing that he has done in the past. Not that doing something wrong is impossible to come back from but simply lying to your audience no matter the severity of that lie will really turn a lot of people off and the “I don’t give a damn” attitude that he’s really pushing will turn even more people away. It’s considered archive and very few were made which just adds to the value. Demand is high because of the hype behind it. For that piece it’s really just perceived value and those with the type of cash to splash on it saw its worth thus raising the price to such ridiculous prices... tbh that jacket is not even a cut and sew garment, the base jacket was provided by Fostex, a military surplus supplier and Raf just put his own patches on there if I’m not mistaken
Dangan Yankee I don’t think proxying itself is a bad thing but the transparency of a seller is pretty important to ensure the buyer is satisfied with the price they’re paying. Especially if you’re paying inflated prices for the proxy service itself I want to ensure I know what to expect as the customer

I am not familiar with the pants he is talking about but it is totally possible that he had the same pants and it was just a something that his former friend wanted to say as rationalization as to why there was a missing pair. To me the most important aspect to that point is that he was accused of it and can't really produce any evidence or just didn't show any evidence as to him having his own pair in the size in question. Like a fit pic or something including those pants may suffice but he addressed it so little that theres just not much to go off of...
Yondel Johan Pinar it’s very interesting to me, he does bring up very valid points and I really commend him on coming out and addressing everything in depth. As much as I refuse to support MNML its impossible to deny that they pretty much are a gateway brand. In my opinion brands like that do have a place in fashion as a whole. It's a way for youth on a budget to kind of dip their feet into fashion without doing the more mature work of researching and paying more based on rarity, meaning, construction, etc or a way for those not willing to put more work into researching what they want from the clothes they purchase to just get clothes made primarily for look as opposed to purpose. Its not a great stepping stone but real appreciation is subjective and as I'm sure your perspectives are refined enough to see referencing in clothing its easy to overlook that although something may be a shameless remake the originality and finer details are secondary to the overarching goal of making money. Not my favorite reality of life but it is there...
Flare jeans, paint splattered clothing and cargo pants existed much earlier than Helmut Lang and Gallery Dept were able to capitalize on them, not to mention that these pieces of clothing have been around forever before they turned into some trend. Helmut Lang didn't create cargo pants, and Gallery Dept resells over-priced vintage wear that someone could imitate with a sewing machine. Band wagoners/opportunists trying to use clothing that was never unique to begin with as leverage to hold over someones head and give credit to a trend they don't know much about is pretty weak. I could essentially visit a vintage, surplus store or amazon and replicate the same thing. I also do not like MNML, however they are in no way comparable or in the same lane as Vujade.

I will say that the resemblance is uncanny... But in a way I think people who research enough can eventually find those original inspirations and get into the real deep diving inspirational pieces. I guess I consider these things from Vuja De gateway pieces LOL

As much as I refuse to support MNML its impossible to deny that they pretty much are a gateway brand. In my opinion brands like that do have a place in fashion as a whole. It's a way for youth on a budget to kind of dip their feet into fashion without doing the more mature work of researching and paying more based on rarity, meaning, construction, etc or a way for those not willing to put more work into researching what they want from the clothes they purchase to just get clothes made primarily for look as opposed to purpose. Its not a great stepping stone but real appreciation is subjective and as I'm sure your perspectives are refined enough to see referencing in clothing its easy to overlook that although something may be a shameless remake the originality and finer details are secondary to the overarching goal of making money. Not my favorite reality of life but it is there...
Joshua Galdo brands like mnml and vujade are trash. If you cant get the real thing then buy vintage. It is very simple.
Flare jeans, paint splattered clothing and cargo pants existed much earlier than Helmut Lang and Gallery Dept were able to capitalize on them, not to mention that these pieces of clothing have been around forever before they turned into some trend. Helmut Lang didn't create cargo pants, and Gallery Dept resells over-priced vintage wear that someone could imitate with a sewing machine. Band wagoners/opportunists trying to use clothing that was never unique to begin with as leverage to hold over someones head and give credit to a trend they don't know much about is pretty weak. I could essentially visit a vintage, surplus store or amazon and replicate the same thing. I also do not like MNML, however they are in no way comparable or in the same lane as Vujade.

I was a fan since his first vlog but after 5 vlogs theres something a little off ( the way he think and words coming from his mouth). But i still enjoyed his vlog!
