Mayu... what _is_ it about Mayu, anyway? It's almost as if producers are _afraid_ of her. You can find plenty of songs where Rin isn't a bossy tsundere in shorts and detached sleeves, Gakupo isn't a flowery swordsman, Fukase isn't a ragdoll clown, or Avanna's ears are _completely_ wrong. Mayu is seemingly always in an elegant dress, or wielding a deadly weapon, or soaked in blood, or holding Mimis of various sizes, or smiling creepily. And the songs are overwhelmingly about violence or pain or sorrow or obsession or despair or... ugh. Is everyone afraid that if they break type with her she's going to do them what she supposedly does to everyone else? That's a scary thought. For multiple reasons. My favorite is A Lie and a Stuffed Animal because Dixie Flatline doesn't need to try so hard.

I think its because her being canonically a yandere many producers feel using her will take away from the true meaning of their songs.
