I love the way she focused on the hair because the hair is such an intergral part of TLM but also of the African American experience and drawing the parallels between the 2 was very insightful. Halle and Jonah are great picks for these roles and I'm so excited to see this movie next week!
I don't think that anybody else could've played Ariel she is spectacular and the protective style just makes it so much better because I wear protective styles lol when she flipped her hair in the water I was just iconic everybody's gonna be doing at this summer!😂
Yes, some ppl with looser textures that start locs will go to the ocean so the salt water can help it loc. It made perfect sense that they left her hair as is.
I would love to see an animated series of the little mermaid with Halle and Jonah with their adventures on land and in sea. I would love to Jonah character Eric turn into a merman

What they've both said is it was nice having someone who they could lean on, esp since Halle was filming by herself for a month. She said it was great when Jonah finally came on-set and they became close friends. I don't understand the need to make them like siblings when they've both said time and time again that they're best friends. It's OK that they view each other as best friends.
I appreciate the interviewers who come up with unique and interesting questions too! We love Halle for this role🩵! It’s just a played out storyline and I’m sure there’s some fascinating stuff they could share about filming or post-production and even the PR tour

Constantly being asked questions about your race, which no one chooses, and being reminded that there are people who think you don’t deserve something you worked for because of it, is annoying and disrespectful. It’s been an unnecessary question for a few decades now, but people won’t let it go. People of color aren’t going anywhere and never will. People need to get over it and focus on the experience through entertainment or just don’t watch. Repeatedly asking those types of questions is reinforcing the idea that that ignorant opinion may have some merit, which it doesn’t
4:35 OM MY GAWD! Someone's talking about "The Little Mermaid II" and it's *them* !! And *she* adds that she loves the sequel as well! Unbelievable! I grew up with this one and to be honest, the story is a lot more interesting and relatable than Ariel's plot! I'm sorry! Even if most people think Melody's annoying or the sequel doesn't have the first one's cinematic, classic appeal! Which of course it hasn't, right? *Best sequel Disney has ever pulled by a long shot!*
I’d love to see how the sequel remake turns out, too! Even my friends Selena & Sarah (who just so happens to be a HUGE fan of The Little Mermaid franchise) are hoping we can all plan a movie date to see the remake sequel if it ever gets the green light!
