Hello All! In this organization video I show you that organizing the closet can be quick and easy! We tackle organizing a messy closet in just 15 minutes! If your bedroom closet (or another closet in your house) needs to be organized or decluttered, grab a timer, hit play on this video, and let’s do it together!
This is part 2 of 3 in a series of “quick organization” videos where our ONLY goal is to make the space better than it currently is!
Did we finish organizing the closet in 15 minutes? No. Does it function better than it did? YES! Was it worth it? YES!! YES!! YES!!
It’s all about doing your best while doing a little bit at a time. And if you don’t get it all done, that’s okay. It took more than 15 minutes to get messy anyway! 🙂
Here’s what to do moving forward: Set a timer for 15 minutes tomorrow and repeat the process. Slow and steady eventually reaches the finish line when you don’t give up!

I like your "Good enough" motto! Being a perfectionist, I wanna totally organize everything perfectly at once, which results in me spending too much time in one area. So I'm definately applying this

Your organization technique seems to have changed Alejandra! You were a perfectionist before and now you’re a functionalist. Either case, you’re my favorite organizer and am very glad you’re back! You might explain in future videos what has changed in your life :)

Oh I didn't write it in a critical way. It's just that the difference is so conspicuous. I don't care if Alejandra shoves a bunch of clothes into a closet or takes hours to perfectly fold them. I just love watching her :D

I love how you emphasized making things "good enough" as opposed to "perfect". Its a much more attainable goal. I struggle with trying to keep everything perfect all the time and I just can't manage that standard. I love your functional approach. It looks like people actually use your closet! Glad you're back :)
I just declutter my linen closet and I thought it was going to take 15 mins. It took almost two hours! I should have watched this video first because then I would have known not to take everything out if I only wanted to spend 15 minutes. I'm still glad I did it because now it looks amazing.--Tasha

@@richwgodslove3766 I believe she uses it as spray bottles for cleaners. I believe it's because they're glass but also fit spay bottle nosles perfectly.

Alejandra is the queen of organization! She started all this and I’m so glad she is back!
This was so helpful!! I always feel like it’s all or nothing. I take everything out, make a mess and run out of time. I love the idea of just making it better, not perfect and just doing a small section at a time!
I have my mother and my step father coming up to visit on Friday for 2 and a half days - so I’m doing my organising / chores and decluttering - all while I am cooking , and playing my Alejandra playlist on a loop . :-) I’m so proud of the hard work so far ..... thankfully my new pain medications work really well, so my arthritis in my spine isn’t too bad today :-) have a great week Alejandra and best wishes to Ed :-)

*Tips*
2:14 *Tackle hanging cloths first*
2:46 *Tackle the Shelf that you use the most*
3:34 you can spent a few minutes or the whole 15 min on one section..its your choice.
4:27 *Pull out items from shelf* & *sort it in piles*
*Fold items* ,
Make it functional first.
pile like items with like items and put them back on shelf...
eg: pants , tops, workout , tank tops, t shirts etc.
6:40 Move to next section of space...*Repeat as before*....sort in piles, fold items , and put back in shelf..
7:42 Use *Background Music* to make time pass by faster, and make more enjoyable.
9:51 Put *non seasonal clothing* that is not being used..in the back of the shelf.
10:51 If you run out of time...leave a note , where you left off , to continue your organizing work.
12:20 just keep going and aim for function first and later focus on the bells whistles after.
Vow ! Organizing without bins or containers...so glad to see just a pretty wooden cupboard ( that's we say in India/because the British were here!) and some simple realistic folding. You look well!!! Take care!

I was inspired by your last video to clean our pantries. I told my kids {16 & 17} that whoever could clean/organize their shelves in the least amount of time would get a "prize." We ended up having so much fun, neither cared about winning! Thanks for the tips! 😊

Is it just me or she looks she’s getting younger she hasn’t aged since her early videos years ago, welcome back
She doesn't look younger, but she really hasn't aged much. I notice the color of her hair makes a difference too. The videos of her with black hair are where she looked the youngest.

Glad I am not the only one organizing my tops by sleeve lengths
I do the same - tanks, short sleeve, long sleeve. I do colors white/cream, black/grey, brown, then colors of the rainbow red orange yellow green blue and purple. Makes everything so easy to find and put away, too.

I liked hearing what your reasoning was as you went on. How this is a temporary space and there is no point in adding anything to the shelf for that reason. That is helpful to me. Thank you.
I am so happy that you are back, Alejandra! You have been missed by so many! At around 9:15 in the video, mention an "over the shelf bin" that you could get to help break up the tall vertical space... could you please direct me to a product? I have a few shelves that are too tall. THANK YOU!!
Good question! This is what I was referring to: www.containerstore.com/s/kitchen/cabinet-organizers/undershelf-baskets/12d?productId=10000700 It comes in silver as well. They are great for wooden shelves and I can see storing socks, underwear, tights, bras, sports bras, bathing suits, etc. Basically anything small! It's made for the kitchen but can be used in the closet as well. The part that slides on the shelf is adjustable if your shelves after slightly thicker/thinner. I hope that helps! So I am new to your community and in just two videos you have repeated to set a timer for a short about of time and to improve what is currently there. These words have changed and impacted my approach to doing getting a section tackled around my place. It's only been a couple days and things are better than they were yesterday. I too like many others have said here have missed Alejandra's videos, but somehow these new videos seem different. I often watch some of her older videos to reinforce some of the great ideas I already learned from her. Those videos seemed to be more structured organization, with containers and labels (in closets, cabinets and drawers). I guess Alejandra is down sizing. She mentioned something to that effect in a previous video when mentioning the move to their new farm house. I still am glad she has returned with weekly videos.
I have previously learned how to organize my bathroom cabinet (below sink), coat closet (and other closets with non -plastic, matching hangers) and just other areas of my home on a budget (Alejandra gave dollar store ideas). All her older videos seemed a little OCD to perfection which I loved. So many areas of my home ( I live in a 1 bedroom apt) are so well organized due to her numerous ideas. Thank you for that Alejandra.
Maybe I now need to take a hint from Alejandra on down sizing.
