Would you be able to provide information on the antenna that you've found? I'm interested in following your setup but am having trouble locating an antenna. Thank you.
Hi, I just used a cheap one manufactured by 1byone (they are on Amazon in the UK) as I already had it but any rabbit ears/antenna will work once it is boosted.
I just set it up, but the signal is pretty bad, and the correct audio frequency is a little different than the best video frequency. Wondering whether I should get another amplifier (maybe stack), or a better antenna. What do you say Vince?

@@c.authe80 1. Name a person on planet Earth who runs an RF transmitter at home for several years 2. How is an RF transmitter more dangerous than your neighbour's wi-fi operating on much higher frequency?
Surprising good. The controller is still connected to the Xbox so it is the display lag that would suffer but to me it felt normal. I don't play well enough to really notice so a professional may well notice it :-)
You get an ordinary receiving aerial, but without an amplifier. It works both ways. If it has an amplifier, it doesn't and it is usually stated if the antenna is active and requires an attachment that powers it through the cable, or not, and if it doesn't it doesn't have an amplifier. Or you can go all-out cheap and attach two wires to the output and make a dipole out of that. Remember, you don't want to summon the Men In Black so making this setup too efficient may not be a good idea. I personally use a monopole antenna from a broken FM radio connected through a capacitor and inductor to match the impedance (sort of, because it's hand-tuned) and it works OK. The length of course depends on the frequency, which probably depends on which country you bought your VCR in. I also just have the modulator from a broken VCR, as it's more portable and it was easy to hook up (usually just has 5 leads : ground, power for the receiver (probably), 5V power for the transmitter, video in and audio in. I wonder how it was tuned in receiving mode though).
Hello ! Good job for this ! Well i tried to do thing like that few months ago with my black & white television, but only the sounds work but i think it's because my TV is SECAM (i live in France) and everything i bought is using PAL (even if it's sometimes like SECAM), so sometimes the image work but not really well :(
me too man. i cant find them for cheaper than 30 bucks. i am going to make the setup wiht my '89 watchman, but without the booster. If it works ill let you know, if not ill pay the unfortunate large amount for the booster.
@@ntl9974 well I did the whole thing, I ended up purchasing a booster. Literally spent upwards of 100 bucks, with 0 results. Ended up retiring the project and now my watchman is nothing more than a paperweight.

Just have to use special adapters to convert to analog then RF. Also when boosting the signal with an area, make sure that you don’t want to get unexpected signals otherwise you might broadcast your gameplay to your neighbours’ televisions which can be illegal.
Just recently bought a Sony watchman. This is gold!
i got lucky to see the switch on 1986 pocket tv.
