I felt really dissapointed K9999 didn't appear at all and wasn't even mentioned :,( NESTS team was a team of three members instead of 4 Angel was the one who attacked Foxy and betrayed Nests. SNK and Netmarble really made a mess with the story of my favorite KOF game. I hate retcons. All my hopes to see K9999 are dead 😢 I am depressed right now...
it's really annoying that k9999 has copyright issues, I think Netmarble can't do anything about it. But yes he is a very important part of KOF2001, it's a shame that we can't see him again

Also, having read (or at least seen the Mahnwa since a good chunk of it is still untranslated) the KOF 2001 Mahnwa, K9999 is not all that similar to Tetsuo Shima if we're talking about vibe and personality. The former is a fun loud rageaholic who loves theatrics and flaunting his powers. The latter ? Well, Movie Tetsuo is a tragic kid who ended up in a situation waaay over his head while the manga version goes to Clockwork Orange territory once he gets a better control of his powers.
