Getting adjusted to the new theme of the show. I kinda like how it showcases more people and places as well as hopefully some backstory on some cool pieces you might come across. Kinda like the shipping of American pickers
What do you think Brandon, is it a big mistake not buying an extended length van (Transit)? I'm getting a van in the next week or so. I can get a regular length Transit for less than the extended length van. Lower prices are very tempting but I know the extended length van will get better loads.
Honestly I don’t suggest anyone getting into FTL dedicated expediting unless you have a connect that can get you consistent loads at a good rate. One day with no load here one day with no load there and before you know it you spend a month on the road with only 14 or 15 loads. You definitely limit yourself to your range of loads with a smaller van. The name of the game is space.
@@ExpeditingAmerica Yep, space is what I'll need. I guess that's the key consideration. And having that extra space with the extended length van will probably result in more/better loads thereby paying for itself reasonably quickly.
I noticed you use a gas van, and wanted to know how you keep your van warm in the winter when sleeping in there. All the heater i see only work with diesel.
Yes, you are correct. Most of them are diesel heaters last winter. I used a Mr. buddy heater and there are also diesel heaters with external tanks. Best of luck new episode drops today thank you.
so... whats the smallest sprinter van you can use for this kind of work. only asking because im looking at a couple but one of them is on the smaller side
The name of the game is space. That’s why I put a second level deck. You really limit yourself going with a 144” but it can be done I just don’t think it can be done lucratively. Not in the lane I’m in now. I’m even thinking bout adding a trailer cuz my weight limit isn’t even close with what I haul
@@ExpeditingAmerica an additional trailer would probably make a world of difference on your profitability. But can you still keep everything bellow 10000 lb’s .working without a logbook , driving without hitting the scales is a huge comport and maybe a luxury you don’t wanna give up that easily. But I wish you the best either way…
@@cevahirlacin7760 yessir that’s correct. Some guys in the group have that and it makes a huge difference. It’s about $20 more a day with fuel but I can make a couple hundred dollars more a day with it

I can’t believe people are paying to ship modern brown furniture, in the U.K. I can’t give the stuff away!

Why don't you just get a box truck? You can make more money by putting less effort.
Cuz I owe on this van.
