George Kam lmao gamer then you don’t know drumming, it’s really not surprising that he can go that fast. Most drummers should be able to go at least that fast
TheGunCreator2 take advantage of your age, at that time you have a lot of energy, im 17 and its hard to play this song but it was easier when i was younger im eating a lot of bad food tho lol
Dave Grohl was such an important piece to Nirvana. No way Chad Channing or any of the other drummers play such a cool intro and verse part. Dave was just so much more skilled.
Not really. More than half of the songs in Nevermind were written while Chad was still in the band, including this song, Stay Away(which was titled 'Pay To Play' back then). Dave just basically copied Chad's parts and played it with his powerful drumming. You can listen to Nirvana's Smart Studio Sessions with Chad playing the drums and you'll hear some Nevermind songs including this one.
@@brandonkim2410 I know but Dave added tom fills here and there and other nuances so Dave and Chad's parts are exactly the same. The drumming on Stay Away is more technical and creative than on Pay to Play.
Always cool to see a left-handed drummer. And great cover Charlie! Drums sound great, and you clearly know how to destroy those drums like a monster! GG man.
Well, I can't really remember exactly how I tuned for this song (it's been a while) but what I can tell is that for the toms I used a lower than usual "rock" tuning with a lot of muffling. (2 moongels on the rack tom and 3 on the floor tom) The 12" tom for example sounds almost like a small floor tom. I tuned with a DrumDial, both heads (batter & resonant) had the same tension. I'm guessing the reading on the dial was around 72. I hope that helps!
paaaaaaa andas una cosita ...tambien tenes tremenda nave yo tengo una peace jaja bien yo dave era un groso en q trio x dios.tremendo batero felicitaciones membermere .
If you don't look at the video while it's playing, you might mistake it for the original track. That's how great you are! Can you please do more Nirvana covers!
hi i also have a tama rockstar and looking to get the same exact head set up as you and i cant get my toms as good as yours could you please make a video or please tell me how you tune your drums thanks
i need some help! when your doing the snare is just a normal consistent snare roll or is it a different ration of hitting from left hand to right hand? im slightly confused please help!!
One helpful piece: The kick drum notes on the rolls in the intro, break, and end are supposed to be (visualization): “dutdutdutdutdutdutdutdut” (I believe sixteenth notes) instead of “dut-dut-dut-dut-dut” (eighth notes). Other than that, the cover was flawless!
Does anyone know what kind of sticking it is for the intro - I have a score that says simple RLRL but there's at least an accent or another kind of paradiddle
I believe this player is doing a double stroke roll (RRLLRRLL) for the intro. I'm pretty sure Dave would do a single stroke roll (RLRL), so that the roll could crescendo to each hit having full and equal power at the end of the roll.
Well, I played it by accenting a little the 1 2 3 4 on the right hand but since you hear both me and Grohl playing at the same time it's kinda hard to tell exactly what's going on because Grohl plays a non-accented roll.
Are you guys blind or something? Watch his legs: he's not playing all the notes on a bass hence not doing any favor to the original drum track! There are 16th notes during rolls and three bass notes in the chorus (not two). Some notes between snare hits he's not playing at all. All this extra stuff makes this track great and challenging
This is actually the best drum cover of Nirvana I've ever seen...every beat was 100% on
dave grohl was one of the best drummers ever. lots of drummers can't go that fast continuously
Cherish G I’m 12 and I can

George Kam no to insult the cover, it was a great cover

Chad Channing did play this intro originally albiet alot less powerfully

Thank you! I'm not left-handed though, I was just having fun playing open-handed.
As a drummer myself this goes hard asf‼️ ❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥 PHUCKIN' AWESOME ‼️❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥
I learned to play guitar and drums with the Nevermind album. This song was always fun to play.
my god this is actually really good
One of the better drum covers of this song, nicely played!!!

Ideal song for a drum cover. Nicely performed!
GUY YOU HAVE A LOT OF TALENT, CONTINUE PLAYING THE DRUMS LIKE THAT AND YOU WILL BETTER
Yeah! Just how it has to be, great drumming!
Other Nirvana songs: melancholic, depressive and slow. This song from the very first seconds: FUCKIN BEAT THE DRUMS, DAVE!!!
I arrived late but good job
Thanks! It's a Tama Rockstar. The heads are Evans coated G2 over clear G1 on the toms and Evans Power Center Reverse Dot on the snare.
Your kit sounds so good. Excellent cover as well.
That was perfect man!
Amazing job, lets get you up to 1000. I'll share!

Great snare sound!
WTG!!!! 13 years old, but still DOPE!
EXCELLENT !!!
Awesome cover. Shout out to mr machine gun hands himself, dave grohl :)
@PotatoDonki Thanks!

Es una batería Tama Rockstar.

How can you even see his leg? Video dark as fuck
