I’m trying to completely grade my 71 set and also need some upgrades. Would you be willing to sell some of the 71s? Simmons, Blyleven, and Brunet ?

Enjoy your videos and PSA grades cards with an AI scan system as you know grading has changed.,

Thank you. I wasn’t aware that PSA uses AI scanning yet.

Nice cards. PSA’s continuing inconsistency is troubling. They have gone through periods like this before, but it’s frustrating to see it happen again. I’m not sure if it’s new employees or backlog size problems or what. No manual, human eye grading operation is ever going to be perfect, but at least you know outside of maybe a couple of outliers, SGC is going to send the majority of your order back to you properly graded. With PSA right now, you will send them four cards that look NM, two might get 7’s, and the other two might get 4’s with no explanation. For this to be happening noticeably and consistently is a problem. I won’t even bite off the fact that altered and trimmed cards for certain submitters are still finding their way into high end PSA slabs, but that fact combined with Joe the average collector not being able to get a fair shake on midgrade cards is hard to stand still for. It’s long eluded me how PSA remains the “market leader.” Deep pocketed collectors and investors, people like Ken Kendrick, Marshall Fogel, Ken Goldin, Dimitri Young, et al. could say something and move the needle with PSA, but they won’t. Why is that? This is a question I think the run-of-the-mill hobby should be asking itself right now.

It is troubling. I just got another order back that I had pre-graded and the grades are all 1.5-2 grades lower. I’ve submitted dozens of orders this year and almost every time the grades I pre-graded have been consistent with what PSA gave. This order, and the one that just came back (video coming shortly) have been undergraded. Not sure what’s going on. Worst part is there is no accountability on PSA’s part. Oh well. What can you do? They still have the highest market price.

@@superherostepdad I’m mostly a collector, so market price can sometimes be of secondary concern to me. I will look for graded cards when I want them (not everything in my collection has to be graded) from graders that know what they are doing. That is not PSA right now. People concerned with hobby status or just flips can continue to grade with PSA. I get that those who do a lot of selling sometimes have no choice. Glad that doesn’t apply to me.

New subscriber, the ink sucked. That Mantle centering is great, so nice.

Totally. If not for that ink, the Mantle probably would have graded at least a 5

The centering on the back of your 1958 Yogi Berra gave you the pathetic grade of a 3
