Actually, if you read the book, you'll learn that Scheherezade volunteered to go to end the sultan's tyranny against women. It was her sister Dunyazad who was to be wed to the sultan, and Scheherezade went to accompany her on what would be her final night.

Beautiful version. With the full orchestra, the solo melodies mostly go to the Concert Master (1st Chair violinist) but you two do cover the major points with great feeling!
