I'm also reminded of that Sol Sanctum scene when Isaac speaks to the Wise One. "It can be a dangerous power if misused" - says the Wise One. And so we can feel some terrible grand meaning behind these words - thanks to the music. (SORRY) Which reminds me of one interesting thing about GS plot: the Wise One never directly stated that the Alchemy must remain sealed or that Isaac should do this. And right during the Vale's Sanctum conversation after Mt. Aleph eruption he says: "Choose your destiny wisely, young ones", which directly implies that our heroes surely are or will be facing ambiguity. Those were his only words regarding their quest, which makes them quite important. Also we hear from the Great Healer: "Felix must unlock the power". (it's something that the Wise One must have told him) Those worlds are just direct hint to the plot progression (especially in TLA). The quest imposed on Isaac may have been some misinterpretation by the Great Healer, the obvious (and inaccurate) way of thinking: "The stars bear terrible power" & "Isaac should embark on some quest" (& "they kidnapped Jenna and Kraden, so they're evil and should be stopped") => "The quest is to prevent ignition of the lighthouses". So, the Great Healer says: "Acquiring the Elemental Stars is their fate alone". There's no further discussion on the real matter of Isaac's quest. Isaac's goal was not properly formed. There was no really serious research behind it, and supposedly no direct instructions from the Wise One. ...No wonder that GS had been devised as a single game and only in the process of programming development they had to split it into two parts. Even though we have two parts with huge storylines, the plot is very integral. And here I was trying to point at the arch which connects the very beginning of the first game with the real story of Saturos and Menardi and the conclusive events of TLA. So, Sorry for this big text ;)
One thing I never understood is why we can't say "No" without getting a game over. Yeah Mendria and Sartous's methods were questionable, but at the end of the day, they were trying to light the lighthouses to save their home. It makes me aonder is maybe Issac might've teamed up with them if he knew the whole truth
@@connorhilchie2779, maybe because Isaac's opposion was crucial for lighting the Lighthouses xD The perfect way of saving the world may have been an agonistic one (look for the word in the dictionary if you don't know it). That's some expanation.
I may be wrong, but I don't think this is the music from the mines. I believe (though) possibly incorrectly) that this is the music that plays during the opening scene, in the storm.
Very well done, but it seems a little too epic. The feel I always got from the Altin Mines themes was just this weird, quiet menace about the unknown rather than a bombastic set piece. This feels more like boss music.
You make a very good point. I think it comes from the heavy use of reverb. When making this, I thought, "how could this music help you feel like you were in a big mine or cave to help with ambiance"
I like it because it reminds me of the mood of going through this cave. I didn't know whether I would end up drowned or in another fight or flying in a cart over cliffs to success.
Jesus Christ, if I become a billionaire I am so funding a complete remake of this game
count me in
I’d buy that in a heartbeat.😭
don t for get to make it for pc ;)))

This song used to scare me. It kinda still does and I'm an adult now. It fills you with so much dread.
The thing I dreaded was doing the puzzles here, because too many monster encounters from running around
@@memory744 Imagine hearing his as nuclear war rages on.
Chills! Literally, chills! Awesome!

It plays in both areas
yeah it plays both areas its for both the mines and the opening intro sequence its only played in those two areas.
zenie250
You're forgetting Lunpa Fortress.
@@chazzschrantz ow, i didnt know, thanks for the fact!
O_O and you do golden sun music too... oh my god you have just cured my depression
Well golden sun is freaking awesome, I should be starting Golden sun 2.0 soon since i'm much better
***** oh my god there's more coming!? I'm really happy to hear that!
@@0rangaStang did you start i?
your GS remixes are so underrated...
"3 years ago...A stormy night...woke up villagers who were trying to shelter themselves but 4 people did not make it alive...or did they?"
This is great btw. Hard to believe it's a decade old. Hope I can find other tracks you made of this OST
Just discovered this, it deserves more credit. Honestly wish we had more of these 😧
I redid every single track. Not all are great but I did do them all
It feels like this could be a Donkey Kong Country theme too
a masterpiece... nothing more to say..
Wow this sounds scary! O.o
If this was in the original game Ost I wouldnt go in the mines anymore. xD
These are all excellent work, good job orangastank
You should do the opening title theme. It's one of the themes you didn't have in your playlist that I think should be there. This was amazing though.
Amazing, keep this up please. Golden sun is great too ^^
6 dislikes; 6 too many this is beautiful
Ugh...those mines still give me a headache...

This is insanely good. Those reverbing organ pipes sound so haunting
Anyone knows the name of the original of this song? I dont find it when using the name "Altin peak mines"
Maximillian Collinghan by a little late you mean 6 years? Lmfao
how come the more recent videos aren't as long as this one?
It's good, but the refrain or main theme (:D) is moved from it's place a little bit :/ I think you should improve that :/
This repeating sound is too loud. It takes over and disrupts the rest too much.
