I happened across one of your more recent videos and enjoyed it so much I'm now going to begin at the beginning and watch them all. 😊⛵🐬 ❤ Thanks so much for sharing your journey. Your joy at being off the dock and underway is wonderful.
I am really enjoying your adventure so far. I am a bit older than you(37), but I have always dreamed of sailing. I bought myself a 1981 Catalina 27. Her name is 'Echo'. I am currently learning to sail. I can not wait until I have the sailing abilities that you do. Good luck on your adventure!
Stumbled into the latest vids, and am now starting with the first. First thing I noticed was the almost pristine state of the boat and its interior, as compared to 3 years later.😮 'Of things yet to come'. And it's not just the boat that matured. 😏
I love this girl. She is just awesome. Im 37 and just now getting into sailing. Its going to be my life soon and I cant wait, all i want is to learn to sail and buy a boat. I know alot of people say that but thats all i want and think about.
Can not believe that I haven't found your channel until now and I'm always looking for sailing and live aboard channels. I'm so impressed that you are a young beautiful woman single handling a boat. You are living my dream and that's why I'm watching this video theme. Looking forward to follow your journey.
for sure , respect all round on that ,,, and pulling up the anchor chain by hand,,, i have seen one video where the man could not leave because his electric windlass had broken,, this girl is a star.
OMG! Your cute! You are so atypical in a very good way. A breath of fresh air. I personally am getting bored with the current sailing chanels. Nice to see someone real on an adventure.
Finally after subscribing, and watching more recent videos, I caught up with E1! I'm 60 now and refitting my 33' boat for big blue, and heading to the Caribbean in a year or two. I'll leave the boat in the Caribbean and fly back and fore to sail her until I retire in about three years, then full time like you. Not really around the world but around the Caribbean to enjoy retirement. And like you, going solo. Fair winds and stay safe.
Love this, Holly, and love you!! So glad that we didn’t see this without knowing that you made it down to the islands 🌴. Be safe, may the winds be gentle and ever at your back ❤️
Just subscribed today.I will probably binge watch until the latest video. This reminds me of an adventure I took as a young man in Alaska. I brought my knowledge and common sense with me. I'm sure you will too. These things build character and maturity in ourselves and we get the pleasure of bragging rights!! Later on, when we decide to settle down, that right someone (gal for me) comes along. I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts that will happen for you too. Now, on to watching.
To be honest, at first i was thinking : ok, one more who is going to sail down the intra coastal , crossing the gulfstream and stop in the bahamas...BUT ! you kept sailing and sailing ( all caribbean, panama, transpacific...ok, i'm impressed ! you have all my respect for such an epic journey signle handed ! Bravo Miss ! You are a tough girl ! ps : tell the Belgian, that here in Brussels weather sucks as usual, better he keeps sailing Polynesia on your side 😉
YOU are AMAZING !!!! What a great adventure you are on !! Wishing you calm seas and unforgettable memories! Thank you for making this film....I thoroughly enjoyed it and am so proud of you for your strength and fortitude and so much more....what a great role model. I can't wait to see what's up next Monday.....stay safe and feel the LOVE.
WOW! Rafe off SV 'Felix' in Airlie Beach in Queensland Australia. If you ever get this far, it would be wonderful to meet someone so in touch with the beautiful planet we live on. It is hard to convey, to others, the freedom/ terror to do what you do & you do it beautifully. Thankyou
really fresh air in the sailing channels, the difference its all about you simply looks real as it is, do not change. Congratulations for your video and good sails, have good waves.
For pulling anchor by myself. I run a line from the tiller up to the bow and bring it back to the tiller in a big loop around the ship. Then set the main. Then start pulking the anchor up. And you can sail in to deeper water and still have control of the vessel. While youre working on the foredeck.
Hi young lady. I was in Oriental working on my boat at the same time you left. Really enjoying your videos and have watched all of them thus far. You are making the trip I have always dreamed of! Share all your destinations with us as you travel. We are looking forward to traveling the seven seas with you. Thanks so much for sharing this with us! Jeff and Cindy.
Yes, love true adventure, it will be a pleasure, to sail as mate, and mooring, anchor retrieval, a specialty, Wind Hippies always make great cruising mates. Cheers.
Geesh, where to begin. I love your openness, your awareness, the spontaneity of your soul. Stay humble dear lady.... your magic is contagious. Many thanks to "the art of hookie" or turning us on to you. Can't wait till your next blog.... Thank you so much!
Great narrative and visuals. Good to see you off and wonderful to listen to that old faithful Bukh 10DV. Looking forward to embark on your adventure from the comfort of my armchair ;-)
Glad I found your channel. When you are under sail or motoring, solo, you should be harnessed when on deck. I'm looking forward to watching your adventures. You are taking on a very trying task, and I wish you the best. Happy Sails!
@@roderickmchardy3650 It was just a friendly tip. It was not condescending at all. I think she is doing great, and has a good head on her shoulders, but I'd like to see her harnessed when sailing alone. If she stumbles and falls off the boat while under sail it will NOT stop for her. If you were a sailor you would know that. I also think youtubers have followers that try to do what they do, and I would hate to see some other person get killed because they were less skilled and tried to do what she was doing. I think the only armchair warrior here is you.
AAAHHHH! After responding to roderick I looked through the comments and found she is just a troll and I fell for it. Oh well. For the rest of you, don't fall for it. Don't respond to miss mchardy.

I was just recommended your channel, and I just want to say I think it is remarkable to do what you are doing. Well done to you! I'm excited to catch up on your vids.
Holly, I am really enjoying your channel. I recall following the sailing adventures of your family in "Cruising World" in the 90s. I was just a coastal sailor but the stories gave me pleasant dreams, and added a shine to my coastal sailing adventures. So great to see you doing what you love.
Inspirational. I have aspirations to do something like this, but learning to sail from zero to this point looks like a long road. Maybe in future videos you could talking about your sailing background and what skills you think are necessary for this kind of trip? Also, if you keep track of your expenses people will be grateful for any insight. Skills and money are the two essentials, and hearing about people doing it in a minimalist way opens door the for others to follow.
We have clay like mud in our anchorages on the east coast of england. I bought a cheap pair of waterproof trousers and waterproof gloves just for bringing up the anchor becuase as you say it gets everywhere. A bucket of scooped water poured over the front deck gets most of it off. You can have that standing by after you've pulled the anchor and it's really quick just to throw it over. Then once the boat is on the way and on course I slip out of the anchor clothes.
Love your channel. Just thinking of ways to make sailing a bit safer. Noticed how long it takes you to unstrap dingy attached to a lot of ropes just to get it into the water bellow under normal conditions. Now imagine your miles at sea alone with gale winds & big waves. That simple 20 minute action turns out to last 45 minutes as lines get tangled & panicking situation. I just watched a YT Chanel where it had 2 women sailors caught off guard & their sailboat had capsized at sea then turtled over. They had no access to get to their safety dingy safely strapped to bow of deck during actual emergency. I’d say have one or two dingies. One velcroed to bow & one being pulled a few feet by rope behind your boat. Just a thought- remember the sea doesn’t care if you’re ready or not.
I think there's a whole lot of people that feel the same way I do, hooked in to are every day life. It is so relaxing to see you do what you love and being free please keep the good work up be safe

I now have a motor in my boat but I still sail the anchor out when I have the room. I often prefer to do that as I dont have an anchor winch. Its a matter of letting the tiller do its thing, get the main up and let it flap with the sheet free. Walk back to the cockpit. Check ready to go then sheet the main in and cleat when she has swung slightly to one side. The boat should in time bite and start sailing. Walk to the bow and get yourself secure.
