My surname is definitely Polish, although not very popular. A few years ago I googled my name and had one amazing hit: a boy named Mordechai from New York. I told this to my son, who, as is the custom in our family, dug into the subject and sent me an even more astonishing find - a list of 75 namesakes from the Holocaust Survivors and Victims Database, most of them, judging by their first names, evidently of Jewish origin. I wonder now what my roots were like...

Because of the supply, the USSR army went too far on the offensive, which is why the supply did not keep up with the army and supply problems began

Soviets even denied western allies to use its airfields when they wanted to help the Poles during the uprising.
