"Dle Yaman" was one the thousands of ancient Armenian folksongs collected and preserved by Komitas Vardapet (1869-1935), a composer, musicologist and the founder of modern Armenian classic music. Komitas's life was spared through the intervention of a group of influential friends during the Armenian Genocide in 1915, but he lived to see everyone he loved to die in the Armenian Genocide. Komitas had never recovered from the emotional shock. He died in a psychiatric mental institute.

Beautifully haunting Armenian song preserved and saved by the Great Komitas Vardaped. Originally it was a sad love song but now it is played for the horrific Armenian genocide. This remix of a song that already stirs up every Armenians emotions has gone to another level. It takes me to a time when my ancestors lived in their traditional homeland in Cilicia. I imagine facing the Mediterranean and breathing the oceans air as I grasp a handful of soil from the divine land and I fall asleep forever next to an ancient Armenian church that was built in 305AD.
